Embarrassed to admit how much time I spent looking for a little animal or something hidden in the photo. Then I read the comments and realized I was supposed to enjoy it for what it is. I guess art is not my forte.
A-ha! Sometimes little critters are not the star of a photo. ( know, hard to believe with me, but there was something zen-like about the arrangement of that cone and needles below that stone.
I now have THREE friends in Houston: you, our French friend Pierre, and my dog groom and work friend, Laurie. I do think we’re going to have to plan a trip to Houston next year. (What month usually has the best weather?)
Summers would be unbearable for me in the south. It may get hot in Denver (90’s and above) but the humidity hardly ever cracks double digits. It’s a ‘dry heat.’ 😆
Lulu: “Pine cone! Not for eating, or so I’m told!”
They make a great toy to toss around though, Lulu. 😆
A beautiful picture has so much to say💗Pawkisses for a Happy Day to you and the doggies too🐾😽💞
You’re too kind, Binky. We love images that talk to us.
Interesting, the way nature can compose beauty…wherever and whenever we care to hunt for it!
Nature is an remarkable artist!
What a beautiful nature composition!
Thanks. Too bad it was a scene in the heart of the city. 😉
Nature is a remarkable portrait, and you have captured it beautifully.
Thank you, kind sir!
Lovely photo Monika!!! You have such a good eye for Nature!

Oh gosh…thanks for the kind words. 💙
Mother Nature on display in all her simplicity.
She definitely knows how to present the best still life’s. 😊
Looks like a “Mama” cone with a couple of her “baby” cones around…..love the photo. A potpourri of nature.
Hugs, Pam
Thank you! Love your expression…potpourri of nature. Completely accurate in this scene!

Unless you like HOT and HUMID, Houston weather can be pretty extreme. That image was taken in early April and there were even a few hot days then.
We get very hot and humid mostly July/Aug here. We stay in the A/C then.

That’s a lovely composition.
Why thank you, Helen. Sometimes just a sliver of an otherwise plain scene is the best.
There are so many wonderful things to see in nature. You just have to take the time to notice them.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to the pups, a smooch to Norman and a hug to you. ♥
So true…and that little slice of ‘nature’ was taken in the heart of a big city-Houston!
it reminds me of fall… only 3 months to go, yay!… did I say that loud?
Yup…’just’ 91 days! But who’s counting, right? 😆 Surprisingly that image was taken in April.
I love this beautiful natural still life, Monika
Thanks. Taking a sliver out of urban life brings peaceful calm some days. This ‘scene’ is from Houston if you can believe it!
Yes! I could not agree more! I believe it (coz I’ve never been so you could tell me anything 😉 )
It surprised me encountering that scene since whenever I think of Houston, I think, HOT and HUMID, not mountain-ish. 😊
True, now that you mention it!!! 😀
😂
