We here on the ‘ranch’ love noshing on vittles, so imagine my surprise with the mailman brought us a present yesterday.

Woo-hoo! We were winners in the drawing over at Dakota’s Den recently and I couldn’t be more excited to try them out. Great recipes, pawsome photos and cool meal ideas along with adorably clever text. I can’t decide which one to try first, Seafood for Schnauzers or Kung Pao for Pekingese, I may have to have Sam put his paw of approval on which one to try first, but I think I’m going to try to steer him toward the Kung Pao because I love spicy Chinese. Sam is raring to go, can you tell? The recipes look easy enough to prepare with ‘normal’ kind of ingredients. As the Kung Pao book says, “simple dishes: one burner, one wok.”
And because I love good seafood, I’m definitely making more than a few of the dishes from Seafood for Schnauzers. Can’t wait to “learn to do fish up right” and feast on some terrific seafood. We’re gonna wash our paws and get started this weekend.
Thanks again to Dakota’s Den for the really terrific give-away. Sam and I have never won anything before so this is super exciting. Sam is hoping I’ll do the cooking though, getting that apron on him was no easy task. You’ve have thought I was giving him a bath by his expression.
Live, love, bark! <3
We are sure you will cook up something delicious!

Reblogged this on A Nibble – A Bite – or a Meal! and commented:
My friend does good work…..
Blush, blush…thanks ever so for the reblog and for stopping by. 🙂
LOVE the apron! Monstera leaf, my fave!!
<3 and so many happy memories associated with that apron.
congrats … good for you!!!
poodles are so wonderful you know… I have to share, this… my daughter and son in law were here for a week on a visit. They are runners and they ran with my Darcy (standard poodle) about nine kilometers a day, He loved it (he is only just two). I just dropped them off at the airport. I’ll never be able to compete with that kind of exercise.P.oor old Darcy… thank goodnes he is a forgiving poodle.
Hopefully he’ll settle for ball throwing? 🙂 They are the best dogs and quite athletic.
I also won a “Seafood for Schnauzers” book. Please send down some of that Colorado seafood because we don’t have any in Arizona.
Fortunately a couple blocks away is a swell little seafood shop so I expect some great tuna steaks will be making it to the ranch very soon. 🙂
you are so sweet! Mom and I are so happy that you are thrilled with your prize!!! I bet there is gonna be some good eatin’ at your house! Mom made the Spring Rolls and said they were delicious!! Barks and licks and love, Dakota (and Mom too!)
I saw that recipe, looked quite yummy! So excited to try out a couple recipes this weekend. I see tuna steaks in my near future. 😉
I love this books they are supercute and I love the way they write about the recipes. I work on a menu for Easy( I will make a doggie-version, of course) where I can use all his books :o)
Such a great idea. Im going to try to dog-ify some of the seafood recipes for Sam. Every dog needs their Omega 3’s. 😉
cook?? What is this thing of which you speak?
Ha ha, I know that feeling. Not much prep involved with peanut butter but Im gonna give it a shot. [wink]
