Hi-ya, ‘member us? It’s me, Sam. You know, Chief Knucklehead and Standard Poodle Extraordinaire from the Ranch. Lately it’s been a rough time here. We lost a couple of beloved pups in our extended family (R.I.P. Aria, aka Big Dawg and cutie pie Wriggly-we hope you’re running free and enjoying life at the Rainbow Bridge-we hope to have a better memorial post once we can locate a couple of photos) and Mom’s been out of town for too long handling a family emergency with her mom that we hope, (fingers crossed) has been resolved. Can I get a woof, woof?! Mom came back Tuesday evening and boy am I and my goofy Ninja sister thrilled. I haven’t stopped wagging my tail and won’t let her out of my sight for a second, which has made her trips to the water torture room kind of interesting.
We hope to be back full-time blogging after mom decompresses catches her breath like we used to, so we hope you’ll be patient with all of us. And I know she is ever so grateful for those of you who have reached out and asked what’s up with us. We appreciate your kindness, concern and fur-iendship. In the meantime, look what I dug up out of the archive backyard. My predecessors, McKenzie, Eliot and Crosby. I know, I hear your ‘awww’s through the screen and admit they were pretty adorable. I think McKenzie looks like he could have been the Ninja’s older brother. Eliot always looked like a giant stuffed toy and Crosby was mom’s first dog when she moved to Denver who also had the dreaded Epi-Monster visit him way too many times. I think mom might have been able to treat his condition better now days than she did back in those olden days. She’s learned a lot with Elsa which seems to make a difference since the monster hasn’t visited her for a number of months. We hope you’re all doing well, staying warm, safe and cozy. So what have we miss?

Live, love, bark! ❤︎
Hope your mom is ok and that you get back to normal living soon. Sorry about your losses.
Thank you. She’s working on it. We’re missing our pups but comforted by the fact they lived good long lives. They just never stay long enough for us uprights.
Welcome back! I hope everything is okay…and I’m so sorry for your loss. That is a great photo! Eliot looks like a little stuffy toy my humom had when she was little!
Thank you. Eliot did look lot like a stuffed toy. I always called him my little wool sweater with feet. 😁
haha I bet he made a great pillow and cuddle buddy!
He was a great dog and I still miss him. A bit scratchy to lay on but a nice warm blanket for the legs, for sure. 😊
Good to hear from you my furiend.
Sending your mom pawsitive energy, rest & strength.
Sorry to hear about your recent loses. Aria, aka Big Dawg & cutie pie Wriggly-we knew love💜
Pawsome pic of McKenzie, Eliot & Crosby; pawfectly precious.
We have been dealing with the winter cold snap that turned into our January melt down only to return to yet another cold snap. Winter!
Nose nudges,
CEO Olivia
Thanks for the comforting thoughts. Today it will be in close to 60, tomorrow there’s a call for snow and winter temps around mid-20’s. While not too keen on the 20’s part, I hope we get some snow. We are desperately below average precipitation levels. Fingers crossed.
So sorry to hear of your losses, it’s never easy and always feels too soon. We send big hugs and kisses.
Many thanks for the kind words and the hugs and kisses. We can never get too many of those. 😍
😘😘😘
HEEEEEY!!!!! I’m sorry abouts all the loss and the tough times with your Mom (paws crossed real tight), I sure am glads you’re back and puttin’ up an OES pic made Ma smile!!! ☺ I hopes you will have some stress-free days for a while ♥
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Thank you, Ruby. Your mum would loved Eliot as much as I did. He was a real character, full of OES charm.
So sorry about the loss of your friends. Hope things will be better in this new year.
hugs
Hazel & Mabel
Welcome back. I’m so sorry about the canine losses in your extended family, and for the emergency. Take your time. Your friends will wait while you decompress.
It’s great to hear from you, and we are relieved to know that things are looking up with your Grandmom. We are so sorry you have experienced some losses though. Hugs to all of you and all the extended family.
So great to hear of you. Wishing you this year only happy days full of love!

Woof woof re grandma and welcome back. Out here at the Golden K we thought something might be up re your extended absence. Glad things are getting back on track.
Thanks, Michael. It’s been a very taxing 4 weeks but am looking forward to turning that page over. Now if we’d just get some snow! 😇
glad to see you back and I am so sorry about the loss of the pups. So sad. Glad Mom is doing much, much better! xoxo
Many thanks, Caren. It was some untimely sadness in the midst of weeks of worry and concern. iOn the plus side, they both led pawsome lives with their uprights and were loved by the whole family.
OMD! It’s the Three Stooges!
Precisely! 3 of the sweetest stooges ever.
We’re glad you’re back and hope you can settle into your normal routine soon. Of course we’ll be patient. 😊
Many thanks! Everyone has been so kind; we truly appreciate it.
Best wishes to all, and it’s always great to see cute dogs!
Thanks. All 3 of those guys were favorites of mine and I miss them every day. Coming across that photo made me smile thinking of them.
I have some former cats who were loves of my life, so I know what you mean.
Good to see you back and love your old photos. At first I thought maybe some new friends came home with you but then realized that these were old friends.
Many thanks, Kate. It’d be quite fun to have a few more snouts around but I think I need to regroup a little before opening the Ranch up to more pitter-pattering of paws. Big or small! LOL
Here’s hoping all is resolved (or at least close to resolved).
Things you missed…I won the lottery! Just kidding. I would totally be blogging from some warmer locale if that was the case.
Welcome back! I hope your mom is feeling ok now. I’m sorry to hear of losses in your extended family.🐕
Many thanks. It was real touch and go but I hope she’s finally turned the corner for now-at least she’s home which makes her happy. 4 weeks in the hospital is no fun, especially over the holidays. As mom is a Christmas baby, we had to ‘celebrate’ her birthday in hospital. 😲
I’m sure that wasn’t much fun, but at least she got the care she needed.
Indeed. It sure beats the alternative. 😍
What do you mean “Remember us?” do you think for a single moment we would forget you? I just figured that it being the ” Festive” Season you would be tied up with extra hospital visits. It’s not that I didn’t miss you but I figured you were busy at hospital. I am so very sorry to hear that you have lost some pups, it’s been a sad time for you and mom. I am also sorry to hear that grandma has an emergency and like you I do hope that it is being resolved. Mom, you and the Ninja are always in our thoughts – me and the Benji. Take care of each other.
Sadly we only got 1 hospital visit in at West Pines and then had to drive back right away (mom lives about 120 miles away). Thank you for your continued support and friendship, it means the world to us, especially when times are challenging. Digital hugs and ear scratches to my favorite Down-Under pair. 😍
Glad you guys are back! Woof Woof
Thanks, it feels good to be back for obvious reason. We missed you guys!
Glad you are back! I sincerely hope all is as optimal as can be with your mama and family. I cherish each moment with The Poodle, as exasperated he often makes me with his newfound love of barking. I know –as for all of us–time is limited. I’ll be facing losing my poodle love to that rainbow bridge at some point too. But for now, I’m happy in each and every moment, barks and all <3
Hi Sam! Welcome back to Blogville…you were missed!
Many thanks to everyone at the FACE Foundation. We missed being here with all our fur-iends. 😍
I’m so sorry for this sad time you had…. hugs to all who lost a friend…
I grinned a little as I saw Elliot…he brought some funny memories back of a time I wrote a love letter to a moron just because of his pup (omg glad that my childhood is over lol)
Heh, heh. We all did some pretty bone-headed things when we were young. Luckily most of it was minor even if embarrassing. Thanks for the kind words. It was bad enough with my mom’s life threatening health conditions but to lose a couple pets was just piling on. 😔
Glad you’re back, and a Happy New Year to you all,
Pit
Many thanks, Pit. We hope the ‘happy’ part starts now. All best wishes to you and Mary.
Let’s hope all now returns to normal……
Thanks, Helen. We have our fingers and paws crossed that life will be much kinder now.
