The leaves are slowly beginning to turn in the Mile High City though I suspect this year’s colors won’t be nearly as spectacular as they were before as shown by Exhibit A below from a couple of years ago, no doubt due in part to a lack of moisture this summer. Still…September, you are such a temptress.
Live, love, bark! <3
What a beautiful leaf. I’m sure it will be gorgeous, even if it is not as spectacular as it is some years. The temperatures here are still getting into the 90’s, but the mornings are cooler. I’m afraid we’ll go straight from summer to winter, temperature wise. Then we’ll freeze.
Here too. 89 today and 90 set for tomorrow. Again. 😨 I’m so over summer heat!
Me too!
Ah September, how I love thee. I noticed a couple of trees starting to change and did my happy dance. I’m not a big fan of the summer heat and humidity.
That makes two of us. It was darn right chilly this morning and we both soooo loved it!
Just love the changing of the colors, that’s the only thing I like about it getting cold.
Maybe if I remind myself of that fact I won’t mind the coming cold as much. Hope springs eternal!
Our leaves haven’t started changing yet but we have had a ton of rain! Our temperatures don’t feel better until late October. I’m ready for it though.
Not many trees change here in Charleston. For most of the fall I’m confused because the temperature remains very warm. I love to travel to VA in the fall because I can watch the trees start to change color and I think it’s so beautiful.
I can only imagine how beautiful autumn must be in Colorado. The air is definitely changing here in Southern California, but we’ve got mostly palm trees and they pretty much stay the same all year round 🙂
We are getting some beautiful yellows here in California 🙂 Although, the weather here today is 95 degrees. Bring on the fall!
I’m with you. Sooo over all of the 90+ days.
We have *some* trees that change here, and they’ve started too. I LOVE the fall! I hope it will be cool here – often Sep/Oct can be our hottest (and most fire-prone) months.
We’re all too familiar with that phenomenon.
Our leaves are starting to change, too, although where we are in Alberta, they’re not the vivid reds and oranges that graced our trees in Ontario. Yellow we have in abundance. Time for hot cocoa and pumpkin recipes!
Yessss! Bring in the pumpkin spice lattes. 😊
Wow that’s early! Ours won’t change til October
They start now but most of the yellow ones do it out of self-defense from the heat I suspect. They’ll continue until the first snow. They just can’t hold on any more. 😉
I just looked to see if there were a color change in our back yard, but the cactus is still green.
At least it’s not brown. 😉
Perhaps you’ll get some doubly vibrant sunsets to make up for that!
During Bronco season, that is a given. 😉
looking forward to the color show! I think after the heat of this broiling summer quite a few of us poodles are! (Cole made us honorary poodles) Leeanna
Yay…I always wanted to be a poodle! Sweet Cole-❤️ and miss him. 🐩
we saw the fabulous colored leaves yesterday… I felt like a child as I saw the pile our community workers made… sadly I’m adult and they wouldn’t understand when I jump in this pile with ruining their work of hours LOL
Heh, heh. I confess we have done that once or twice before. Ok, every year. 😉
Indeed she is and it was a lovely Spring Day here in the Arid Lands. Beautiful sunshine, and I even turned on the A/C in the car. Sadly it want last and the forecast for tomorrow is for heavy rain – such a fickle temptress!!
Feel free to send the rain drops eastward, we can use some. 😉
