Monday Musings ~ July 19, 2021

It’s Monday and that means we look to start the week out with a smile. There were a number of contenders for today’s contribution but Ranch editor Norman picked this one from our Indian Hills friend as he identified with the sentiment.

Signs

We hope you have a good week avoiding any unpleasant happenings. Make it a good one!

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. Good choice Norman! I am ready for the end of the week. Been doing night shift all week! Soo ready to get back to my normal schedule in August! 🙂

    1. I cannot fathom switching from day to night shifts. Kudos to you. Hopefully you can go back soon.

      1. Thanks! I don’t know how people do it all the time! Half the time I do not know what day it is. I keep waiting for me to make the mistake of doing Tuesday’s quotes on another day. LOL!

  2. Yanno, it seems to be that we are inundated on a daily basis with signs . . most of them bad or even worse than that. So these signs, I just love them. They are proof it’s gonna be okay, or at least we’ll be laughing on the way to the apocalypse.

    1. When we can’t smile about silly puns like that, then we’ll know we’re in deep stuff. 😁

  3. My first furbaby, Kissy, was terrified of elevators as a pup, too. That was back before hubby and I was dating a NYC guy. Luckily, sweet Kissy only weighed about 12 or 13 pounds so I could carry her easily. She was very happy when we moved down here and she didn’t have to ride in any more elevators!

    1. I’be be in deep stuff if I had to carry Norman! But I can appreciate his reluctance and just hope like Sam, he’ll get used to it.

    1. The guy who’s behind the signs is a real hoot and brings a lot of smiles to people heading up to the foothills. It’s good to start the week out with a smile, even when it hits home a little too closely.

        1. This is probably why self identification makes the smile that much more powerful when driving past. 👍🏻

    1. When I worked, the elevators in my building were known as some of the fastest in downtown. Though the ones at hospital tend to be pretty average speed-wise, I empathize with Norman’s anxiety about them. Nobody likes to have their stomach wrapped around their throat. 😇

  4. Poor Norman!!!! I can honestly say that I’ve never been on an elly-vator, so I can’t say weather I would likes it or not, butts Ma says some can make your tummy funny, so I gets it. I hopes with lots of rides, you’ll gets used to it. If you wants, I can send some freeze dried chicken to you to make it more funs!!! Oh, and some margaritas, of course ! 🤣
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

    1. Yup, funny tummy is a good way to describe it. I think he’ll get used to it or at least look forward to some tasty treats when he gets off since he refuses to eat anything when he’s inside it. 🤞🏼

    1. Bwahahaha. Maybe the Indian Hills guy should consult with Max on pun signage! Good one.

  5. Rite on Sweet Norman!!!! LadyMew ISS terryfied of Ellyvatorsss so this sign made her giggell ALOT!
Hope you an Elsa an Miss Monika are doin guud there!

    1. Happy to have provided a giggle. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Norman becomes less anxious about the elevator. Sam did eventually.

        1. Sadly he couldn’t be distracted by a treat like Sam would. We’re practicing as often as we can to make it become normal for him. It’ll just take some time.

          1. CATFISH! Mee was hopin treetss wuud werk Miss Monika…
HHHMMMM pleese tell Sweet Norman mee <3 lovess <3 him an hee iss a big brave poochie doggie an peepelll need him an you will keep him safe!"
            Maybee that will help???
            **purrss** BellaDharma

            1. Thanks. I think he’ll eventually get used to it and I definitely give him a treat once we get off so hopefully that’ll encourage him. For now, it’ll just take some time. Sam didn’t like them either but he eventually was fine after a few encounters. 🤞🏼

    1. A great place to find a smile is always in Indian Hills. LOVE that community.

  6. you are right norman… I refused to enter that elevator in pawris…and the mama said the steps are not good for my joints so my dad carried me into da 6th floor (after 5 minutes I felt an urgent need and he started the game again)

    1. Elevators are tough obstacles for us dogs. Who thinks up moving the ground like that? We hope your Dad’s back has recovered. I know my mum couldn’t carry me especially when I decide to turn into a gigantic boulder that’s impossible to move.
      Your friend,
      Norman 🐾

  7. Norman is right too. Norman is always right. I’m about to do some steps too. My morning walk. Thanks for the funny.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the pups and a smooch to Norman. ♥

    1. Enjoy your morning constitutional and have a super uplifting Monday! Hugs and tail wags from the whole Ranch crew.

    1. As a former fire warden for the high rise where I worked I know how important stair navigation is so we practice wherever we can find them (since there aren’t any at my house). He’ll get there; Sam was the same way when he started out…on both stairs and elevators. Happy Monday!

    1. The dog definitely has a sense of humor. Happy Monday to you and the girls, Michael.
