Monday Musings ~ August 10, 2026

Rise and shine, campers. Welcome back to Monday. We hope you had a nice weekend. Wilson is patiently waiting for the day to begin. Be sure to have your volume turned on. He’s now ‘talking’ to his breakfast until he receives the all clear release. It always cracks me up to watch his little tail wiggling in anticipation and now he’s beginning to softly ‘talk’ to his bowl more frequently. This dog is hilarious.

It’s harvest time in Colorado and the Palisade peaches are arriving in grocery stores, farmer’s markets and fruit stands along roadways. It’s the best time of the year. Those juicy delicious fruit has me drooling just thinking about them. Which leads me to share another smile from our friend, Vince, the Sign Guy. Have a fantastic Monday and week!

Live, love, bark! 🐾

Thanks, Carolyn. I think Wilson is saying grace before he digs in. 😂 Palisade Peaches make a dynamite cobbler, let me tell you. Yum, yum.

  3. Wilson, Wilson … tho others may think you’re pausing to say grace [pawsible] … you may also be apawlogizing to this food which will soon disappear forever … offering it a small thanks for joining you in another day of good health, vim and vigor! Whatever you’re saying, we’re not really ever to know … but Good Boy for doing so!

Saving grace is one pawsibility but it’s more like a bit of a lament that he has to wait so long before he can dig in. LOL

  4. Very clever wording from the sign guy. And it was absolutely wonderful to see Wilson in a video. Love his nice groom, too. Give him kisses from me.

He is such a good boy when it comes to the ‘wait.’ But boy does he make up for it with extra gusto when he finally gets the ok. 🤣 Here’s wishing you a grand week, Dan.

  6. Wilson, I think it’s obvious you are saying grace because you are grateful for breakfast.

We get the Ruston, Louisiana peaches down here in the swamps, they are closer. I’d have to taste test both to decide if one is superior, maybe that should be a bucket list thing.

I’m sure they’re quite tasty but think that could be a pretty cool bucket item. At least a tasty one!

Wilson can be fairly vocal, and a feel like maybe he’s saying grace before digging in! Happy Monday.

  7. That video of Wilson is too adorable! Animals are so funny, my cat has a water bowl ritual where he paws at his bowl and meows before he drinks.

Tree and high altitude sun ripened! Those peaches are just so good.

Glad you enjoyed Wilson’s video. He cracks me up. That boy loves his meals but is such a good boy waiting patiently for the ok to dig in. He slays me sometimes. Have a terrific week!

  9. Wilson is so well trained and so entertaining. He’s also very handsome.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to Wilson. ♥

Is that tail wiggling just hilarious? I crack up every time I see it. Here’s wishing you and Miss Reiko a lovely Monday.

  10. Wilson sounds like he is revving up for a high-powered breakfast experience. He definitely has an approach to approaching the morning meal. I would not have thought of peaches even being a thing in Colorado, but in reading about them after reading this it sounds like the geography and weather really combine to make these Palisade peaches as good as peaches get. A Palisade pie would hit the spot right about now. Happy New Week, Monika!

      Tails Around the Ranch says:

      I know, right?! He’s such a hoot.

Yes, the weather and geography really contribute to making Palisade peaches so incredibly tasty. People come from neighboring states for them! They are a real treat, much like the Rocky Ford cantaloups from the opposite side of the state. Those melons are by far better than anything from either Texas or California. Last year I waited too long to get mine fix and was so disappointed with the substitutes. Have a Jim-Dandy Monday, Bruce!

Wilson is so patient! Zoe dives into her food bowl like she’s going swimming. Tegan then has a major case of FOMO and has to gobble hers down as fast as she can to avoid Zoe’s corgi Stare of Mind Control, willing Tegan to abandon her food. 😁

      Tails Around the Ranch says:

Wilson would dig in if I haven’t worked to get him to wait until give the all clear command. Even with a slow feeder bowl, he can down a meal in less than 5 minutes. I’m never seen a dog eat so fast! Because bloat is a very real threat for sheepdogs because of their physiology, I keep trying to employ little tricks to make him eat a bit slower. Wish Tegan, Zoe and you a fulfilling Monday!

  12. Oh dear, having to wait for your food. Nelson howls waiting for Mom to finish mixing up our food but when the bowl goes down, we dig right in. Mom loves peaches and buys them this time of year. She brought some to Gramma who said, after eating the first one, they are really good but they are not the Colorado peaches I always bought. So, she would appreciate your Colorado peaches. Love that sign too.

      Tails Around the Ranch says:

Wilson’s bark is so loud, so I’ve been working with him on his ‘inside’ voice. Those little grumbles cracked me up.

Your Gramma knows peaches. There’s something very special about them and we look forward to this time of year just to eat them. Glad you enjoyed the sign-Vince is a clever guy. Happy Monday.

  13. Love those Wilson sounds! I think he is solving the puzzle in his mind before diving into his bowl of delicious. And that’s a great sign. Gotta love farmer humor. I hope it’s cooled down for you. We just came off a couple 100 degree days but a cooling trend is on the way. The Girls will definitely appreciate that! Have a great week!

Thanks, Mike. We’ve been practicing our ‘inside’ voice. LOL It’s still pretty toasty here for a few more days. A minor cool down is forecast for later in the week. 🤞🏼 It can’t come soon enough. Stay cool and have a ‘furbulous’ Monday and please pass along gentle ear rubs to the Golden Girls.

      Tails Around the Ranch says:

Wilson often drools on top of his food but he demonstrates a lot of self control by not diving in and snarfing it all down in a flash until given a release command. I swear that dog inhales his meals. Even that slow feeder bowl barely slows him down. Yikes.

      Have a terrific Monday!

I’d never had one do that either. Norman sat there drooling like a water faucet but never did the huffing, puffing or tail wiggling. Wilson just lives for mealtime!

One of the best features of Palisade peaches are they’re BIG. And so sweet and tasty. Yum…I’m seeing a pie in the near future! Happy Monday.
