Cuz weâre just not quite ready for it.
The Ranchâs presence this week may be somewhat spotty and limited. A project in the studio has gone badly (no thanks to IKEA) and may restrict the ability to be online. I was lucky to find the laptop in the chaos.
Live, love, bark! đŸ
OMC that looks like a movingâŠat least Norman finds some silence in the chaosđčPawkisses for Good LuckđŸđœđ
Thanks, Binky. Itâs hard to be creative when your surroundings are so chaotic. But weâre moving toward with Plan B which hopefully will be completed by next week. đ€đ»
unfortinately, youâre normal.
Alas, we havenât felt too normal lately. đ
LOL, that looks like my husbandâs home office, complete with framed pictues, broken items and a large plant!
đ€Ł My sympathies.
I try to stay out of it, LOL!
Visual clutter and chaos send me into orbit!
Yep, me too. The house might not always be clean (think dog hair) but itâs usually picked up. With the exception of Jeffâs office, of course!
I know exactly what you meanâŠright down to the dust bunnies of dog hair. Oi!
In answer to the question, YES.
Hope the project takes a positive turn.
WhewâŠin that case weâre on fire!
Or as Pacino says . . . FIAH!!!
Lulu: âOoh, Dada says he really likes IKEA, but he never thanks them when heâs putting something together that he got there. Usually it takes a few months for the assembly aggravation to wear off first. And thatâs when it goes well!â
Iâve gotten used to the pictorial instructions and most of the time it works out just fine. This time there were defective screws and no replacements to be had with IKEA. Back to the store to return the whole thing. Argh.
But you did find Storminâ Norrman.
Barely. He thought it would be a good idea laying on top of the box for a while.
And THATâs why I have at least one son⊠to do the putting-together of things. I have zero patienceâŠ
As for Norman, I am totally in agreement with his desire to move forward!
Itâs all we can doâŠafter a petulant teenaged-like tantrumâŠwhich I discovered does nothing for the psyche. Sigh.
True enough!
OH dear on the chaos! Good luck!
That photo of Norman is so sweet, I just want to cuddle up beside him, though he takes up the whole couch. LOL!
Thanks. He does tend to occupy a bit of real estate wherever he is.
đ
ouch!!! Hope no humans or furries were harmed in the process!
Only human pride and desires. đ
A friend described DIY as Donât Involve YourselfâŠ..
Bwahahaha. Thatâs rich (and most accurate).
I see all those screws, washers, nuts, and bolts on the table. I hope all ends well. Not an IKEA fan and am now forbidden to put any IKEA items together.
Normally Iâm pretty good getting things together-this one had defective plastic screws and no replacements in the entire empire. Oh well. If thatâs the worst that happens, I guess Iâm in ok shape.
I feel your pain. I hate it when you buy stuff that force you to have to off set its lack of functionality with counting unrelated blessings.
Our local IKEA isnât so local (at least an hour) so I rarely use it although I like some of their stuff. Good luck to you in sorting this all out.
Itâs a 50 mile round trip to reach the one here and with multiple trips in the current climate of $4/gal is as maddening as defective screws. Time to go to Plan B I suspect.
YIKESS Miss Monika what happened??? THE Room threw up on itself!!!!
Wee hope you an IKEA can sort thingss outâŠâŠ
An Sweet Norman wee toetallee AGREE with you âbout Mondayssâ!
~~~head rubss~~~BellaDharma~~~ an {{{huggiess}}} BellaSita Mum
Thatâs good way to put it-the room DID throw up on itself. Iâll go through and reorganize the art supplies and fall back to Plan BâŠas soon as I come up with a Plan B. đ
itâs hard to work and to think the ikea wayâŠthe instructions have something from hieroglyphics ;O)
They can be challenging, but biggest problem seems to be the quality of the hardware seems to have deteriorated on the past couple of big projects.
Plan Bee iss guud to haveâŠ..BellaStia suggested to take out itemss you see you not use or need. Then you can see what you have an can ree-organize! Waht due you think Miss Minika?
I had already sorted out whatâs needed, just need a place now to house all of it. Sitting on the floor is not the perfect option. đ
MOLđč
Gah! Iâm so sorry you have to deal with such a mess! It would frustrate the s**t out of me too! Everyone sees Norman and his bed except me. Are my eyes really that bad, or is he kinda hidden somewhere in the chaos?
Oh! I just realized they were all talking about the separate pic of Norman. DUHHHHH! What can I say? Itâs the Monday morning after an episodic weekend.
đ No worries. I think the universe must be off kilter everywhere.
{snicker} Even affable Norman couldnât stand the chaos-hid photo was taken in the living room enjoying a peaceful moment.
⊠at least Norman appears to be normal âŠ
Norman is the most affable dog Iâve ever seen. Nothing bothers this boy. I should be more like him.
thatâs a cozy dog bed. Wish I could come play with you in studio. Itâs satisfying to re org. a studio and oh the things you can find in there!
Right now, nothing can be found-stuff is everywhere! I may steal Normanâs bed since I canât face the day in that much chaos.
Best of luck with all the assembly and such. You are a brave soul.
BraveâŠperhaps but today Iâm mostly VERY irritated. Iâve never encountered this problem with IKEA before and have more than a few items that have been built. Itâs just frustrating.
Absolutely!
Awww, thereâs handsome Norman. I just love Norman.
Yikes on the office. I hope you get things straightened out and soon.
I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the pups, a smooch to Norman and a hug to you. â„
Thanks for the positive thoughts. I called customer service; thereâs not much that can be done (the defective part is out of stock with no estimated date as to when it will be back). Iâm torn as to waiting it out or returning. This until weighed a ton and will be really tough to load into the car to return in pieces. The boxes were bad enough.
UhohâŠâŠ..well, having âbeen there/done thatâ with ordered furniture it is TRULY upsetting when you canât get it DONE and get your ânormalâ back!! Hope you get help with NEW hardware soon.
Hugs, Pam
Me too. I canât stand living in that chaos-itâs making my eye twitch.
I absolutely know what youâre talking about â it also makes my frown lines deeper!
Gah! Donât need any more of those!
The weekend didnât actually help. Thinking of crawling into a hole until the world shapes up.
Universal biorhythms are seeming to be in disorder. Hope things on your end improve quickly and easily.
gotta love ikea! good luck:)
Normally I do, but when youâre midway at assembly and your piece has defective hardware and you make another trip to learn replacements arenât in stock, you get a bit cheesed off. I love making 3 trips of 50 miles round trip in $4/gal gas times. Not.
