Welcome to November! Is it just me or are you having a hard time believing we are 52 days until Santa Paws arrives. We hope you had a peaceful but fun Halloween. It was fairly subdued around here, and as I expected, no little goblins or ghosts stopped by, likely due to the HOA hosting a trick or trunk event (complete with adult beverages) but even that didn’t seem to attract a lot of kids. The neighborhood is still filling in with new families but it seems like people celebrate Halloween differently than when I was a kid where we walked for blocks in search of the best candy. Now days, kids attend parades at malls or in business shopping districts in daylight. Oh well, no biggie…just trying to figure out what to do with the bag of chocolate I’m left holding. Any takers on a bunch of ‘fun size’ Snickers?
The most exciting thing to have occurred over the weekend was the return to standard time. You’re probably saying, but wait, didn’t Congress vote to move to daylight time all year long? Well, the House voted for that but the U.S. Senate did not vote on that so we have to deal with changing clocks that don’t automatically change and try to sync our circadian rhythms to manipulated time. Returning to or maintaining Standard Time year-round is strongly supported by the medical and scientific communities as well as safety organizations for the reason that it aligns human biology with natural sunlight. We’ll have to see how this shakes out after the mid-term elections to see if Congress can actually pass meaningful legislation.
But putting aside political shortcomings, it’s Monday so that means we will start the week with a smile. Our friend from Indian Hills is back again with another groaner chuckler, depending on your personal take. Happy Monday. We hope you have a great week.

Live, love, bark! 🐾
Hubby and I both LOL’d very loudly at this funny pun!
I too wish we would stick with standard time. Then the only problems with clocks and bodily rhythms would be when we travel across time zones.
That makes us very happy. Glad you guys enjoyed it! You’re right, in sync biorhythms due to time zones instead of artificial hours would be much better. enjoy a great Monday.
We turned off outside lights, pulled the shades and hibernated on Halloween. We don’t like all the people in the street and coming to our house and Mom doesn’t want to deal with them either. The past two years we simply went out of town. Love the sign guy, always creative!
Glad you enjoyed today’s sign. Vince’s sense of humor always cracks us up. I’m not one to like Halloween much. It seems strange to me and I sure don’t need the doorbell ringing a jillion times and setting off Wilson. Have a great Monday!
Happy fall!
Thanks. Right back atcha. And Happy Monday.
I was thinking of you over the weekend knowing your aversion to the time changes. I’m ok with them but if there is going to be one only it must be standard time for a number of reasons but especially because we can’t have kids walking to school or waiting for a bus in the dark!
Halloween was and always is a non-event in our neighborhood which is very rural, properties are spread out and are inhabited by cranky old men like me who don’t want to be woken up as we take our first evening “nap” by 7:00. 🤓
If there was or is such vote for if a cow doesn’t produce milk I vote for udder failure. Milk Duds do not work well with my crowns – those in my mouth not atop my head. 😅
Have a great week. Before you know it we’ll be saying that again….
I totally agree. Research tends to favor standard time for better health outcomes. And even though I don’t have Elsa to administer timed anti-seizure meds, I have never been a fan of daylight savings. I think it’s folly to think you can manipulate time anyway. Just go with the sun and be done with it. That said, we hope your Monday is full of sunshine and the week positive.
I love this time of year and hate fall back. Yesterday was the longest day ever. I was exhausted when I went to bed. Funny what one hour will do.
Love that sign. I laughed out loud.
I linked this post to Awww Mondays as always.
Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome Wilson. ♥
It’s funny. I feel the opposite. My biorhythms were immediately in sync. LOL Glad you enjoyed today’s smile. We very much appreciate you adding us to your Monday link. You’re the best, Sandee. Have a fantastic Monday!
Happy November, how long before the snow flies?
Not long. It’s falling in the high country and raining off and on at lower elevations. Weather forecasters say maybe later this week. We’ll see. Have a great Monday!
Thank goodness Holloween is over and we can now start to think about Christmas. The shops are starting to fill up with festive goodies and it was a chilly 6C (43F) this morning. I started my Christmas shopping last Monday, would you believe… 😀
Good for you, Paul! You can never start your holiday plans too early in my books and I’m making lists of things. It’s good to be prepared-Christmas will be here before we know it! Have a great Monday.
we go with udder failure… but we hope this month will be a good one for all of us…
Hahahaha! I can relate to that and likewise hope it’s a great week for us all. Happy Monday!
Love the sign, and really needed a chuckle this morning. Thank you!
Glad today’s silliness provided a chuckle to start your week. Hope it’s a good one. Happy Monday.
I think it’s the fifth time they tried. Most of the world rejects DST. Come on, America!
You could be right. I know whenever they passed it before, they ended up repealing it. Have a great Monday, Jacqui.
