What’s Going On Thursday?

Oh May…you’re turning out to be a real stinker. What started out with loads of promise has turned into a real cluster. With migraines, seizures, and hail storms this week (my garden and I say thank you very little Mother Nature), I had to wonder out loud when I recently heard the classic Marvin Gaye song from the 1970’s. Little things have started to add up to give current times a flavor much like what was going on back when Marvin was ‘sultrifying’ the airwaves. Though different issues, there still is this pervasive question at the back of my mind: What’s Going On here?

This little guy seems to be asking the same question as I have this week…what is going on? Elsa and I are on the mend (with special thanks all for the kind well wishes and POTP). With temperatures rising into the 90’s for the next few days, we plant to hunker down and ride the waves through life’s up’s and down’s. It’s all a person or pup can do, right? How are things on your end?

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. We’re so sorry you had such a bad week last week. Ugh. I dealt with a migraine too – who has time for that garbage?? Our weather has been dry, dry, dry, so it seems like every day all I’m doing is watering plants.
I think we’re finally do for a good rain early next week, and I hope your new week brings better things too. ♥

  2. We had a few hot days here near Woodstock NY, and today is lovely fresh rain, normal and seasonal like when we used to have seasons. I demand decent seasons in our yard, and we get them, thank goodness. Our squirrels and chipmunks and birds and deer are doing fine, with some baby ones in the garden–but the headaches from barometric pressure are not good, and there are also convulsions sometime shere too. Oh well–best wishes to all!

  4. Asking the same qestion here! We have had the hottiest May ever, 14 days over 25 C/ 77 F, and that is the border here between warm and hot. Now the whole nature is whispering “water, water, water, please”. Something is really wrong.

  5. Squirrel!!! Xena and Lucy
We’re having periods of showers and sun, temps high 70’s, low 80’s. But who knows what tomorrow will bring. It sure has been a crazy spring. Hope you are both A-OK real soon.

  6. Ugh…nothing more discouraging than a Colo. hailstorm to demolish everything that’s blooming! Seems like we need to be more resilient now than ever….

    1. A Colorado hail storm can turn lettuce and spinach leaves into shreds. The good news is everything affected should be ok and at least it’s not even close to last May’s $1.4 billion damages. 😊

  7. we are about 40 min from each other and have different weather patterns. I have not enjoyed the extreme heat but the rain yesterday left us with cooler breezes last night, whew. In fact, Milo was a brat because he was finally cool enough! Hope your weather is more amenable to both of you so you can enjoy the summer.

    1. It’ll be a hot one today (thank goodness the AC guy arrives and I can turn the stove back on to cook things ☺️). The metro area has micro climates all over. We had a teeny shower last night and I NEVER complain about water from the sky these days.

  8. Little things do know how to add up! I hope that soon little NICE things can begin adding up for you and Elsa. Glad to hear you both are on the mend. Hang in there! Surf the wave and hopefully smooth waters will come soon.

  9. Much the same my furiend, much the same.
Hot, humid weather with risk of storms present. As I paw these keys the rain is thundering down. GG is ouffing as he run to the door to get back in. The bloodsucking bugs are swarming anything breathing.
HuMom has also been suffering with migranes & I had a seizure Monday morning. It was quick but it still takes it’s toll.
HuMom needs to go wandering & gathering today so she’ll be gone most of the afternoon. I don’t like that at all!
No, I’m never left alone but I still don’t like when she’s gone.
Sending pawsitive strength & energy to you & Elsa.
Sam you take care of your sister & mom; they need you.

    What’s Going On Indeed!💜

    1. So sorry to hear your Monday was also visited by the Epi-Monster. As you pointed out, even the little ones take their toll. Hope you all get through the summer storms unscathed. Hugs and tail wags.

  10. I find myself thinks WTF a lot these days. I fight the temptation to just accept “things”, ok mostly the political environment, as the new normal. As I reject the notion that 60 is the new 40 I too reject the notion that Stupid is the new OK. (Thanks for the therapy session🙃). Glad the crew at the ranch is on the mends.

    1. And a great group therapy it was, Michael! I’m right there with you. Some days the weight of everything just weighs a heart and soul down and it takes our fur-iends to help us get out of the WTF thought rut. Thank YOU!

  11. Glad you guys are on the mend. Sometimes the little things pile up into mountains. Hopefully things will calm down for you. As for me, I’ve had a bout of the stomach flu and tonsillitis. (First time to have the latter ever! In 58 years.) Feeling better. Busy weekend ahead with our county wide Relay For Life. I’m hoping to be able to get back to some semblance of normal next week.

    1. You’re so right on the little things adding up. So sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather. I hope you’re fully recovered to have a terrific Relay for Life event this weekend. Sending oodles of poodles feel better thoughts and tail wags.
