Monday Musings ~ December 9, 2024

Greetings Christmas shoppers. Is your house fully decorated yet? Wilson found today’s smile. He’s hoping he won’t be part of the holiday decor. I told him that he’ll be too busy as we’ll be spending the next few days at Lutheran bringing cheer to the staff and patients so bear with us if we don’t respond right away to any posts or comments. We’ll do our best to respond by the end of the day.

Monday smile

We hope you have a terrific Monday! Remember, tinsel is optional.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. Lulu: “No decorations here, ever! Something about their being incompatible with cats.”
Oona: “Oona thinks she would be very compatible with decorations. She would knock them down and bat them around and break them and … Oh, wait, now Oona gets it.”

    1. She’s probably ok, the biggest issue is her bulldozer brother who’d likely know her down in his excitement to be first anywhere. As she’s more feeble in her old age, it’s a recipe for disaster. Not to mention my house is so small, I really don’t have enough room for a tree anymore.

  2. We are totally decorated……and even under the tree is decorated with a HUGE GINGER CAT taking a nap, AND presents. Today is baking day but my Mom says no treats for me…….unless I sneak something when Mom isn’t looking!

    Hugs, Teddy

    1. Lucky you…decoration is going to be pretty slim, heck I haven’t even opened some Christmas cards, let alone started mailing any out. I’m way too behind.

Teddy under the tree is the best decoration of all. 😻

  3. LOL at the comic. The house is decorated though I am still looking for some missing decorations! They have to be somewhere. LOL!
Yay on visiting patients. Wilson and you will bring such cheer. 🥰

    1. I know that feeling! I think there’s an entire box of ornaments missing. Course I got rid of the tree…that should fix that problem for the time being. 🤣

    1. You’re ahead of us. I put three snowflakes figurines out…but only because they were favors at the hospital holiday get-together. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Just can’t seem to get in the spirit.

  4. Glad to hear you and Wilson are going to therapize the kids! Angel Lexi would have been happy to come along, too! Also been meaning to tell you I love how you did your Christmas time header!

  5. Looking forward to seeing Wilson in his sparkly bow tie hospital visiting rig. I’m sure he will make a lot of people happy.

    1. Thank you, Helen. Yes, I’m sure the nurses will squeal with delight when they see him. It will be fun seeing how folks will probably enjoy him even more while he’s dressed up a bit. Happy Monday.

  6. No decorations this year. We had the tree up and Squeaker was climbing it every few minutes. We took it down. We do have the Christmas spirit.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the pups. ♥

    1. I stopped putting a tree up a few years ago. With big dogs (especially one who’s a bit of a bulldozer) it just wasn’t worth it in a small house. Aww, Squeaker…you little cutie pie. Gotta love their personality. Happy Monday, Sandee.

  7. I don’t believe I will decorate here with just me and Katie Isabella but..I will enjoy seeing everyone else’s decorations very much. xox

    1. The house is too small to put up a tree with a bulldozer like Wilson. Luckily I can put a hat on him and call it good. 😆 Happy Monday and Happy Christmas to you and Katie Isabella!

    1. Egad…have to add that to my list of things to do! LOL Happy Monday. I’m sure you get it taken care of and done with loads of aplomb.

      1. When I was a kid, we put up the tree on Christmas Eve. When I met Mick, whose birthday was December 18, we never put up the tree until the 19th. Now, I am feeling the desire to Christmas up my joint so… fingers crossed I organise my time appropriately!!

        1. I always put my tree up on my daughter’s birthday (December 16). With the current resident bulldozer (aka House Pony), a tree could be disastrous with all my hand blown glass ornaments. But one less thing to worry about. 😉

          1. I love that we all have our rituals. We waited for after Mick’s birthday because for too many years he got a “joint Christmas and birthday gift” so we separated them!
Do you fear he will knock it about?

            1. My mom’s birthday was Christmas Day but she was never short-changed. It wasn’t until I became an adult and learned sometimes people do that to December birthday folks. Rather sad. We always wanted to make a big deal out of my daughter’s birthday for that reason.

Wilson is totally unaware of his size and seems to unintentional bump into Elsa so I can imagine him doing the same with a tree.

              1. That’s a wonderful thing and yes, it is wrong on every level! C’mon… if your birthday is in July, you’ll get something…
We always made sure to properly celebrate Mick :0

There is that. Hmmm… it would have to have a gate around it!!

                1. Exactly!

This house is really too small to install gates/fences. I miss having a tree up but it’s just not worth it when things get crashed into all the time. He’s just a klutz and a BIG one at that 🤣

                    1. He can parade around with tinsel streamers around the neck or more likely, I’ll just put a Christmas tie on him. 😉 🎄

    1. Thanks, Debra. Too busy in between visits this time of year. Late Thanksgiving has me more than a bit behind but we’ll have fun making folks smile. 😉 Happy Monday.

        1. Yes, it IS a busy time of year…if only I’d gotten going on it sooner. My own doggone fault. 😊

  8. Tinsel is actually bad for cats but I’m fortunate. My cats aren’t so young that they bother the tree or decorations. Wilson should be decorated in some way! 🙂

    1. It’s bad for dogs, too. Wilson has a sequined Christmas tie that I’ll put on him. He’ll be even more popular, if that’s possible. Happy Monday.
