Monday Musings ~ November 4, 2019

Happy Monday! The Knuckleheads are sharing today’s smile; they think it is an accurate representation of their torment how they feel on cleaning day. How do your dogs react whenever you pull out the Hoover?

Smil

Here’s to a spotless week with plenty of smiles to get you through the dirty parts.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. BOL!
True enough for GG🐽 Jerry Underfoot 🙀 & Dot🙀 but not so for me 🐕& Q🐾
Q probably doesn’t hear it & I know HuMom would never let anything hurt me. We actually have a game we play. I love it!
    💜nose nudges💜

    1. My old English Sheepdog used to play that game. It makes me smile just recalling her antics with the vacuum. She was a funny dog anyway so thanks for letting me enjoy a moment from yesteryear. 🥰

  2. Benji doesn’t really bother with the main hoover and he just sits in his bed and watches the robot when we activate that. I’m not a cat person but when Annabell activates it I always think of the photograph of the cat sitting on top of the robot as it wanders around doing its thing.

  3. What’s this….calling you sweet furries, Knuckleheads? Quite saying that, they are altruistic but stubborn do gooders. They are like us CC’s.

Vacuums are the devils work. We leave the room when the vacuum comes out. Shoko has been known to whap the vacuum. It didn’t do any good as the vacuum hissed at her.

    1. They wear the Knucklehead moniker well and is always said lovingly. There’s never any hissing at the Ranch, but avoidance with a careful stink eye is always on watch whenever that racket machine comes into a room.

  4. Sasha hides indoors when I mow.
Chuy followed me around when I did, protecting me from the dreaded mower, I guess.

Granddog Bailey despises the leaf rake and attacks it vociferously.
I imagine the broom gets the same treatment.

    Wag more, bark less.

    1. Lots of smiles from me at picturing all these different reactions from pets. Too cute. 😁

    2. Avoidance is big around the Ranch with the vacuum. My last Old English Sheepdog used to chase me and bark/nip at it. Makes me smile just recalling her behavior from years ago.

    1. When our cockatiel was alive she hated the vacuum and let us know in no uncertain terms. S-q-u-a-w-k!!

  5. We are the first two pups (out of 7) that our pawrents have had that don’t worry at all about the vacuum. Sometimes we even get in the way when we continue to lay in a spot that needs to be done. BOL!

    1. Oh, that’s very brave of you guys. Guess we know who’s boss around your house. 🤣Seriously though, I’m always thrilled to see a pup who is confident when it comes to a necessary evil in the household.

  6. OMD, I so IGNORE the vacuum! As a matter of fact, I won’t move if Ma is vacuuming the room….I make her vacuum around me! BOL!!!!! Don’t gets me wrong, I bark my arse off at the hand vac! butts the big upright vac, nope. I also bark my arse off at the leaf blower too ☺
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

    1. You’re one super brave girl, Ruby. I avoid that monster like the plague.
      Your furiend,
      Sam🐾

  7. For all the issues in our house, all the dogs, including Hachi, LOVE the vacuum. That’s good because I vacuum for fun (according to the Runner).

    1. It can be one of the most intimidating machines around-for both humans and pets. 😀

    1. My OES used to bark at it like she wanted it to play with her. She was a funny, funny dog.

  8. Dakota ALWAYS feels he is on a DESTROY mission whenever the vacuum comes out. He “herds” it, chases it, lunges at it, barks at it (incessantly)……….and acts as if he has never seen it in his life and he has seen it for 12 years lol. Cody isn’t really bothered by it amazingly enough……he just leaves the vicinity for a more quiet area.

    1. The Knuckleheads try to act all cool and nonchalant but it’s clear they are not amused by it being brought out.

  9. So true. Our Little Bit hated the vacuum. Hated it. This made me chuckle.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the pups. ♥

    1. My female OES used to chase me and the dreaded vacuum barking her head off. To clean the house, you had to wear noise cancellation headphones between the vacuum and the dog. Have a great week!

    1. From what I know about cats, they seem to prefer quiet over racket. Vacuums are definitely in the racket category.

  10. My girls react to the vacuum in varying degrees. Koda is definitely wary of it it and generally moves to another room while keeping an eye on the growling monster. Kloe finds it a nuisance that she has to get up from a nap when it comes her way. Kali is totally oblivious and the vacuum can come with in an inch of her and she only gets up, reluctantly, when asked to. I on the other hand run the other direction when the vacuumm reads it’s ugly head from the closed for fear I may be asked to use it. 🤓

    1. I think your reaction is embedded in your DNA. My son and brothers had the same reaction. Then again, some females have the same reaction. Clearly they are not Queen aliens. LOL
