Monday Musings ~ June 1, 2020

S’up, peeps? Happy first day of June. Hope your weekend was extra swell. As you can see, Stormin’ Norman is feeling far more perky this week than last. The giant-sized donut collar arrived yesterday, and not a day too soon. I’m sure I heard the house give a collective sigh of relief. I know the back of my knees did. Norman actually gave a long extended butt wiggle when the dreaded cone came off. It’s good to see him happier and able to navigate without harming himself or his surroundings.

Norman

Here’s to having a ‘pawsome’ Monday. Stay cool…June seems to want to follow in May’s footsteps with toasty temps so rather than finding us poolside, we’ll be hanging out in the blissfully air-conditioned indoors. Besides we don’t have a pool.

Live, love, bark!  🐾

    1. He’s getting there. We just got back from the vet who removed his stitches but say some inflammation on the incision so he’ll have to take a course of antibiotics and remain on limited activity for another month.

    1. Thanks Ruby! You’re so right-these soft collars are soooo much more comfortable. 😍 Next up, removal of the stitches on Wednesday 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

  3. I am so glad that Stormin Norman’is much better. I am not familiar with the soft collar but the word “soft” I like very much. Better on legs, knees and furniture. Benji like his ice-cream not a lot but he does get some each night/ Not from me, I might add – which only leaves one culprit. You know, now that restrictions on travel within the state are lifted, I find I don’t want to go anywhere. Stay Safe.

    1. Thanks John. I’m worse than the dogs when it comes to heat. They no doubt appreciate that ☺️

    1. Thanks, Helen. The difference from last week is amazing! Next up…stitches getting removed on Wednesday.

    1. Ha! Ice cream for me, I think Norman would prefer some nice big bones. 🦴🍖🍗

    1. Those cones, while protecting, really depress pets. I’m glad he’s able to enjoy himself once again.

    1. Thanks, he’s getting impatient with life as he knew it before the surgery. The boy is not so patient 😁

    1. Thanks so much for the well wishes. Give Finley a nice ear rub from us! 💖

    1. Thank you. He’s so ready to get back to being the full fledged Stormin’ Norman.

  4. Well done, N. You look happier and MUCH more comfortable in your fancy new collar. Keep smiling and healing and moving in the right direction.

    Love and licks,
    Cupcake

    1. Thanks, Cupcake. The countdown has started-Wednesday is the day for the stitches to come out.

    1. Even though I’m ‘kinda’ biased, he is pretty cute if I do say so myself. 🐶

  5. Norman is so totally adorable – Our temps are pretty consistently high also. Trying to find the right time in the AM to run out to the beach with Jaxson. Harley could care less about the sand and the surf. I want to go early before the rush of people. Stay safe my friend, stay sane!

    1. You as well. We go first thing in the morning for our walk to avoid the heat. I am constantly floored at people who take their black dogs out running at noon-what the dog is wrong with people. Stay safe and keep smiling. Digital ear scritches for Jaxson and Harley.

  6. I’m glad Norman is doing better. He’s a cutie pie too. Awww.

Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. Scritches to the pups. ♥

    1. Thanks, Sandee. Couldn’t be happier with his progress. Happy first week of June.

    1. Yes, it’s definitely a ‘fur-bulous’ creation. the kind of great idea where I keep asking myself, “why didn’t I think of that?” 😊

    1. 😊 It was that tender part behind the knee and the highest part of the shins that are a bit sore but they’ll will be fine in no time. Especially once the stitches are removed.

    1. He’s definitely enjoying this one-so much more comfy than the satellite dish cone.

  7. Oh YESSSS! Score one for those wonderful soft collars – keeping Norman safe and keeping your knees from being assaulted at the same time. I know he (and you) are happy about that. Happy June!

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy
