Monday Musings ~ October 2, 2023

Whoa…October has officially arrived which means it’s officially wear a sweater in the morning and regret it by the afternoon weather.

Today also means there are only 84 days left until Christmas. That can cause some to experience a fright even more than whether they have to take off that sweater this afternoon. Halloween

Whether you openly welcome October with a new sweater or are feeling a bit stressed by it’s arrival, we hope it’s grand.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

    1. For tree hands, it’s one of the best we’ve ever seen! We hope your dear Brian is feeling better.

    1. Isn’t that a great idea for Halloween? Sweater weather is my favorite. Warm days, cool nights…it doesn’t get much better.

    1. We couldn’t agree more. Warm yet not hot, crisp but not cold. It’s ‘pawfect’ by our standards.

    1. It looks scary to me, but maybe it was afraid of my attitude when I chased off an offending squirrel. 😉

    1. It probably ours as well. The weather is mild, the lighty is golden and the smells from nature are exquisite.

  1. YAY for Fall and cooler weather……we LOVE what you said about these days though “you wear a sweater in the morning and regret it in the afternoon” is PURRRRFECT!!!! Happy Fall………….

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. That observation sure is true in our neighborhood but we’re making the most of “Indian Summer” since it won’t be too long before white stuff starts showing up.

  2. We are getting a touch of summer again this week. Had the sweaters out last week and now its back to t-shirts. Crazy! But that’s how our Fall is. Goes back and forth and then suddenly drops to freezing temps and its Winter!
Happy Monday! Fun pic of the tree.

    1. Yeah, Indian Summer is like that here. Heard a forecast some mountain areas are supposed to get a spot of snow! No accumulation but that was surprising, nonetheless. Happy Monday.

  3. October came in with a bit of a bang. Yesterday 37c during the day and in the evening a major thunderstorm with the rain thundering down. That lasted for most of the night. Today, dull-overcast and 22c. Actually got out with Benji this morning, first time for nearly a week. Not a great week for Herself.

    1. Ahh, I vaguely remember rain. Months ago. It’s been warm during the day but fairly breezy which dries everything out. Enjoy spring while you can, it’ll be summer before you know it.

    1. Isn’t it cool?! Our temps are similar-bundled up early on and then we have to break out the sandles and tank tops a few hours later! Go figure.

  4. You’re so right about that sweater thing. Had the heat on in the car on the way to work at 7:30 this morning, then the AC on the way home. Absolutely love that tree decoration!!!

    1. Wow, that’ll seem cool comparatively speaking to what you endured this summer. Relish it! Have a great week, John.

    1. Best time of the year weather wise. Warm days, cool nights. And the golden hue to the light is amazing! Happy Monday.

  5. Well, let’s see if WP will post my comment or send it to cyber neverland….

I love October! Usually comfortably cool mornings and late nights and warm but not hot afternoons, even with the sunshine.

    1. It’s our favorite month. Sometimes, WP takes a few minutes to register- so if you encountered a delay. Rest assured we got your comment. Happy Monday.

    1. I’m glad to see the extreme weather soften. There’s only so far you can remove layers 😉 Happy Monday!

  6. I love each month. Some months better than others, but each month has its beauty.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays as always.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to Elsa and a big hug to you. ♥

    1. Thanks Sandee for including us in your Monday link. You’re right, every month has its own unique feature. This one is particularly beautiful. Happy Monday.

    1. Thank, Michael. You too. There’s a small chance for snow in the Rockies but it’s fairly lovely in the Mile High although I’d be just find with lower temps 😆

    1. It’s our favorite time of year where we get in touch with nature and all her glory. It makes us naturally grateful for harvesting veggies and prepare for the next season.

  8. Happy October to you, Monika!
This week it’s gonna feel like Indian Summer with high 70’s and low 80’s (even if we didn’t really have an overly cold in-between time). It’s not like it used to be!

    1. Same here. The mornings are crisp (upper 40’s-low 50’s) with mid 80’s mid day. Indian Summer at it’s best! Trees are now starting to turn in town. 🍁🍂

      1. Nice 🙂 And here, right now is 64 (perfect) and we’ll only reach a high of 72 (even more perfect).
The leaves are starting here, too. My cousin lives in the Laurentians and right now, it is gorgeous up there!

Feel free to bark your thoughts...but no growling please.
