Welcome to Monday. Today is the 174th day of 2025…can you believe we’re nearly half way through the year. {head shaking} Where does the time go? Today is also {ironically} National Hydration Day, National Pecan Sandies Day, National Pink Day, and, the best one of all…Pink Flamingo Day in case you’re looking for something out of the ordinary to celebrate.
After a blistering weekend, Wilson says he’s not celebrating anything unless it’s well under 80F (26C). He has his own coping mechanism for dealing with the heat-act coquettish and wait for Mr. DeMille to call. We’re expecting a break in the heat starting later today with a chance of rain.
Today’s smile is in honor of Pink Flamingo Day. We hope your Monday is simply ‘flockin fabulous!’

I felt like Wilson, after going out for a few minutes to water the patio pots…UGH. Right now at the wee hour it’s gone down from 96 to 80F. UGH, and UGH! The humidity is sweltering and opressive. More of the same for the next few days at least. Where is the pleasantness of the fall?? LOL!!
A bag of pecan sandies sounds soooo much better than 80 degrees at midnight. Yikes. While it was hot here last week, we don’t have the humidity you guys are experiencing. You have my deepest sympathies.

We had 95 all weekend with high humidity and a heat index over 100. Not really fun for anyone at our house. Mom hates it too.
Yuck…high temps are oe thing but add high humidity and it’s a whole different kind of hell. So sorry, hope that heat doesn’t last. Happy Monday.

Thanks, we are fine. We hit 97 degrees today in Annapolis, MD. I’d prefer the temperature in the 70’s. Not too hot, not too cold.
My sis lives in Frederick-she said the heat is pretty gross. High temps and high humidity are not our idea for a good day. Try to stay cool.
Looks like Wilson can celebrate after all — it’s 61o and my poblano peppers are shivering. Whatever happened to four seasons in orderly succession? This is like weather on shuffle. I’m ready for several weeks of 90o days with light rain showers in the afternoon. Think I’ll get them?
He was quite spry on our morning constitutional. It felt great needing to wear long sleeves for a change! Sorry your peppers aren’t enjoying the change in temperature. I think they’ll get happier as the week progresses if the forecast is correct. Happy Monday.

We had a very cool weekend and the temps are going to go up starting today. I’m not a fan of the heat. It could be 80 degrees all the time and I would be happy. Wilson is most handsome.

Most of the US and lower Canada are under heat advisories today, ugh. Close to 90º here already by 10:30 am. We worked earlier for about 45 minutes when it was in the upper 70s (though very humid) and got drenched with sweat… that’s it for the day, methinks!
I really empathize with folks in humid climes…while ours was miserable, at least it was a ‘dry heat.’ Stay hydrated and don’t work too hard in the garden. Happy Monday.
Outdoor work is off for the next few days. It’s like January’s cold spells where you can’t go out for long, but for opposite reasons. 🥵🥶

Cute cartoon! Heat is going to be high 90’s with high humidity for the next four days here in PA. Ugh. Midday potty breaks will be in the back yard on the grass, and they will be short!! Next week’s predicted temps are in mid to 80’s, which, at the moment, sounds a lot better, though I’m sure I won’t care for it anyway.

Life in Florida (23 years) enjoyed the “real ones”, very pretty … but the plastic pinks in yards: squawk, horrors! Lucky you, our hots today go up, up and up in the days ahead (share those coping skills, Wilson, no fair keeping them all to yourself …). Oh, okay, eat more pecan sandies? We can do that …
