Monday Musings ~ April 15, 2019

Even though today is the dreaded Tax Day filing deadline in the US, let’s start the week out with a smile instead of a moan. And what could induce a bigger smile than an elephant?

One of the most recognizable animals in the world, the largest living land mammal is social, extremely intelligent and demonstrates uncanny problem solving skills.

Elephants

Here’s to a terrific Monday. Get out there and climb a few fences but do it safely and try not to trample too much of the surrounding  scenery.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. Elephants are incredible creatures and really, we understand so little about them. I love to see them. Thanks for that. Weekend, thus far, has been very good. May it continue throughout the week.

    1. I have yet to know anyone who is captivated by elephants. And for good reason. Wishing you, Annabelle and Benji a wonderful ‘howliday’ weekend.🐰🐣

  2. I usually get my taxes done well ahead of time! However, the business I do bookkeeping for preferred to keep it all to the last minute. Ugh.
Apparently elephants are far more graceful than you’d expect!! 🙂

    1. Right. Big feet do have a habit of getting in the way when it comes to delicate tiptoeing. 🤣

  3. Okays, that looks like Ma tryin’ to step overs the dog gate!!!! BOL!!!! shhhh…don’t tells her I said that, k? Butts, what a kind and sweet elephant! Ma always has loved them so much. When she was a wee lass, mannnnnnnnny moons ago, the local zoo had an elephant with the same name as my Ma, and her brudder would call her fat like an elephant! she didn’t care cause she wasn’t fat, and elephants are cool! ☺ It’s always good to have the last laugh….
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥

  4. Hi Monika,
Thanks so much for sharing that! I absolutely loved it!
Hope you’re having a good week. Woke up to the dreadful news of the Notre Dame fire today. Feel quite shattered about it as I spent abut a month in Paris back in 1992 and have so many memories. It’s such an incredibly spiritual place, quite aside from it’s obvious role as a Cathedral.
A friend of ours and her daughter were also in a horrific car accident on the weekend but came out without a scratch. Life is feeling very fragile at the moment yet also quite tenacious. My friend is fine and the Cathedral didn’t collapse and will be rebuilt.

    1. Watching the video of it burning yesterday was heartbreaking. Social media was filled with peoples images of visiting the cathedral and of course, the timing could not be worse. Praying it can be restored, it’s far too iconic of a structure to lose. Blessings for a lovely Easter week.

    1. Males usually plough through but suspect this lady has figured out dainty doesn’t rile up the locals.

          1. My thought wa to allow the elephant to have gates so they don’t have to step over fenses. I think your point was good in that they might foget to close a few (The elephants that is)

    1. Just thinking and recalling a childhood memory about the possibilities sends shudders down my spine. I still have the physical (and mental) scars from when I got hung up on a chain link fence! Yikes!!

  5. wowie! I’m so in love with elephants. Since we saw an exhibit of them at Nat Geo in DC once. The females have best friends, that watch over each other through life. They are godmothers in case something happens, they take care of each other’s babies. People don’t realize how smart and kind, and social they are. LeeAnna

    1. It’s a wonderfully matriarchal society from which humans could learn a whole heck of a lot.

    1. These are amazing creatures. I think only rogue males smash through the fences-they can be fairly destructive. 😉 LOL

    1. They are such amazing creatures, who doesn’t smile at even the thought of an elephant? 😃Here’s to a terrific Monday and week!

    1. They are truly one of the most remarkable creatures on earth. Wishing you a week filled with more amazing sights. Happy Monday.
