Monday Musings

Did you wake up easily enough today? Not the best way to start out the week, is it? Speaking of this week, we’re off to the hospital for a few days so our comments may (or may not) be late. Hopefully we can get some things set in advance on the scheduler but if not, now you know why. Now to grab that 87th cup of coffee. Have a great week.

Live, love, bark❣

  1. LOL! I saw a meme that recommended the day after the losing an hour in the time change should be a national holiday! I completely agree!

  2. Oh, Ma has been havin’ problems!!! super tired! Butts, me??! No prob! I even asked (demanded) my dinner on time! Ma’s gonna go take a nap nows…you knows ~ today IS National Napping Day!!!
    Kisses,

  3. Love the pictures. That is so funny! I have no real rhythm to my sleep anyway, so an hour one way or the other really doesn’t affect me too much. Tippy was a bit like the picture when I got up early yesterday morning. She really wasn’t ready to get up at 6am/5am. LOL

  4. Oh yes! The dreaded Daylight Savings Time! Our Mama is on her elebity hundredth coffee today. Hope your hospital visits are successful 🙂

  5. UGH do we really have to go thru the time change in this day & age? The farmers’ do not need more light! The war is over! Please someone decide on one standard of time & stick to it!! I actually prefer the Autumn/Winter hours. I feel more balanced.
So far Siddhartha Henry & I have not made the adjustment. He ate supper at 3:30pm old time 4:30pm now time…far too early….so who knows when he wants his 9 pm snack…..it probably will NOT be at 9…..
I am so tired I have no idea what day it is….
    Welcome to Spring right Monika?
{{{hugs}}} Sherri-Ellen & **nose rubsss** Siddhartha Henry xxxx

    1. I know, dumbest thing ever conceived to keep this in place. Both dogs are snoozing much more during the day, but hopefully all of us will get back to being more balanced and enjoy the extra hour of sunshine. 🌞

      1. Same here Monika! I think Siddhartha Henry is actually depressed. He is OK physically (I checked & rechecked) but he seems sad…. I take him out daily for a wee walk even if only for 2-3 minutes. We have snow here so it is still cold… *sighs*

  6. I didn’t have any trouble waking up this morning because I woke up at midnight and could not.. did not go back to sleep. I am useless today so I just pushed a mop around the tile floors and called it a day!

    1. Thanks-visits are always impactful. I’ll eventually adjust, Elsa’s adjustment period is more problematic since her daily anti-seizure meds that must be timely precisely to avoid brain activity imbalance.

  7. I don’t go to work on Mondays, but had a 10:30 appointment that I almost missed! Woke up, said to hubby who had taken the day off, “Just let the dogs out and I’ll get up and feed them,” and fell promptly back to sleep!

  8. Actually, the time change didn’t have any real effect on me this time. I forgot to set my watch ahead, but I’ll get around to it sooner or later. I never wear the thing around the house anyway; and I depend more on the clock on my phone than my watch.

Hope y’all have a good week at the hospital! Maybe what you need is one of those “turbo”, super-caffeinated coffees from Starbucks?

  9. All the griping about going in/out of DST got old a long time ago. If you make a big deal about something then it becomes a big deal. The human circadian rhythm is less than 24 hours so spring is a breeze, fall takes more getting used to. My bedtime and waking times sometimes change by more than an hour , so DST is no big deal.
Besides, I would much rather have an extra hour of daylight in the evening than the morning. I may walk the dogs at 8 pm on a hot day, but I can guarantee I am not going to walk them at 430 am no what the forecast heat will be

    1. Actually it is a big deal when you have a pet who suffers from seizures and needs meds timely at precise times. I’ll eventually get back in rhythm, but Elsa isn’t that easily adaptive. 😇

  10. We didn’t mind the change too much, the fall back change is a lot harder. But our Dad is out of town and we miss him – he is the one we can count on to give us some extra snacks:)

  11. Every year we go through this exhausting transitional period. Good thing dogs can sleep until they want. Poor huMom’s eyes are so deep in her head I not sure how she sees 😉
Have a pawsome week at the Hospital making people smile.

  12. I’m definitely needing more coffee today! I actually forgot to set my alarm for this morning, so I got to catch up a little bit on that lost hour. I wonder if I subconsciously did that on purpose? 🙂
On another plus note….the animals didn’t even know their breakfast was late!!
Hope all goes well at the hospital this week.

  13. Oh I nose just how that feels! Mondays should ALWAYS start wiv a puppicino
