While we generally avoid vegetable gardening (the squirrels make it far to difficult for any reasonable success), our recent quarterly Pet Therapy newsletter included this recipe for planting a successful ‘life’ garden that we thought we’d share.
Recipe for the Garden of Life
Plant Three Rows of Peas:
- Peace of Mind
- Peace of Heart
- Peace of Soul
Plant Four Rows of Squash:
- Squash Gossip
- Squash Indifference
- Squash Grumbling
- Squash Selfishness
Plant Four Rows of Lettuce:
- Lettuce be Faithful
- Lettuce be Kind
- Lettuce be Patient
- Lettuce Really Love One Another
No Garden is Complete Without Turnips:
- Turnip for Meetings
- Turnip for Service
- Turnip to Help One Another
To Conclude the Garden, We Must Have Thyme:
- Thyme for Each Other
- Thyme for Family
- Thyme for Friends
Water freely with patience and cultivate with love.
Here’s hoping your garden is exactly what you cultivated and sowed.
Live, love, bark! <3
Brilliant and so creative. Profound too ☺

Love this and all so true. I volunteer a lot, so that turnip for meetings and service is something I wish more people would do. LOL
The world could use more turnips. ღ

We try to ‘serve’ up the best for our fur-iends. 😉
oh that’s the perfect instruction for a garden! we only have thyme, but as long as that thyme is for me I’m fine with that :o)
I dunno, you always seem to turnip just when needed, Easy. ღ
