Monday Musings ~ June 2, 2025

Good grief, I can’t believe it’s June already! What the dawg is going on? Wasn’t it just Valentine’s Day? However we got here, it’s no reason not to still start the week out with a smile. And today’s installment is sooo Wilson. There has never been any doubt in my mind that this trait embedded deep in his DNA since he’s shown a strong proclivity for chilling out on the sofa (or even better, on a bed).

Monday smile

From the day I brought him home, this boy has loved laying on my bed…the sofa, me…well you get the point. I’d be upset at his flagrant disregard for one of the house rules if he wasn’t such a cute floof.

Wilson

Sending you loads of happy thoughts for a great Monday.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

    1. So glad you liked the cartoon. That comic reminded me that Wilson totally loves his pillows…and my bed! LOL

  1. Wilson you look sooo comfy there! Soft furnishings were made for sharing 🐾❤️🐾 xxx

    1. Thanks Xenia…it’s his favorite place, unless you count the pile of pillows on the sofa that he enjoys. 😁

  2. For years mom’s dogs were not allowed on the bed or furniture. Along came Bailie and she changed it all. She refused to not go on furniture, demanded to sleep in bed and because Mom secretly liked it, she caved in and the rest is history. Enjoy your spots house pony. Sometimes it takes the right dog for the humans to finally understand.

    1. It’s funny how they manage to wriggle their sweetness into our hearts and in our beds. 😉

    1. If only he’d not squassh me while being that adorable. The truth is, ther House Pony is a bed hog! LOL

        1. When I had a King sized bed, I still slept on the same 6 inches as I do now. Dogs are like guppies-they’ll fill the space/tank they live in. LOL

    1. It’s definitely a favorite spot around the Ranch although I’m sure Wilson would like more pillows!

  3. OMD! Wilson is so, so adorable laying there like that. It’s exactly the same way Xena lays between us at night to go to sleep. I pull the covers up over her, leaving her head out, like she’s a little girl. I hope he gets to sleep with you, too. 😊😊

    1. And that is exactly why I can’t snap my fingers and say “get down” and I think he know it. He’s probably snickering under his breath every time I catch him. Maybe if I tucked him in, he’d stop burrito-ing me in the covers. 😉

      1. Ha, ha, that might work. But first you have to get him UNDER the covers. Maybe a little easier to pull them out from under Xena. Just sayin’.

  4. Hahahaha! He sounds like the cats. They’ve slept in more places than George Washington, but they really love sleeping wherever we are. How can we mind?

That boy is a handsome little charmer.

    1. Like any self-respecting pet who eschews house rules, this boy owns the furniture AND the pillows on it. Hahaha. We had a meeting at the hospital this afternoon and I took the handsome Floof because everyone enjoys seeing him. He’s been zonked out since we came home because as everyone knows, office meetings suck the life out of you. P. S. Welcome back!

    1. Trust me, he’s v-e-r-y comfy, in fact he’s got his head propped up by two feather pillows this exact moment. And ever so slightly snoring. 🤣 Have a great week, Terry.

    1. I’m convinced the boy invented comfort! At this exact moment, he’s snoozing on the sofa with his head propped up on two pillows. Wed just got back from a meeting at the hospital and he gave his all to the attendees. Happy Monday!

        1. Thanks, Dan. He definitely did-everyone who endures an office meeting deserves a good nap. LOL

    1. Yeah, I’m working on getting him an agent to get him those exact kinds of gigs. 😉 Have a great week, Frank.

    1. If that’s that worse thing they do, I’d consider it a total win. 😀

  5. If our bedroom door was open to entry, I do think our rascals would be up on the bed in a flash! MJF was the same, and when we visit my sister, they take advantage of the different ‘rules’ there, LOL!! But having said all that, when the one loveseat in ‘their area’ isn’t holding this or that, they don’t get up on it, even when I try to convince them that its OK! Go figure.
Thanks for the floofy giggles you gave me today!

    1. Sometimes it’s just hard to pass up as comfy a spot as the hooman’s bed! Glad you enjoyed today’s smile(s). Have a great week.

    1. Boy you can say that again! It’s really surprising since it just seems like we were celebrating the holidays! Have a great week.

  6. When we got Lucy, our boxer, we had a house rule about the bed and couch. It lasted five minutes and became a new rule for everything covered. Twiggy and Tempeste have no rules. Loved the photo.

    1. Why am I not surprised? When their as cute as the two Frenchies, rules are non-existent. 🤣

    1. Aww, thanks, Lori. He’s very sweet boy and truth be told, I don’t mind him up on the furniture. Most of the time. 🤣

    1. Hahahaha…I often ask myself that same question. The one about being on the furniture seems to have been forgotten…big time! Happy Monday.

  7. omg he’s so cute! All that hair,
I watch a show with a sheepdog like dog belonging to a guy in CA. That dog loves his man so much, he looks at him adoringly and follows his every step. Now I’m wondering if it’s a sheepadoodle or sheepdog….
milo enjoyed a soft bed too, with us preferably. Three times we felt his spirit on the big bed, we didn’t talk about it til weeks later, but we both felt him stand up and flop down like he did in body

    1. Thanks. It’s a good thing he’s so doggone cute! Happy Monday.
P.S. If it had a long tail, chances are good it was some sort of doodle combo. They have become so popular especially with impressionable younger people (they always seem to want the next adorable hybrid and too often before they research the breeds used to create them-they aren’t for everyone).

  8. Love the funny. I laughed out loud.

Wilson is so adorable. I laughed again. Thank you for that.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to Wilson. ♥

    1. Thanks, Sandee. Always glad when we can provide a chuckle or a smile and we’re always delighted to join your Monday blog hop. Wishing you and the kitties a fabulous week! Hugs and tail wiggles from me and Wilson.

  9. Those poppies! What a lovely header!
Wilson is no fool….he has worked out that him being happy makes you happy…….

    1. Aww, thanks, Helen. They’ve been blooming all over the neighborhood and thought I’d better update the header. Wilson can’t pass up a nice cozy bed, pillows to that lad are a big bonus. I don’t think he’s ever met a pillow he didn’t love. Happy Monday.

    1. Boy, isn’t that the truth! This boy has managed to use being cute much to his advantage. Happy Monday.

    1. Thanks Weims…I don’t think Wilson will ever “need” therapy he’s more into providing it like the photo. Have a swell Monday!

    1. Thanks, Mike. Just lucky with the bedding color (though I confess, I’m a big fan of greys, with and without paws). Have a wagnificent Monday.

  10. Am already trying (trying being the key word here) to rub my hands, and wiggle my fingers into all the wonderful floof I’m seeing in that photo above … it feels so so good, at least in my mind …
PS June says she’s so happy it’s JUNE, she’s waited a long time for “her” month to get here!!!

    1. Aww, thanks, Ann. Wilson is rather jealous he doesn’t get a month named after himself like June. 😉
P.S. Trust me, he feels as floofy as he looks. It’s no wonder the patients and nurse adore petting him and he’s learned how to work that to his advantage. Happy Monday!

  11. Awww ~ He is a a cute ‘fluff’ sweet photo ~ great comic ~ love it ~ hugs,

Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

    1. Thank you, Carol. We’re big proponents of starting the week out with a smile along with a big ‘awww.’ Happy Monday.

  12. We have the same feeling about our pup. He doesn’t get on the couch (has hip problems), but other things we just let him get away with.

I see your point about your overly-cute floof!

    1. Thanks, Jacqui. There’s this rule (off the furniture) but as you can see, I’ve not been very successful enforcing it. I mean, who can deny that adorable floof. Too often when I come out of the bathroom and he didn’t follow me in there during a shower, he’s reclining in the middle of my bed. I just have to chuckle and shake my head. Have a ‘furbulous’ Monday!
