🎶 Jingle Bells 🎶

🎶 Dashing through the snow, in a two dog open sleigh,
Over the paths we go, squealing all the way
Bells on poofed up tails, making spirits bright
What fun it is to not fall down in a two Spoo sleigh tonight! 🎶

img_3933This rewrite of the classic tune is a direct result from our last snow storm and cold spell that turned a couple of sleepy dogs into rejuvenated and very frisky poodles on their walk. We wish you and yours a safe and happy Christmas!

Live, love, bark! <3

  2. In Dillan Thomas’s, “A child’s Christmas in Wales”, there is a line that simply goes, ‘The Dog was sick’. I have thought to myself a hundred times over the past couple of days when saving my standard poodle, Mr. Darcy, from the temptation of gift wraped packages of chocolate he had sniffed out under the Christmas tree and leftover hors d’oeuvres left lying around by visitors, how true that is of the season. So far we have not had to deal with any misadventures although a visiting cousin-dog, a Cairn Terrier, made a futile leap at the turkey on Christmas Day, (she was much too tiny to do any damage).

    1. When you have a dog, especially at Christmas, it’s like having a small baby around, times 2. A constant vigil eye is absolutely necessary in keeping them safe. Sounds like you survived relatively unscathed. 😉

  3. Merry Christmas, Monika. No snow here. Kids were in the pool with my cousins. They’re in their twenties and muck around with them and have a ball. I love that aspect of our large family get-togethers.
I somehow ate too much, despite skipping dinner but had a wonderful day. My aunt’s dogs spent the day full of optimism and there was also a family of magpies waiting to be fed at the kitchen window. My aunt seems to feed them daily.

    1. After the single digits of the first part of the week we’ve been more seasonal the last few days though severe winds were prevalent today (46 mph – approx. 76 kmh if I’m figuring properly) driving back from my mom’s. Yikes, my poor little car was blown all over the road!!

    2. My own siblings used to have a rousing game of football with loads of beers in the past but now we’re all so creaky and ‘ancient’ we’re just glad to see one another show up. LOL Funny what getting older does for the sensibilities. 😉

  4. rain for us today no snow…sigh
    your first Christmas with Elsa!!
please take pics of the pups for us.
may your holiday be all that you hoped for and more.
