Monday Musings ~ July 15, 2024

Monday smiles

Here we are again. It’s hard to be enthusiastic about setting another record breaking day…but hopefully it will be the last one for a while. We hope everyone had a good weekend, stayed as cool as possible as well as hydrated and that this week is kinder and more gentle to you. The countdown for a cool front to arrive is on to which we say…yes please.

Have a great day and an even better week. Happy Monday.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

  1. Well, I meow and am in a different sphere now, but I LOVE the watercolor on your blog and love that doggy, even if he IS a doggy. Just kidding. Love to hear about the Mile High place…

    1. Many thanks for the kind comment on the updated header, LouLou. We love visitors, whether they meow or bark. You’re always welcome to hear about all the Mile High goings on around the Ranch. 💙

  2. Yeah, we get it. We think tomorrow is our last day before we get a (very brief) respite from that awful heat. Thank goodness for a/c.

    1. I’ll take it. Anything different from this relentless pizza oven we’re in right now. Amen on the AC gratitude. I’m been sick that my daughter in the Houston suburbs had no power for just shy of a week.

  3. Mew mew mew Wilson you look toe-tally reelaxed!!!
BellaSita been sick all weekend beecause of THE heet Miss Monika….it has been UCKY even with all 3 fanss goin’.
Wee hope THE heet wave will brake soon!

    1. We hope so for you too. Please know we’re sending loads of POTP to her. 💙

  4. If we can make it through this week it should be cooler after that! Wilson’s pic made me smile. Such a happy guy!
I hope you have a kinder, gentler week, too! 🥰Still crossing my fingers for your daughter’s power to come back soon!!

    1. Thank you. It actually did come back. Had a slight outage but everything seems to be back on line.

Wilson wasn’t quite ready for a dawn walk-he cracked me up by hopping up on the bed, especially since he knows he’s not supposed to be up on the furniture. He easily relies on his cuteness. It’s kryptonite for me and he knows it!

    1. You got that right; we continue to be very grateful that swamp cooler works amazingly.

    1. Mid 80’s is definitely cool compared to the current record breaking temps. Guess it’s all relative, eh?

    1. Thank you, Ellen. I’ve postponed any shopping until the weather gets cooler. 😉 Good thing Chewy’s has the dogs covered. Me…well I can afford to lose a pound or two. LOL Happy Monday.

  5. I hear you. It’s finally cooler here after a horrid week of triple digit weather.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a woof woof day and week. Scritches to you both and a big hug to mom. ♥

    1. Thanks for linkup, Sandee. Glad your triple digit weather has past your area. It’s extremely tough to focus on anything other than heat when it’s been that hot. This morning it was toasty even at 5:30 am and the humidity was high for Denver which made the walk more miserable. We’re gonna stay in the rest of the day and wait for temps to be back in the 80’s before going grocery shopping. Parking lots are so horrid-I just can’t do them! Happy Monday; give those cutie pies ear rubs from us.

    1. Dogs, cats and peeps. It too hot for all of us out in these triple digit temps, Thomas. Tomorrow we should be back in the low 80’s. Yay. Hope you’re staying as cool as possible. Happy Monday.

  6. We have a few more days before this heatwave breaks. I hope you and the pups can stay cool and get out and enjoy things once the heat breaks.

    1. Thanks, Dan. I’ve postponed grocery shopping until the temps moderate. Luckily Chewy’s has the pups covered nicely. Happy Monday. Try to stay cool until the temps aren’t quite as hot.

    1. You and me both, though I’ve noticed more of them haven’t been as vocal during all these triple digit days. Maybe they’re coming around to more moderation. 🤞🏼 Happy Monday.

  7. Aw, I love this! 🐾❤️
I’m sending you all the cool, refreshing energies I can muster – hoping that cool front arrives soon and brings some relief!
Have a fantastic day and week!

    1. Many thanks. For the kind comment and the good wishes. Wilson hopped on the bed as I was preparing for our morning walk. It was like he wasn’t quite ready for Monday to start. 🙂 Happy Monday!

  8. You got that right. It’s the little things in life that are so appreciated but rarely acknowledged. Today we’ll be saying an extra prayer of thanks for that! Happy Monday.

  9. I do feel for you…..after the dreadfully hot summer we had I am so grateful for the start of the rainy season.

    1. Thanks, Helen. I hope the monsoons start soon 🤞🏼 At least we aren’t plagued with high temps AND high humidity like so many others experience. Happy Monday.

    1. I know what you mean. We got up at 4:30 this morning since it really didn’t cool down from yesterday’s 100+ year record being broken. Tomorrow and Wednesday will be much better. We hope. Have a good Monday and stay as cool as you can.

    1. That’s the same forecast for here (the hot part anyway-our humidity is usually very low)…at least we hope so. The heat has made for terrible ozone alerts which makes even early morning outings not so great. We hope you have a Happy Monday.

  10. Cool front not in sight for us – but there are a few chances for rain which we would appreciate…..today we’ll be 100 and tomorrow 101. EEEK! Keep as cool as you can everybody!

    Hugs, Pam (and Teddy)

    1. You too, Pam and Teddy. It’ll be hot today with…hopefully, a return to some sanity starting tomorrow for a few day before returning to typical July weather. Stay cool and have a Happy Monday.

    1. Yeah, we’re staying in today and hope with tomorrow’s forecast, morning walks can resume with vigor instead of dripping in miserable heat. It sure didn’t cool down last night and was pretty toasty this morning.
