It seems like maybe my dog might just be a Catholic…he sure seems very religious lately. If he starts following Pope Francis on Twitter, I’ll know for sure. I mean, he seems to be trying to baptize every living thing in sight these days. It goes something like this:
Find every possible tree or shrub and then sniff (pray), pee (baptize), repeat. Heavy emphasis on the pray and repeat parts. Most of the time, the baptize part is just a few drops. Gawd, I love male dogs. For the record he walked around that particularly tree twice and then circled back in the opposite direction once more before the ‘blessing.’ My neighbors are soo lucky he’s such a religious guy.
So far he hasn’t done too much damage to the garden but I’m holding my breath. There’s so much material to work with, so I’m sure there’ll be some collateral damage at some point. On the plus side, the climbing rose near the front door has NEVER bloomed that much before.
Is your dog ‘religious?’
Live, love, bark! <3
BAhahahaha, Gambler is Catholic too he baptizes the other dogs.
Oh no! 😝
You know Lulu worships the devil. No, wait. She IS the devil.
Haha. In the words of one political candidate, she’s just ‘misconstrued.’ 😉
Great post, Monika. Very entertaining. Bilbo is very devout, although I think you’d have to say that worshipping a tennis ball, would have to be classified as a “cult”. He has no scruples either and is quite happy to chase another dog’s ball. He is totally obsessed but being a Border Collie, I think it’s in the genes.
Hope you’re having a great week. We have a long weekend in honour of the Queen’s Birthday. We’re not going away though and doesn’t look that relaxing either but a change will be good.
Hope you have a great weekend!
xx Rowena
Perhaps you can explain why the celebration is now when her actual birthday is in April if memory serves me correctly? 🙃
Ha ha ha….the religious dog hilarious 😉😉😉
Dear Lord Yes! He sniffs for so damn long I’m like you could go SO much further on your walk, if you’d only stop sniffing. Then of course there are times where nothing but a couple of drops come out. LOL
P.S. I was giggling and nodding the whole post. 😉
lol. Yes, Rita is surprisingly “religious” for a girl dog! She definitely likes to “bless” certain spots on our walks. 🙂
Love the pic of your beautiful garden…and classic Denver-area ranch house. Wondering if I ever passed by it in my Colo. days…
Thank you! If you were ever in the Highlands in NW Denver, you may well have. 🙂 It might have looked ‘slightly’ different back then-this was a distressed property until it was rehabbed. I consider myself very lucky to have found it.
Ah, Highlands…home of Root Down, one of my fave restaurants. Great area. We lived in the western part of Arvada, near Golden.
Root Down? Oh my gosh, I absolutely LOVE that place! It’s a small world, isn’t it? I think I ‘live’ at the Costco store at Wadsworth & 52nd. 😉
It is a small world…too bad I started blogging AFTER I moved :-/
😉 Well, if you’re ever back, let me know. A face-to-face is definitely in order!
Absolutely!
Our dog (female) belongs to the same church as Sam! By the way, the front of your house looks beautiful. Nancy Fischer

Thanks, Nancy❣️ Funny how some pets are more ‘religious’ than others. My last Standard must have been an atheist since he NEVER peed on walks. 🙂 Hope you’re well.
I’ll try to see it as religious… right now it’s annoying!
“Amen”
As a female, I am surprised at how much Tippy “blesses” things too…..but, with her, it is usually only places where other animals have left behind a message of some sort. So, I guess she is more of a pee mail dog. LOL
Girls are like that…yeah…they are. 😉
It’s about giving of yourself.
Wow! Then that “play bow” is probably nothing less than a prayer position? 🙂
You know…that’s one way to look at it!
I am not religious, but I do like to keep up with my pee mails – even if it’s just a short note….
Love and licks,
Cupcake
It’s so impawtant to keep in touch with others, Cupcake!
yes, it seems Easy is catholic too. He ran through the side door of the church and ruined the mass. The father stopped him with some water splashes… all people laughed it was a little too much cliché how a priest can chase away the devil with holy water :o)
OMD, that is just too funny! Sam is his own priest. 😉
Hahaha…Doc has taken to blessing everything on walks…by the end i am surprised he has not left his bladder behind! If you are worried about the lawn try Dogrocks if you can find them..they worked brilliantly on our lawn with 2 religious nuts here..totally safe to use..i researched 🙂 xxx Bev
