Monday Musings ~ September 29, 2025

Welcome to the last Monday of September. We hope you had a ‘pawsitively’ wonderful weekend. We actually managed to combine rescue work with some fun along with a bit of leaf peeping and are looking forward to sharing some scenes on Nature Friday.

But it’s a new week which means we need to start the week out with a smile. Let’s revisit the El Arroyo Restaurant again for one of those life questions the lactose intolerant are wanting to know. What do you think?

Signs

Have a happy Monday and a swell week. We’re looking forward to welcoming October…our favorite color.

Live, love, bark! 🐾

    1. Thanks for swinging by-with apologies for the late approval of you nice comment which was buried in the spam folder.

    1. Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. And thanks for leaving a comment which I just realized was stuck in the spam folder. We 💙 visitors and appreciate you swinging by.

            1. Thanks, I’m sure things will get better, it’s just the ‘getting there’ that will take some time. #takingdeepbreaths 💙

              1. Understand that! I am very well practiced at taking deep breaths when needed. Too bad I can’t hop over and visit with you over some tasty drinks. 😊

      1. It was a nice chill day, thank you.

As for those Yankees, they wasted a great effort by Fried last night. Why do managers insist on handing a starting pitcher’s masterpiece to the bullpen? It drives me nuts. Fried was on a hundred pitches, leave him in!

        1. Glad your day was ‘chill’ but sorry about the Yanks. Let’s just hope they can ‘right the ship’ on the next game. 🤞🏼

          1. They scrapped out a win last night but now they’re going with a pitcher who . . well, it’s a dubious situation. Let’s hope the kid brings the positive side of his talents to tonight. Otherwise I am never, ever going to hear the end of this.

    1. Thank you. Yes, October is most definitely a color! Hope it’s as wonderfully color filled week!

    1. Glad you got a laugh out of it. Nobody ever said puns were 💯 % accurate. 😆 Happy Monday. Hope you guys are staying safe and dry.

    1. Oh no, sorry about the heat and humidity returning. It’s been pleasant here and there actually was a nice little shower about a half an hour ago. Hope things start to level out. I just saw where the first first is normally around October 7 here (and first measurable snow date is 10/17. I wouldn’t be heartbroken if that’s the case. Hope you have a good Monday and a great week.

    1. So glad you enjoyed it. And thank you for swinging by-we 💙 visitors. Sorry we didn’t see it sooner-it was stuck in the spam folder.

    1. Thanks, Dale. Seemed time to change the ole header to something a bit more autumnal. Those signs always give me a chuckle and make for a good way to start out the week. Here’s hoping your Monday has been fantastic.

      1. Well… It’s a beauty, tell you what!
They are so great. Love the humour of these guys.
Let’s just say I am so very glad it is OVER! It was one thing after another.

        1. You’re too kind. Yes, the El Arroyo signs (and the signs from local guy, Vince) always make me smile. Yeah, yesterday was a 💩 day for me too. It looks much better in the rear view mirror. Luckily today, we have a clean slate-let’s make the most of it! 🤞🏼

          1. I am not! I speak truth 🙂
They are so cool! And even better that they are where you are.
Oh yes. Today is MUCH better than yesterday!
            And pssst… I didn’t tell you this, but it’s Marc’s birthday today 😉

            1. So glad today is better than yesterday. A nice clean fresh start makes for a much better day.
P.S. Yes, I know all about the birthday boy and sent him an email greeting first thing this morning. 😉 Hope his day is as special as he is. Enjoy the celebration!

  1. Ha, good one. Made me LOL, especially since I don’t speak Spanish but do understand a few phrases. I’m not a fan of Soy anything but do like October (with the exception of it comes right before November and wet and cold…). October is a beautiful time at The Golden K. Have a great week the Ranch!

    1. Thanks, Mike. Glad you enjoyed the sign. It cracked me up. I’m not a soy fan either but did have to chuckle. You know me-love a good silly pun. We excited for glorious October where the Rocks fell to your Giants. Yet again. What a horrible season best not remembered. Worse season in Rockies history with 119 losses. Yikes…can you say horrible?! Have a great Monday and please pass along some nice ear rubs from us to the Golden girls.

        1. Hard? Try impossible. They’ve managed to alienate any fan status through their dreadful and ongoing mismanagement. I haven’t gone to a Rockies game in years-it’s not worth the effort or aggravation. 😬

    1. You’re so right about the need for more smiles and more laughter needed these days. We’ll try to keep it going.

  2. Bwahahahahahaha. I laughed out loud.

I linked this post to Awww Mondays.

Have a fabulous day and week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to handsome Wilson. ♥

    1. Hee, hee…so glad you enjoyed today’s smile. It sure cracked me up. Hoping your Monday is fab and the week a notch above that, dear Sandee. Thanks for adding us to your blog hop-you’re the best.

  3. Our weather has been so fantastic the last week or two. Maybe a slight big warmer than usual but not stinking hot. I hope October continues the streak with an opportunity to wear a new sweater or two. I think I enjoy the change of wardrobe as much as the change of seasons.

    1. I hear ya, I washed all the summer trousers and put them away for the season. Nothing better than pulling out sweaters to wear when walking in fallen leaves. Happy Monday, Kate!

    1. Glad to provide a snicker on a Monday. Hope the day gets better for you, Helen. Happy Monday.
