Did you survive the Thanksgiving Day howliday food coma? Did you watch the Macy’s Day Parade or the National Dog Show or catch a few football games if you’re into that sort of thing? With Christmas now a mere 28 days away, we can now move on to the next season…the non-stop wearing of stretch-waistband leggings that is. #ThankGoodnessForElastic

  1. My Golden Life – Upstate South Carolina – I love animals, especially dogs. I enjoy US history, and reading biographies of our former presidents and other historical figures. I love the music of the '60s and '70s since I was growing up in those decades. I love the Beatles and Andy Williams equally.

    We had a nice, quiet Turkey Day. Just hubby. Shadow, Ducky, and me. It was WONDERFUL! No traveling, no runs to the 7-11 for emergency grocery shopping, just football games, movies, and playtime in the yard.

  6. Sand Spring Chesapeakes – Cambria, WI – My husband and I have six "furry" children Gambler, Glory, Guilty, Slammer, Gertie and one cat Bones and two furangel's Norman and Nellie. We breed Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. We are both avid hunters. We also enjoy competing with our dogs in hunt tests and field trials. That is where you can find us during the trial months which are April-September. When were not at a trial we are busy training our dogs. We go snow goose hunting in Canada each year and do all the hunting that Wisconsin offers.

  7. OMD!!!! Did you see the dog show??! The OES made the finals!!!! Ma was all a goo-goo! I don’t understand, cause I was all bummed that the Airedale didn’t win AGAIN! AGAIN!!! when are we gonna gets some respect, I ask?! Anyhu, Ma was all whispering, “come on OES, come on OES….” butts, she just knew it wasn’t gonna happen, cause ‘her dogs’ never win! sigh.
    Okays, so Ma is a little miffed…butts, she was happy the Griffon won! They are adorables, and the winner had such terrierTude!
    Anyhu, Ma tried to wear her leggings at Thanksgiving, butts she forgots they were the ‘workout’ ones, so the waist was a little too tight after dinner…☺

      Rats, unfortunately it was too chaotic and only was able to watch about 3 minutes with no volume. 😢 I would have loved to especially when there are breeds we don’t often get to see in the finals. Judges just don’t appreciate some of the more fun breeds like Airedales and Sheepies. *Sigh* Still, you’re always Best in Show with us!🏆

  12. I really loved that I could stream the Macy’s parade and dog show. It made it feel a little more like Thanksgiving even though we were far from family and could only fit two chicken thighs in our oven for dinner. 🙂

  16. In addition to all the holiday over-eating, we’ve got a week of vaca in Dec so it’s going to seriously be elastic-waistbands-all-the-time! Going to have to try to workout a good bit while we’re on vaca!!

  21. weemontyandmissmolly – - Dog lover - Obsessive learner of dog behavior - Sucker for the puppy-dog eyes - Dog mom This blog was started as a place I could spew forth all the wonderful facts about my beloved dog Monty but as I started my first post and I could hear him barking, probably at someone two blocks over bringing their groceries in from the car, I realized that he pushes my buttons as much as he brings happiness to my life. Trust me this is not a complete love-fest about a perfect dog but everything written is written with an underlying love and in hopes that someone can relate to or learn from my experience of being owned by my 18lb four-legged yorkie-x . This will be all about my pooch Monty and my family's struggle to balance what we perceive to be love for him and what he perceives as an opening to 'up' his position in the family hierarchy.     I am not even American (we are Canadian) and I still made a toned down turkey dinner (meaning I bought a stuffed turkey breast) complete with a ton of veggies and topped off with homemade pumpkin pie…food coma lingers on well into Monday !!! hahaha
