  1. Charlee: “It’s snow roses!”
Chaplin: “What do you mean it’s no roses? Clearly there are roses right there.”
    Charlee: “I didn’t say it’s no roses, I said it’s snow roses.”
Chaplin: “Well now you’re just repeating yourself.”

    1. Holy cow! The only thing popping out here are snowballs and ice cycles. Hope you stay safe and warm with the front moving across the country.

      1. In this short time, it’s gotten freezing (you are familiar with the phenomenon.) They are calling for ice and frozen roads tonight and places are closing early. How long til spring?

    1. Just a tiny pop of color that caught my passing eye. If I’d been on the other side of the street, I’d have totally missed it.

  2. Roses can hang in there very well. Such a beautiful shot.

Have a fabulous day, my friend. Scritches to the pups, a smooch to Norman and a big hug to you. ♥

    1. Thank you, Sandee. Never in my wildest dreams would I expect to see frozen rose blooms in January! Happy mid-week.

    1. Thank you. It really struck me as something beyond unusual this week. It’s like those blooms are frozen in time.

    1. VERY sweet. I walked the dogs passed it and then went back to look at it more closely. Incredible!

  3. I always love taking pictures of roses in the snow! Around the corner from my house, a guy never cuts his roses down… I thank him quietly as I snap away.
    Beautiful image, my friend!

    1. No doubt the birds enjoy the hips in winter too. I’ve never seen blooming roses in January. Especially in the snow!

        1. Around here bird will nosh on some rose hips in the winter which explains the whole rose-hip tea thing. 😉

          1. Understood. There are a few really nice rose bushes on my walks but they are right next to a boulevard. Every year I am tempted to pick them, every year, I end up not. I suppose I could soak them and get all the pollution out of them… maybe?
I wanted to make rosehip jelly…

              1. Basically, you mix the hips with apples. But no, I would not order any. If ever I do grow more of my own roses, I might consider it – I know the city doesn’t spray them but the pollution side of things makes it yucky.

                1. You’d probably know far better than me on making them. I can only imagine who tasty rosehip jelly would taste on a nice biscuit. It seems like the kind of stuff dreams are made of.

    1. Those blooms tells the story of what the weather has been like here. Warm enough to bloom and with snow and ice, frozen in time. It kind of blew me away.
