    1. It’s west of Cologne & Bonn, close to the Belgium border. Isn’t it like a fairytale?

  1. When Granny saw the picture, she said to me “look, Binky, I have been there not so long ago” and then she smiled😸Great Picture, Monica! Pawkisses for a Happy Thankful Thursday🐾😽💞

    1. Isn’t it a wonderful place to visit? I just loved it and the graciousness of the Count and his staff.

  2. Burg Satzvey is now on my bucket list! It is in an area of Germany I have yet to visit. Too many places in the world to visit and too little time (and money – LOL)

        1. It’s a great place to visit for many reasons. They even offer a course called ‘Ritterschule’ (Knights’ School) – where you learn how to put on armor and see if you have what it takes to be a knight.

            1. I know my limitations. I’m not nimble in normal clothes, but in armour…hahahaha!

    1. He could do worse! But the family that owns it have been there since the 1700’s. I think you’re safe.

        1. I’m sure he’d meet his match from a family that has owned the castle for 400 years.

      1. Thanks for the clarification. Once I saw your answer to easyweimeraner, I realized that I had passed that castle quite a few times on bicycle tours. I only didn’t recognize that view as I’ve never done more than hust peek inside through the gate.

        1. It a lovely place to visit. You should have stopped by and had lunch or a beer. Nice restaurant inside the courtyard. 🚴🏼‍♂️

          1. Well, these were my younger days [sadly days gone by ;D ], when I quite often was in kind of a “racing mode” = going on and on.

    1. You can stay in one of the rooms for about the same rate as nearby hotels. It’s one of the loveliest moated castles in all of Germany.
