Floral Friday ~ June 15, 2018

It’s Friday and that means it’s time to check out the flowers. Most of our flowers have finished blooming and the various planted wildflowers are still kind of thinking about blooming. For a minute I thought I’d have to share some recent watercolors I’ve been working on. Boy, are you guys lucky that I walked around to the side yard and found this. Perhaps this Canadian scrub rose is ‘rioting’ at the recent decision of the US applying tariffs on Canadian imports?

Here’s a closeup. Isn’t that pink exquisite?

Here’s wishing you a super-duper pink Friday and an even better weekend. Happy Father’s Day to Dad’s everywhere.

Live, love, bark! ๐Ÿพ

  1. Oh these roses are beautiful Monika! Do they come in other colors? We have some bushes over by the cars that look the same as yours but flowers are yellow. I used to say they were Wild Prairie Rose…someone said I was wrong…now I’m not so sure! LOL ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Oooooooo! Those are FABulous!!!! Ma doesn’t knows how it happened, butts she was watering all the plants today, and realized that almost all of her flowers are PINK! She didn’t do this on purpose, or maybe she did, who knows, she’s a little wacky anyways. BOL!!! I thinks those have every right to RIOT! frickin’….waits, I’m not supposed to repeat what Ma yells at the teevees…..

  3. Wow, those sure are “rioting”!!! Their color is absolutely amazing! And your joke made me laugh. They have every right to riot over our administration’s treatment of Canada.

  4. Lovely. I took a picture of some Rhododendrons recently because they were such a pretty pink/purple colour. I know they’re technically a weed but I couldn’t resist.

  5. Wonderful floowers! Unfortunately we can’t have (m)any, because the deer would eat them. Well, instead of looking at beautiful flowers, we LOVE watching the deer. It’s as much pleasure.
    Have a great day,

          1. Well, we – of course – will never consider the deer “pests”. This “honorific” is reserved for the raccoon [at least we believe it is one] that always throws down our birdfeeders from the trees and quite often damages them.

            1. We have a few raccoons here too but they aren’t nearly as bad as the squirrels. I think ours are too chubby to cause too much mischief. Then again I don’t have bird feeders so maybe they just avoid my yard preferring to hit easier pickin’s.

Feel free to bark your thoughts...but no growling please.
