Monday Musings ~ June 10, 2019

Happy Monday, peeps! Hope you had a brilliant weekend; I spent mine volunteering at an agility event to benefit a rescue group I’ve long supported. It was a lot like a dog show. On steroids. Whoa, what a fun but exhausting day. I’ll never understand how those pups manage to keep up that pace racing over obstacles and weaving through poles barking while they’re doing it. Talk about sheer joy for their sport that these super-star athletes have! To my great surprise, one of our hospital pet therapists competed and did quite well. More on that hopefully tomorrow.

But before then, let’s start the week out with a bit of a smile. Creating hybrid dogs have become quite the phenomenon these days but it just may have gone over the top with this one. With Bern-a-doodles, Sheep-a-doodles, Labradoodles, Goldendoodles to name a few, there appears to be no shortage of new breeds being created all the time, but this may just be getting out of hand. Seems like some people will breed a poodle to just about anything to obtain a striking new variety of ‘doodle.’ While some combinations make sense, some absolutely do not. Don’t get me started on the clothes they ‘put’ on this doodle!  Even the guy in the upper right hand corner thinks someone went a doodle too far.

Poodle

Have a great Monday and week, but don’t forget to smile while you’re doing it.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

    1. I know, there probably isn’t enough eye bleach for everyone, for which I’m truly sorry. But I hope it at least provided you with a smile.

    1. Umm, so sorry. I should have warned folks about this scruffy new doodle. 😊

  1. You’re right – it is more than disturbing: the hairdressing term “short back and sides” takes on a whole new meaning..

  2. Sounds like you had lots of fun and I can only imagine. Mom tried one day to weave through poles but I took them out and ran away with it, laughing all the way. She laughed so much she couldn’t catch me and well, that was the beginning and the end of that. 🤣

I am glad I am not a hybrid and you are right when you say it’s getting out of hand. Mom sometimes doodle with her pen and I think that is the closest she’ll ever get to doodling. 😅

Mom and I just took one look at the photo and laughed. You are just so funny! 😁😂🤣

    1. Sam would laugh hysterically at me if I tried training him to do agility. Right before he called Uber for a ride!

      1. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Now Mom and I are laughing hysterically this side! We can just see that little scene! 😅😂🤣

  3. Ya gotta give the guy some points. I mean to flaunt your fuzzy like that, ya gotta be comfy in your own skin… Buahahaha… except in summer when you can’t remove your fur coat!

      1. They always do. Have lousy fashion sense, that is.
Just like the fatties with the belly hanging way over their belts are the first to take off their shirts…. blech.

        1. Nothing worse than a 60 year old in a Speedo who thinks he’s still 20.

  4. I applaud you for your volunteer work.

I need eye bleach with the hairy guy. That’s just plain GROSS. I did laugh though.

Have a fabulous day and week. ♥

    1. Hahaha! And I really laughed out loud with your ‘eye bleach’ comment. Yeah, it was so alarming for me too, I probably should have included a warning.

  5. There’s a video on Facebook showing a trainer putting a cat thru an obstacle course. She didn’t have a dog to work with, so tried a cat. The cat did well for a beginner–and they are trainable despite what people think.

  6. Yes, we did have a wonderful weekend – lazily watching our deer and their young – as you have seen by now on my blog. We also had some very good rain last night. So, vereything’s fine.
Have a wonderful week up there in the Mile-High-City! Btw, Mary’s cousin from Denver is coming down for a few days.

    1. Especially in this case! 😃People here are taking this hybridization thing too far and charging big bucks for what is essentially a mixed breed pet.

    1. Sorry-I know that image was rather cringe-worthy but hope it elicited at least a sliver of a smile.

    1. Bwahaha, ‘guyadoodle.’ That’s one breed I don’t want to see gain in popularity!

    1. I know, right? I couldn’t stop laughing even though the whole look is more than slightly disturbing.
