Weekend Shenanigans

Woo-hoo…it’s the weekend. Elsa here. Mom didn’t post yesterday because her youngest sister was in town from Texas and her family got together again. She was celebrating her 40th anniversary but I’m not sure what an anniversary is exactly. A day is just a day for us dogs. I politely asked stole the blog so I could share life as I see it. While that goofball brother was slacking off in the living room, I snuck back in the bedroom before mom had a chance to make her bed. Sure, I heard her calling me and looking all over but decided I needed a few more 💤. Besides, I’m a Standard Poodle and have my own agenda. Getting up early on Saturday wasn’t on it.

Why she giggled at me, I have no idea. Sometimes mom is as silly as Sam. Maybe he gets his dopiness from her? Anyway, we hope you all have a ‘furbulous’ weekend!

Live, love, bark! ❤︎

      1. I have to admit that Kali’s “extra” 3 pounds she’s carrying is because I’m weak and can’t resist her sad and pleading face when I come into the room. She alternates looks to me and the cookie jar and guess who caves?

        1. My sister was here visiting last week; we weren’t sure if she could fly back to the Austin area over the weekend (she needed to get back to work today). She did make it home, they lost a tree from the wind and had loads of rain but they are good. The real rain accumulation and flooding is farther south, from Corpus Christi to Houston. Houston is really bad. We’re holding our breath since my daughter just moved there a month ago! The next few days will be tough-it’s supposed to rain through Thursday.

  1. Happy Anniversary!!!

And I agree…Weekends are for sleeping in! My humom is so grateful now that my puppy days are over, we can sleep in together.

  2. Noticed Elsa up on the bed and thought she must be the one who inspired Lady to make my son’s bed her second home, especially after hearing how she’s been corrupting Sam. Lady would also disappear on the black, satin sheets and she’d love that. She knows how to use her colouring as camouflage and is quite a hunter given the opportunity.
40 years is a serious achievement. My husband and I have clocked up 16 years and that’s been filled with ups and downs and many miraculous feats of survival.
Hope you have a great week.

    1. Thank you. Both my sisters were lucky enough to find great husbands, my other sister has been married close to 45. Very happy for them. They seemed to get the marriage good luck in our family. 😇

Yup, Miss Elsa seems to enjoy my bed as well as all of the others scattered throughout the house.

  3. You are a smart girl, Elsa, weekends are for napping! Sometimes our beagle Cricket disappears and that’s exactly where we find her too. 🙂

  4. 40 years!!!! Wow!!!! Mom says she is lucky she had one divorce already because she can’t imagine being with ANYONE for 40 years!! BOL!! Happy National Dog Day! Barks and licks and love, Dakota

    1. Haha. I’m a two time loser myself. Heck I don’t think I could count to 40 let alone live with anyone that long. My sis and her hubs are two of the sweetest people around and make a terrific couple. 💖

  5. I’m with you, Elsa. I didn’t get myself up this morning until 9am! Fortunately, Tippy doesn’t mind sleeping in either, so we both got a few extra zzz’s. We’re sending up prayers for all those in Texas too.

  6. I’m with you Elsa. as i write this I’m in bed with my cat tucked up against me.
hope your family members from Texas are doing ok.
to all readers from Texas..sending prayers and hugs your way.

Feel free to bark your thoughts...but no growling please.
