  1. Oh, Monika, I am soooo very happy for you! Retirement is great, and even better when you have someone to share it with! Sounds – and looks – to me like Wayne is a perfect match for you AND Sam! I know you’ll be busy, but take some “just for me” time too once in a while to recharge and rejuvenate! It really is a necessity. Enjoy my friend!!

  2. Retirement is what you make of it. You have a lot to keep you busy and you have stuff to do that you love. You’ll be more than fine. Unfortunately, some were so wrapped up in work that they don’t know what to do when it stops.

  3. Sounds like bliss my friend! Happy New Year and here is to a great retirement..pee ess the mailman delivered your gorgeous cardie and i love it! Thankyou sweets..loves Bev xxx

  4. Ah! Retirement! Welcome to the select group of wonderfully special folk who do whatever they want everyday, and can do it without a full time job and all the responsibilities and obligations that go with same job! My only regret about retirement …….. should have done it sooner!!! 🙂

      1. Hi Ilex – Adjustment time is relative to how well you prepare. Remember that you have been doing your work for many years now and so to abruptly stop can be a problem. The key (to me) was to identify why I worked, and then decide how I was going to fill those aspects in retirement. Some examples – job satisfaction – social component – special people that I worked with – job challenges – work planning/execution/rewards etc. etc. People I know who have trouble in retirement are the ones who made no plans. They did not realize how much they would miss aspects of their job and therefore had no plans for compensating same. I love being retired! 🙂

Feel free to bark your thoughts...but no growling please.
