Monday Musings ~ October 30, 2017

Greetings. Elsa and Sam here. Mom was looking for some Howliween inspiration and thought this would be fun with left over Easter egg coloring tablets.

We told her if she did that she might as well build this sign while she’s at it. We apparently convinced her of our major Cujo skills and she decided on a ‘simpler’ approach. She’ll be lucky if she gets to brush us now or add a festive collar.

Here’s hoping the week starts off with smiles and treats, not retreats. Happy Monday.

Live, love, bark! ❤︎

  1. This post made me howl with laughter. The Poodle would go Cujo most likely. He grudgingly sports his rain jacket but only after I have to hunt him down to get it on. My sis had her pooch Nica wearing a pink tu-tu on Halloween. Miss Nica didn’t even blink. In fact, I think she rather liked it. Go figure. 🙂

    1. It funny because the fur-kids love wearing bandanas but that the extent of any allowed clothes wearing. We were at the hospital on Halloween and I put a Davy Jones locker hat on Sam, you should have seen the stink eye he gave me. Didn’t seem to mind the visitors fawning all over his ‘costume’ but as soon as they left, he’d shake it off. At least I tried, right? 🤣

  2. OMD, I gots to come live with you guys! YOu should see what Ma put on me THIS year! sigh.
Okays, so the headbands are TOO bad, I gets those off in like 15 seconds, and I DO likes my giraffe one (shhhh, don’t tells her, k?) butts THIS…THIS was just too much!
    you’ll see…
    Kisses
    Ruby ♥
pees: the end of that sign says…AIREDALE!

  3. I’m with Sam and Elsa on this one. LOL Hope your week goes well also. Tippy and I will be hibernating up on our little hill tomorrow night. I don’t do trick or treat anymore. Living out in the country, there aren’t many people who come by anymore anyway. They all go into town for the trunk-or-treat extravaganza where they can get loads of candy in a short amount of time. Sort of takes the fun out of it, if you ask me.

      1. Oh my! Around here, if your porch light isn’t on, people don’t come around. They know they aren’t welcome, which sounds mean, I guess, but there are reasons. It helps that I live a quarter of a mile off of the road with a gate at the bottom of my driveway.

  4. I thought the poodle were adorable, especially if it is Easter time. 🙂 It would be a bit hard to do that on Elsa, though. My pups will be spending tomorrow evening naked in a secure, non-scary part of the house while the trick or treating is going on.

    1. Just like my two knuckleheads. I’m astounded at the level of fur dying that goes on with groomers on poodles. Along with the pups, I’m not a fan. Give us a simple ‘puppy’ cut and we’re happy as clams at high tide. Anything else, there’s growling on both sides of the clippers. 😇

            1. I think too many owners forget (or more likely don’t want to remember) to ask about anal gland depression until their poor pooch is scooching across the floor. I know I’m guilty of it and it can be a problem in poodles.

              1. The vet I worked for years ago told me only vets should be doing that, as it is easy to harm the dog if you don’t do it just right. Also, I’ve been reading lately that most of the time, anal glands get “addicted” (my phrase) to being expressed and would simply respond to the dog scooting if left alone.

  5. a collar is a good costume… I will go as the nekked weimaraner this year ;I)
btw: stay away from easter egg coloring stuff… the mama once used it for her furs… she looked horrible… and her cruelty parents sent her to scool anyway…

Feel free to bark your thoughts...but no growling please.
