~ Tails Around the Ranch

Hi guys, I’m off to visit my favorite spot, West Pines today. Mom managed to get us an extra shift here before she leaves on vacation Friday [feel free to shame her for not taking me]. She mentioned something about ‘maybe’ not being able to post much during her 8 days away but she wasn’t sure. The plan was to prepare a few in advance but life got in the way and now she has to deal with a freezer that went out last night before she leaves. I just hope my bones are okay.

So if you don’t hear from us, you’ll know mom is being held hostage in a backyard teepee by the ‘grands.’ Make it a great Hump Day.

  8. Sand Spring Chesapeakes – Cambria, WI – My husband and I have six "furry" children Gambler, Glory, Guilty, Slammer, Gertie and one cat Bones and two furangel's Norman and Nellie. We breed Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. We are both avid hunters. We also enjoy competing with our dogs in hunt tests and field trials. That is where you can find us during the trial months which are April-September. When were not at a trial we are busy training our dogs. We go snow goose hunting in Canada each year and do all the hunting that Wisconsin offers.

  12. I was reading too fast and I thought I saw that you were planning an 8 day vacation at West Pines. Of course my first question was…well, why NOT bring the pups. Then I had some coffee and figured out what was going on. Have a good vacay and have lots of fun. I’m told that absence makes the Spoo hearts grow fonder.

  26. CC – Cristina is Italian born, and though she has lived most of her life all over the U.S. she considers herself Italian...she just can't speak it very well! As with many other things, she is working on that (although it's a bit harder the older she gets). Still, there are just so many hours in a day. After leaving the lovely climes of Southern California she went to the heat, humidity, and insect-infested state of Alabama. She struggled for five years to be a "big girl" amidst the crickets-on-steroids, the snakes, scorpions, and other creepy crawlers of the day (and night!). It really is true what they say; "It's a jungle out there!" After another stint in Northern Virginia she is trying once again to find a new normal (as well as some bliss) in her new state, Florida. Cristina is happily married to a loving husband and has two grown children. Her medium-standard poodle love crossed the rainbow bridge in 2023 but he remains forever in her heart.
