Woo-hoo…it’s the weekend. Elsa here. Mom didn’t post yesterday because her youngest sister was in town from Texas and her family got together again. She was celebrating her 40th anniversary but I’m not sure what an anniversary is exactly. A day is just a day for us dogs. I politely asked stole the blog so I could share life as I see it. While that goofball brother was slacking off in the living room, I snuck back in the bedroom before mom had a chance to make her bed. Sure, I heard her calling me and looking all over but decided I needed a few more 💤. Besides, I’m a Standard Poodle and have my own agenda. Getting up early on Saturday wasn’t on it.
Why she giggled at me, I have no idea. Sometimes mom is as silly as Sam. Maybe he gets his dopiness from her? Anyway, we hope you all have a ‘furbulous’ weekend!
Live, love, bark! ❤︎
Elsa – I bet your goofball brother might have got some treats while he was commandeering the cute factor while you slept. Just saying’….
Indeed. He’s nothing if not a major manipulator. I cannot resist his head laying against my thigh like a hug, and looking up innocently.
I have to admit that Kali’s “extra” 3 pounds she’s carrying is because I’m weak and can’t resist her sad and pleading face when I come into the room. She alternates looks to me and the cookie jar and guess who caves?
I’m glad her sister was here and not in Texas where the flooding is. Hope it was an enjoyable weekend.
Thanks. It was a very bumpy ride getting back home but she made it. We had a great visit even if it was too short.
Is your sister still with you or where did she go? I just concerned with most of Texas under water from “Harvey”.
My sister was here visiting last week; we weren’t sure if she could fly back to the Austin area over the weekend (she needed to get back to work today). She did make it home, they lost a tree from the wind and had loads of rain but they are good. The real rain accumulation and flooding is farther south, from Corpus Christi to Houston. Houston is really bad. We’re holding our breath since my daughter just moved there a month ago! The next few days will be tough-it’s supposed to rain through Thursday.
I wish your sister the best
Thank you!
Your Welcome
Happy Anniversary!!!
And I agree…Weekends are for sleeping in! My humom is so grateful now that my puppy days are over, we can sleep in together.
Naps with huMoms are the best!
Party at your place then. Happy anniversary, xx Speedy
Thanks, Speedy. We had a great pawty!
Noticed Elsa up on the bed and thought she must be the one who inspired Lady to make my son’s bed her second home, especially after hearing how she’s been corrupting Sam. Lady would also disappear on the black, satin sheets and she’d love that. She knows how to use her colouring as camouflage and is quite a hunter given the opportunity.
40 years is a serious achievement. My husband and I have clocked up 16 years and that’s been filled with ups and downs and many miraculous feats of survival.
Hope you have a great week.
xx Ro
Thank you. Both my sisters were lucky enough to find great husbands, my other sister has been married close to 45. Very happy for them. They seemed to get the marriage good luck in our family. 😇
Yup, Miss Elsa seems to enjoy my bed as well as all of the others scattered throughout the house.
Happy anniversary, 40 years that’s mighty impressive if you ask me. Benji
Indeed! They had a great celebration.
You are a smart girl, Elsa, weekends are for napping! Sometimes our beagle Cricket disappears and that’s exactly where we find her too. 🙂
Gotta love hanging out…all weekend long! Sweet Cricket, how adorable she knows right where to chill. 😉
Pawfect way to start the weekend Elsa.
3 bum swings! 3 more!💜
Nose nudges,
CEO Olivia
Well, unless you buy some black satin sheets, at least Elsa can’t hide from you while on the bed!
Been there, done that, slid off the bed. 😆
Hahahaha! I know what you mean!
Nothing like waking up on the floor!
40 years!!!! Wow!!!! Mom says she is lucky she had one divorce already because she can’t imagine being with ANYONE for 40 years!! BOL!! Happy National Dog Day! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
Haha. I’m a two time loser myself. Heck I don’t think I could count to 40 let alone live with anyone that long. My sis and her hubs are two of the sweetest people around and make a terrific couple. 💖
Napping is my favorite shenanigan! Enjoy, E.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Happy napping, Cupcake!
I wish I could have slept in this morning too, Elsa, but glad I had 3 great dogs to groom starting at 8:30!
Busy weekend. Beside to rest when you can. Us girls need our beauty sleep. 😍
Enjoyed your post Elsa. Enjoy your weekend with family. HaPpY Anniversary to the loving couple. 💕🎉
Many thanks! The anniversary couple had a great celebration. 😍
Great! You should be very proud. 😎
You have a pawesome weekend, too!
Everyone important sleeps late on weekends so there is no reason to get up early…hehe
That’s a great way to think of it!
Don’t worry Elsa, we sleep in on weekends too 😄
Doesn’t everyone? 😆
I sleep in, and under, and around the yard, and in my dog house, and on my special dog bed…and pretty much where ever I can! Boomer
I think all dogs do but this pic was odd in that she usually stays in the same room as me and never goes back into the bedroom. Seems as if my girl is a bit of a teenager! BOL
Goofiness is catching and I ought to know. We’re all goofy here.
I’m with you, Elsa. I didn’t get myself up this morning until 9am! Fortunately, Tippy doesn’t mind sleeping in either, so we both got a few extra zzz’s. We’re sending up prayers for all those in Texas too.
What on earth are we doing awake at this hour on a Saturday??!?! 🤣 I’m going back to sleep. Nite-nite. 😴
Precisely!
Shadow decided she REALLY needed to go out, so here we are out in the yard. Thank God for my Keurig coffee maker!
If you have to be up early, being in the company of a dog and a nice cup of coffee makes it at least enjoyable. 😍
Or bearable anyway. 😁 Have a great day! Hoping all in Harvey’s paths stay safe!
Bearable is good, especially on those cold mornings. Yes, we too are thinking of everyone in Harvey’s way. Happy weekend.
there is nothing wrong with sleping a lot… I do that too… sleepers can’t be sinners, right?
Exactly. LOL 😂
I’m with you Elsa. as i write this I’m in bed with my cat tucked up against me.
hope your family members from Texas are doing ok.
to all readers from Texas..sending prayers and hugs your way.
