Greetings sports fans, yeah, I know it’s not our usual day to post but I just couldn’t contain my excitement that our friends Ann and June from Zoolatry featured the House Pony on her blog today. Way to go Wilson, although I’m sure I would have been an equally pawsome feature subject. Elsa here, I’m very proud of my oaf of a brother, especially because he will begin bringing joy and smiles to all kinds of folks when he starts visiting the staff and patients at the new Lutheran facility which opened earlier this month. And a special shout out to dear Ann who created such fabulous badges-we love them both. Isn’t she amazing? Be sure to visit her website-she’s so creative and quite generous making badges of all types for the cats and dogs of Blogville. We are so very grateful to her for her work here and throughout Blogville. Way to go Ann!
Wilson’s Wagon will begin his probationary visits at the hospital next week and both Mom and he are so looking forward to bringing comfort to the folks at Lutheran. Once he completes his probationary period, he’s be awarded the purple scarf indicating he’s a full fledged pet therapy pooch. Couldn’t be more proud of the dude! Way to shine, “Intern Wilson.” You’re on your way to becoming a full fledged dogtor. And again, thanks every so much, Ann for doing an amazing job on today’s badges-you’re the best. That Denver skyline is the bomb! Don’t forget to drop by her truly wonderful blog. She’s the best!
Thanks, Bean. We are hopeful he does well. Mom knows she will need to bring large bag of treats to get his carcass in and out of the elevator. 😆
Your friend,
Elsa 🐾

Yay for Wilson!!! Congrats 👏! You will charm everyone!
Great job, Elsa, in bragging about your brother. And yes, you would have been an awesome subject, too, of course. 🥰
Love Wilson’s Wagon!
Have a celebratory weekend!! ❤️.and have your mom.check her email. 😊
Ann really is great, and we’re heading there next. In the meantime, Wilson, we just wanna say, you’re gonna be a super star at that hospital! XOX Xena and my pack
Aww, thanks so much for the kind comment. Yes, Ann is an absolute master of creating fantastic badges. I loved the Denver skyline showing what’s known as the cash register building on that first one. It’s a downtown Denver skyline landmark!
Congratulations on being featured, Wilson. The badges Ann made for you are lovely. Good luck with your therapy training and I hope you are soon wearing the purple scarf.
Thank you, John. We are very grateful for Ann’s amazing work and hope that next week’s adventures will be great. It’ll be nice getting back to the hospital.
Ann is so good at making these badges for all the furry ones in Blogville!!
We just KNOW that soon Wilson will be one of the bestest therapy pups evfur!!
Thank you, Terry. She sure did do an amazing job-we couldn’t be more tickled with the results! And we’re looking forward to getting all spiffed up before meeting folks at the hospital. They’re going to love the big hunka-love who’ll be nice & floofy and will smell ever-so wonderful.
WILSON! I am proud of you. Truly. And your mom too, as I assume she trained you, and will continue to do so through your probationary period. GOOD boy. VERY proud of you,. That is quite an accomplishment both for you and of course, your Mom.
Thanks so much, Carole. Because I’ve only had Wilson a mere seven months, I’m slow rolling his introduction to pet therapy with an extended probationary period (both Angels Sam and Norman were approved right away). There’ll be lots for him to take in and want to set him up for success rather than quickly integrating him. He’s super sensitive but expect him to be a nice addition to the program. We’re looking forward to bringing comfort and smiles to folks.
Our therapy dog group doesn’t have a probationary period, but it’s not a bad idea. We’ve been doing therapy visits for going on 10 years now. It’s so rewarding, seeing the smiles that blossom, when our therapy dogs are spotted!
Angel Sam (and inspiration for this blog) began visiting patients back in 2014 and logged in nearly 8 years bringing smiles to nurses and patients. He retired in 2020 and passed shortly thereafter at age 14-1/2. He was particularly gifted with the mental health patients but his visits were enjoyed by everyone. When Angel Norman joined us he too was a hospital favorite; I just wish he would have stayed with us longer-he passed last year. I knew another sheepdog would be very welcomed but it took longer to find a rescue. Once we did, I began the process of getting him approved. He sailed through multiple vet evaluations and now will do practice visits before his final eval. The hospital recently opened in a new location and we’re so excited about getting to impact the community in this new, state of the art facility. Course traveling on the elevator should be ‘interesting.’ The rest of it should be a breeze for this lovely giant.
You’re so right, sharing these sweet animals with others is the best work I’ve ever enjoyed. I always feel like we gain so much more than we give and in all actuality, the dogs do all the work, I merely drive. Bless you for sharing your dogs with others. That just makes my heart soar.
Congratulations Wilson!!! We agree – Ann is the master badge-maker and artist and she certainly did some fun ones for you. By the way, we think Wilson will be a BIG (and we do mean BIG) hit at the hospital. It’s the perfect thing for him to do – and earning a royal purple scarf – that’s a photo opportunity we hope you’ll get to share with us!!
Thanks, Teddy and Mom, Pam. Ann is such a good friend to all in Blogville and has always been generous and kind. We’re ever so grateful for her.
We hope the House Pony becomes a hospital favorite. Folks still ask about Norman and can only hope Wilson musters the challenge of his angel brother by providing loving care that everyone he meets there.
Congratulations Wilson on being a cover model and your internship! You deserve the purple scarf! But of course Elsa you taught him everything he knows right?!
Thanks Martha and Chester. Nah, I just tell him what to do. Angels Norman and Sam bestowed the knowledge on him. I’d do it if it weren’t for the stress new environments inflict on me which could trigger seizures. But I’ll be with him every step of the way (except for the rides on the elevator-no way I’m going on one of those) and will be jealous for all the attention and treats he’ll get.
Wilson OMDs what a handsome boy I am happy to meet you. Ann and June made a purrfect intro today too. I know Elsa and Mom are happy to have a strong handsome boy living and lovin’ with them And Stormin’ Norman is for sure doing a happy dance seeing that you are gonna be a therapy dog like he was. Hugs and keep up the good work and training
Cecilia
Thanks so much for the kind comment, Cecilia. We are so thrilled with what Ann made for us. She’s just awesome. And we’re all excited about finally getting to walk in Norman and Angel Sam’s pawprints. Wilson has some big pawprints to fill but I’m sure he’ll do just fine. He loves people and they seem to love him. Hugs and tail wags.
Thanks, Helen. Ann is an amazing artist and kind soul. We 💙 her. And we’re looking forward to the first visit next week in the new facility-it’s gorgeous and state of the art. Can’t wait.
Java Bean: “Ayyy, we love that Wilson Welcome Wagon! We are sending tail wags for a successful visit to the hospital next week!”
Thanks, Bean. We are hopeful he does well. Mom knows she will need to bring large bag of treats to get his carcass in and out of the elevator. 😆

Thank you, Jackie. Yes, Ann really out did herself-that’s the perfect Denver skyline on the first badge. She’s amazing!
Congratulations to Wilson and well done to Ann. Will look forward to the stories from the facility.
Thank you, John. We are very grateful for Ann’s amazing work and hope that next week’s adventures will be great. It’ll be nice getting back to the hospital.
I’ll bet. Wilson looks so comforting, I’m sure he will be a hit.
Hope so. I only worry about the elevator training. It flummoxed both Norman & Sam too and neither of them enjoyed riding on it.
Congratulations sweet Wilson, that’s wonderful news! Wishing you lots of fun and best of luck with your probationary period 🧡🍀
Many thanks, Xenia. I’m hoping he takes to it right away and the probationary period is short. I’m very excited to be able to share this sweet boy.
Very cool!
Thanks. Ann did an amazing job.
Wilson is an amazing pup too.
Thanks, I think so but we’ll see how well he adapts his skills to pet therapy. 🤞🏼 🤞🏼 🤞🏼

Cute! Did you do that lovely artwork at the top? So sweet.
Thank you. I did ‘watercolorize’ it but it’s Ann’s image she created.
