Hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s off to West Pines we go.🎶 After many patient and staff visits (and more than a few ‘dates with nurses’) at hospital yesterday, Sam is off to West Pines this morning. We had loads of interaction with all sorts of folks yesterday from two year olds to eighty plus year olds including a surprising number of visits at hospice. Since it was the first time this summer that Sam has been back, I wasn’t sure how he’d do. But my boy proved he’s still got game and was only slightly off kilter. I tried to make yesterday’s shift as easy as possible and he seemed to enjoy the lighter duty. His hospital friends we always visit were very happy to see his sweet face. When I saw the smiles he put on people’s faces, I know he was back in his element despite being tuckered out once we returned home. Visits normally take a lot of energy out of him, but after a good night’s sleep, he’s raring to go today and ran toward the garage before our morning constitution.
Happy mid-week. May the slide toward the weekend be an easy one for you.
Live, love, bark! 🐾
Sam looks so handsome in his purple bandana, and then so sweet when he’s sound asleep! ♥
I love watching him snooze. He is at his absolute sweetest.

Thank you sweet kitty. I’ll try to do my best, both on the visits and the naps. 😉
😉 Trust mee Sam…yore xcellent at efurry thing you do!
Sounds like a good day to be had.
Making someone happy isn’t tiring. It’s an uplifting joy.
Sweet boy – we knew he must bring great joy to all who meet him.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Well done, buddy. A nap is a must after a hard day at work. Being adorable can be exhausting.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
You got that right!
…good job Sam…
He will have a great day, I am sure of it. After all he is Sam and I am so glad he is fit and well again. Only three more days for us; Winter will be officially over and Spring (This Sunday) will have sprung. Of course Mother Nature might have other ideas.
So jealous of your official change of seasons. Ours doesn’t arrive until late next month. I hope I haven’t evaporated by then. Tomorrow is another upper 90’sF forecast with no rain in sight.
Go Sam!! We can imagine all the smiles you both bring wherever you visit!
Smiles with a few laughs at his knuckleheaded-ness sprinkled in as well. 🤣
He is such a sweet chap. I can see why people respond to him as they do.
He’s very genuine and not just in it for the tasty treats.
Sam is an amazing doctor. Some people say dogs or cats can’t think, they just do everything by instinct. That for sure is not right. Sam knows what he is doing and why.
Hugs!
oh that sweet boy! So proud of him!!! Bet everyone was THRILLED to see him! LOVE that last photo, LOVE IT! Gorgeous! (or should I say HANDSOME??) xoxo
Tell Sam to pace himself. That’s what all us oldsters need to accept. He looks a bit thinner…is that because of his illness or just lean and mean? Either way, handsome boy and good to see him back on the job.
He’s always been light on his toes but did lose a few pounds when he was sick. I’m stuffing him with treats as much as I can to get him back to his fighting weight.
Knowing you, the treats are probably lovingly made by hand in your kitchen from the purest ingredients! Nothing less for our favorite Spoo. I suspect he’ll gain back a few pounds and be back to fighting weight (actually therapy-giving weight) real soon!
Paws and fingers crossed 🤞🏻
Sam is such a good boy. I know I’d be happy to see him. Thank you both for all you do.
Have a fabulous Wednesday. Scritches to Sam. ♥
I can imagine how much patients love to see Sam. Thanks for sharing.
Patients and nurses adore Sam…and he adores them!
Sweet Sam. He gives so much of himself. Please give him some loving from us.
Sam says thanks for the digital love!
What a wonderful thing you and Sam do to make the needy smile.
Sam does the work, I’m only responsible for transportation (and spiffing him up).
I love to see wonderful working dogs who can’t wait to get to work.
So glad to see Sam feeling “up to snuff” again!! I was concerned for your sweet boy; but I knew my angel girls were watching over him and he would be back to his “knucklehead” self again.
Have a good day at West Pines!!
He is definitely back to being his usual goofball self. I know I was concerned while he was ailing and somewhat impatient for him getting better. Luckily he responded to the treatment. Whew! Thanks to your angel girls watching over my boy.
A good day’s work for Sam!
Your team does wonderful work, bring joy to so many💖💖
Aww, thank you. It’s such rewarding time spent and always makes me feel like we gain more than we give.
What a boy! What a mighty fine boy!
Good to see Sam back and doing his thing. 🙂
I’m glad you had such a good visit. Therapy dogs bring joy to so many people.
They sure do and yesterday’s visits were truly special.
Sam – what a wonderful dog you are to bring smiles to the patients and staff. Have a great rest of the week too!
Whenever Sam can ‘date’ a nurse, you can count him in! Happy Hump Day.
What a beautiful boy.
So glad he’s back on track!
Have a fantabulous day!
Thanks, I’m nearly as excited about going back to West Pines as he is!
Fab!
