Monday Mo(a)nings

Monday

You may (or may not) have realized we’ve been MIA lately. In case you’ve missed us, we (as in me) have experienced some technical difficulties. Last week a particularly ugly stomach bug showed up so I’m a bit behind on visiting blogs. Please be patient as I rejoin the human race and regain my strength mojo. For the record I have turned the corner and am feeling better but it’s going to take some time getting all the pistons running smoothly again. I’ll get there but don’t worry, I’ll get caught up (eventually). Meanwhile the dogs think my return this means extra walks/attention to make up for the time they missed out on last week.

On the plus side, Wilson earned his official pet therapy dog status just before I got sick. He is now able to visit as an official member of Lutheran’s pet therapy program. He lit up a lot of people up during his test and made a jillion new friends. In all the years I’ve been the pet therapy chauffeur, I don’t think we’d ever seen as many people. He was so tired when we came home he actually snored, something he’s never done before.

Hope life has treated you well during our absence. Please stay safe and healthy and by all means, do not catch this bug. It’s ugly and mean. Happy Monday.

    1. Thanks. You’re so right, rear view mirror views are the best after you’ve been sick. 🙂

  1. We’re glad to hear that you’re feeling better, Monika. Those bugs are so annoying, when they’re gone, you still feel…eh… bugged out…😸😸Purrfectly done, Wilson, concatulations and that nap is well deserved. Healing Pawkisses for your mommy and for you and Elsa too🐾😽💞

    1. Boy, isn’t that the truth? Haven’t felt that crummy in ages. Thanks for the well wishes.

  2. I have noticed, and so sorry you been sick. I hope you feel back to 100 percent soon. The stomach bug is awful! Hope your furry friends have given you TLC! 🧡 (((Hugs)))

    1. Thanks. They seem to know something’s not quite kosher, in fact, Wilson is super clingy and thinks by squashing my legs, I’ll get better. Oy. #ohthatdog

  3. Charlee: “Oooh, not a stomach bug! Our Dada haaaates stomach bugs.”
Oona: “Why does he hate them more than other types of bugs?”
Lulu: “Because he CATCHES stomach bugs. He fends off respiratory bugs pretty well though.”
Oona: “Ahhh. That does seem like a good reason to Oona.”
Chaplin: “We cats send lots of purrs for you to continue to feel better!”
Java Bean: “And we dogs send lots of tail wags!”

    1. There’s something very unsettling about stomach bugs (pun intended). I’m with your Dada. Respiratory bugs can be managed but you’re completely held hostage with digestive upheaval.

    1. Thanks so much Terry. We’re excited about bringing a spot of joy to people and I’m especially grateful to be feeling better!

  4. Oh, Dear, Glad you are feeling better now, Stomach bugs are the worst…
We had norovirus at my work several years ago, and as I was helping a lady to move in her bed, she upchucked all over me. We didn’t even know she had the virus at the time, and the next day, yours truly had it too. Violent and ugly, but for most peeps at least it’s short lived. I was OK after a couple of days. Not a fun way to lose weight!

Condogulations, Winston! Enjoy your new job!!

    1. Yikes, so sorry about that…what a cluster. Those stomach bugs are really nasty-mine lasted 4 days but I’m very grateful to have it over. You’re so right…it’s no way to lose weight! I think Wilson will be a great ambassador for big dogs.

    1. Thanks, Dan. He’s going to be a lovely addition to the program. Yes, I can honestly say, there’s nothing worse than a stomach bug. Thankfully I’m vastly improved over last week.

  5. Many congratulations to you and sweet Wilson dear Monika, that is wonderful news! 🎉 Hope you continue to feel better and better and much love to you all 💕🐕 xxx

    1. Thanks, John. Mojo is coming returning (good thing, too-there’s lots to do and catch up on. Wilson is going to be a nice addition to the program-I’m excited for him and the hospital.

    1. Many thanks sweet kitty and mum. I’m feeling better with each passing hour. That tummy bug is a whopper…I don’t wish it on ANYONE! Hope that means I’ll be healthy the rest of the season. 🤞🏼

Ok, please keep me posted as to when the strike is over so we can send our loving good howliday wishes. 💙

            1. Thanks. Had a slight relapse last night but better today. Think I overdid yesterday. Taking it easy today.

    1. Kiitos paljon, Kristinna. And yes, the last couple of days have seen positive improvement. Wilson is a good boy and I’m glad others will be able to smile with him.

    1. Thanks so much, Amy. Appreciate it. Feeling better today so think I’m headed in the right direction. 🤞🏼 Happy Monday.

  7. Yikes…….I haven’t had a tummy bug in quite a long time but they are MISERABLE and I’m glad you’re feeling better. Be gentle with that tummy for a while – no HOT and SPICY for instance! Wilson – you are a wonder boy – you are going to make a lot of people very happy you cute thing. Congratulations…..

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

    1. Thanks so much, Pam and Teddy. I’m thrilled Wilson did well enough to pass with flying colors. You’re so right, tummy bugs are the pits! Nice bland food with a touch of comfort for a while. 😉 Happy Monday.

  8. Oh you poor thing. Stomach bugs are nasty. So glad you have turned the corner and are starting the uphill climb to full health.
Way to go Wilson! Wonderful boy you are.
Lots of love sent your way.

    1. Aww, thank you for the well wishes. Wilson & I are looking forward to nice visits with folks. And you are sooo right, stomach bugs are the worst! Hugs and tail wiggles for a happy Monday.

  9. Good news on getting rid of the stomach bug and a big congratulations to Wilson. Well done.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the pups and a big hug to mom. ♥

  10. Glad to hear you’re on the road to recovery, take care of yourself and give Wilson a BIG congratulatory hug from his online furiends!

    1. Thanks, Lisa. Wilson accepts the congratulatory hugs followed by a good walk and/or treat…whichever comes first. 😉 Happy Monday.

    1. Thanks, Debra. Doing better and hope Wilson enjoys all his new found friends in the future. Happy Monday.

  11. Congrats to Wilson. Good boy! Please accept this virtual cookie reward 🍪. And M – glad to know you are on the mend. Take it easy as you get you “mojo” runnin’ and head (back) out on the highway. The blogosphere seemed a little empty last week…. 😉. Have a healthy week at the ranch!

    1. Thanks, Mike. Wilson is very grateful for the treat. It’s never fun being sick but the timing couldn’t have been more challenging. It’s a busy time and being in bed for 4 days didn’t help. We hope you and the Golden Girls have a ‘wagnificent’ week!

    1. Thanks. While I think patients like the little dogs, the nurses adore the big guys. It’s cute seeing them gather around him like a harem 😉

  12. Those bugs are so debilitating….glad to hear you are pulling through…but don’t let the dogs bully you into doing too much.
Well done Wilson! No wonder he was tired!

    1. Thanks, Helen. He enjoyed all the attention but I knew he was spent. So it seems was I, it just took me a day or so for it to hit. Thankfully, the digestive system seems to be back online. Wishing you and the Thugs a great Monday.

  13. Sorry about catching a nasty bug. Being sick is no fun. Congrats, though, to Wilson. I guess he will love his new job as a therapy dog. Take it slow and hope you are back to 100% soon. Mom says dogs are a bit like men, they don’t understand why women can’t do everything as usual even when they are sick, but if a man sneezes he acts like he is dying, LOL. We dogs don’t get it when Mom can’t do things as usual either.

    1. Thanks guys, I’m doing better today. Your Mom is very astute on observing the absurd notions regarding gender and illness. It’s staggering how men act when they get sick.

I think Wilson will do well as a therapy dog-he enjoys the attention and seems to relish making people smile. His little wiggler was in overdrive. Have a great week. Happy Monday.

  14. I have noticed indeed. I am very very glad to see you this morning. The last time I had a stomach bug like that, (and there was spasming pain with it) was while I was overseas. Not the best place to go thru it. SO glad you are getting better and Wilson, you totally handsome darling, congratulations on your fine achievement! xx

    1. Thank you, Carole. I’ve not been sick like that in years. Glad it’s in the rear view mirror-whew. The spasms happened first and then it got worse. Can’t imagine being overseas experiencing something like that. And as a pet mom, there’s much too much to do; we just don’t have the luxury to be out of commission. Enjoy a great Monday and an even better week.
