Greetings fellow Monday warriors. Here’s hoping your weekend was full of tasty things and sans the racket from ongoing Fourth of July revelers. Sheesh, with all the complaining about the economy, you’d think fireworks wouldn’t have been so prevalent this year. If you can explain it, I’d be interested to know since I certainly don’t get it.
Anyway, here’s a smile to start out your day. Hopefully the four-legged sect were beneficiaries of bungled flips over the weekend. Sure beats cowering in the back of a closet, doesn’t it?
Happy Monday. We’re hoping you have a ‘wagnificent’ week.
Live, love, bark! 🐾
I’m so grateful none of our pets mind the fireworks, especially since they go off over Hershey Park which is just a couple miles from us. Very loud!!! We had a dog who minded them a few dogs ago, and it was a bit of a blessing when she got pretty deaf.
I’m a firm believer in the five second rule … my cats are clearly mistreated 😉
Hee, hee. Dogs and cats all over the world must be mistreated.
Java Bean: “You can assist with the flip-bungling if you jump up and push on your Dada with your front paws at exactly the right moment! Just saying …”
Ooh, excellent tip, Bean. Thanks for sharing. Doggos all over Blogville are cheering now.
Your fur-iend,
Elsa 🐾
It’s been stormy this way, even more so where my daughter is in Vermont. But still hot . . too hot.
It’s gonna be a hot week in Denver. Summer has (unfortunately) arrived. I’m starting the countdown to autumn. Only 74 to go. Sigh. Hope your daughter remains safe. I heard about the record breaking storms in New England.
Yeah, we’re talking to her now about what she might have to do in the event she had to leave her house.
Sending my best wishes she stays safe and dry.
Things have returned to relative normalcy but after going through the lower parts of the state yesterday on my way home, wow! They really got hit hard. Daughter and cats are doing great, thank you muchly for the wishes.
Glad things are back to relative normal. Trying to adjust the current situation from what was can be quite the adjustment. Stay safe and keep smiling.
The “five second rule” has never been tested on dogs because no food that falls to the floor has ever lasted five seconds.
Good point. Yeah the 5-second rule is pretty much non-existent at the Ranch, unless it’s a blueberry for some weird reason. None of my guys have ever liked blueberries. Strawberries or cantaloupe on the other hand are fair game.
Unfortunately for the dogs there were no bungled flips, LOL! My husband is pretty conservative in his grilling techniques However, when food does hit the floor, we also invoke the 5 second rule and then wash off the dog hair.
Me too! 🤣
Ha-ha!!
We think Dalton & Benji hope that kind of thing happens in our kitchen, as we are both a bit clumsy…sometimes!
Years ago, MJF made off with a good sized hunk of Turkey when the Thanksgiving bird fell apart as we were taking it out of the roasting pan…oops…of course that was not the best thing for him…bu thankfully we had no ill effects! MJF learned fast, and after that he was always underfoot when food was being prepared, even salads!!LOL!
These little Hoovers are such planners snd opportunists, aren’t they? 😁
OLh gosh, that must have been one exciting Thanksgiving! Since my guys have realized I’ve been a vegetarian for probably close to 30 years, they are fixated on any cheese that hits the floor. No shred is every missed!
LOL…I do believe our pups may say the same mantra when we’re grilling!
Have a wonderful week!
You have a great week as well. Yeah, my dogs have always been shameless Hoovers.
Bungled flips make the best snacks don’t they! Also I’ve found that dropped cereal boxes can be tasty.
Hugs, Teddy
Funny how our pets don’t mind if something falls on the ground. They’re happy to ‘clean’ any spills up. 🤣
It is always comforting to know there is someone near the floor rooting for your failure.
It gives us uprights undeserved confidence in spite of our clumsiness.
The funny thing is the four legged ones must have learned to wait for the disaster cause they certainly wait with a degree of patience.
If I step back from the stove when cooking I collide with a solid hairy wall of canines….all just waiting for something to drop.
They always manage to be in the worst spot possible. I think it’s deliberate on their part. Talk about schemers. 🥰
You made me chuckle. I hope the flip gets bungled.
I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to Elsa and a hug to you. ♥
You’re always so kind, many thanks for the link up.
My two always show up for meal prep, just in case… 😉
That’s when the best scores happen. If nothing else. I often give them a taste just to get them out of the way of my tiny kitchen. LOL

**nose rubss** BellaDharma an (((hugss))) BellaSita Mum
That’s the ‘helper’ spirit! 😆
we were EXTREMELY lucky. Our fireworks were MUCH less this year. I think all of the jerks who set them off last year moved away. We only had them the night of the 4th and they weren’t bad. Roary and Levi aren’t bothered by them in the least anyway which is good!
So glad you didn’t endure day after day and night like so many places (mine included). Elsa was mildly upset but a couple of boomers really made me jump. Fireworks trigger a PTSD response from a horrible fireworks accident when I was in my 30’s. Getting hit by a bottle rocket by a neighbor as a teen didn’t help either. I hate fireworks and pray we’re transition to drones and lasers sooner than later. 🤞🏼
Love the cartoon. Dogs are so simple and direct.
And they’re always single mindedly focused on scoring an errant treat. 😉
No hidden agenda!!
I would be crazy to try a flip… then again…perhaps I am. 🙂
Haha! Yeah, I can tell you from years of practice, ‘flipping’ veggie burgers never ends well. Luckily the 5 second rule gets invoked frequently. 😆
Good one!
We had some flipping on Saturday but no bungles (and no little beasties to capture them, if they had occured!)
Happy Monday!
‘Flips’ with friends…I love it.
😁
