On a day when the forecast is calling for temperatures in the upper 90’s, I wish I were back at Blaue Haus Café , a charming 100 year old house located in Oberstaufen, Germany (Bavaria) where the folkart was whimsical, the coffee and cake delicious and the garden charming and peaceful. How about you?

It was one of the loveliest Victorian homes I’ve been in with each room styled according to color. The blue room was my favorite. No, wait, the red room…um, maybe the green room-no it was definitely the white room. Oh heck, I loved them all! 😍

I simply would like to eat one more dinner in a restaurant in town that has long since closed. I always made our reservations for the book room. It was literally just that. A room lined wall to wall with books. There was something about eating in that room, it just added to the whole experience.
Those kinds of places in the middle of a crazy, hectic world are such a spot of sanctuary and comfort.

This (basically) B&B had such charming corners and nooks. I could have stayed there for days.
