Wash Day Wednesday ~ July 25, 2018

We’re off to West Pines today which requires Sam get bathed. Do you think he could be any more pitiful? The scar looks worse when he’s wet but does seem to look more pronounced than we thought though the vet said the hair might grow in but it could take a couple of months. I rather doubt it, but it does kind of give him some street cred.

Elsa was afraid she might be the next bath victim subject when Sam was finished and immediately declared ‘King’s X’ and ran to her self-designated safe spot. These knuckleheads should get an Emmy for best dramatic performance by a dog.

I am declaring a time-out. I’m not taking a bath, no how, no way.

Happy Hump Day.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

    1. Not necessary and certainly evil judging by the grimaced faces. Luckily they have pretty short memories. I mean, we are dealing with an intellect on the same level as a radish, right? 🤣

  1. Sorry about the bath, Sam. I had a thing cut out of my nose – and stitches. All have been removed now and I am happy to report that it has not altered my profile in any way. I don’t see that your scar has made you any less handsome.

  2. Oh dude, I likes your scar! You can say that a pack of rabid wolves tried to attack your Moms, butts you fought them off and they ran away with their tails between their leggies! That’s your story, and you are sticking to it!
Elsa, I gots you gurl! I so understand….My safe spot is under the kitchen table. If Ma wants to gets me, she has to hit her head to do it! ☺
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  3. Uh Oh! What happened to Sam?!! We are in summer mode and way behind in visiting 🙁
Elsa, Avalon feels the same way you do about baths! She will go to great lengths not to get one!!
We hope you are all enjoying the summer 🙂

the critters in the cottage xo

    1. Sam has his teeth cleaned and a couple of tiny growths removed. He’s fine and happy to have had those annoying stitches removed. We’re totally over the summer heat and are counting down the days to the start of autumn. Don’t work so hard 😇

    1. Surprisingly no one asked about it today during our visits. But there were other issues that had more import at the detox center as well as the treatment center so I’m grateful for that.

  4. Oh, that wound healed so nicely. We bet the hair grows in and long around it before long. Handsome Sam.

  5. Take him up to Sturgis and have him sit in the bar and tell everyone that he got the scar fighting wolverines. He’ll never have to buy his own beer.

  6. Elsa looks like her butt is glued to the dog bed. “If you wash me, you’ll have to wash my bed, too, and I know there isn’t room for that.”
Sam will soon forget the bath for the joy of doing his pawsome job.

  7. Oh, those baths!! I remember when I used to give Kissy her baths. But she was so easy…she let me do just about anything. It was the drying off part she didn’t like. I guess having the towel wrapped around her was a little scary. Bless her heart. I wish Ducky were that easy!

  8. Many dogs seem to be all about the drama! If only I had a nickel for every time I used the term “drama queen”. LOL

  9. The hair will curl around the scar so it’s not as noticeable. Cole’s never grew hair again, but luckily naturally curly hair fills in gaps. He can tell the girls it was a rough squirrel incident.

  10. Why not have Sam follow that old cowboy rule, “I have a bath once a year, even if it’s not necessary.”? 😀

Feel free to bark your thoughts...but no growling please.
