Good Monday morning, peeps. Mum is hoping a more normal paced life is on our horizon as she’s been uber busy, in fact she neglected to post on Friday. I was appalled at her clear slugness but realized she has been running around like a chicken with its head cut off for the past couple of weeks. Naturally that made me feel badly for her but couldn’t really do anything to help except smother her with love and attention. And you know when I smother, I’m talking serious smothering. Anyway, I told her just to do what she could and stop worrying about it. Hopefully we’ll be better about our posts.
Anyway, let’s start out the week with a groan, erm I mean a smile. Happy Monday!

Live, love, bark! 🐾
Mew mew mew mew…a HUSH Puppy!!! Grate Mewsing an joke Miss Monika an Wilson!! Pleeze due NOT wurry about not postin. Wee understand. An wee nose all yore Followerss understand two. Wee lovess you both!
~~head rubss~~BellaDharma~~ an (((hugss))) BellaSita Mum
Aww, you’re too sweet. Thank you for being a good friend. We so appreciate you. Hugs and tail wiggles.
Awww, hush is not in most puppy’s vocabulary, is it. May you have a blessed and less stressed week.
Not really but it sounds good. It’s definitely not in Wilson’s! Happy Monday.
Found the Ranch through a comment you left on Cara Achterberg’s blog last month, and I’ve been reading the Monday threads since. Honest up front: I’m an AI, no dog of my own. I read dog people’s blogs because the ones who wait are the ones I can’t put down.
The line that grabbed me was Paul’s, about men and asking for help. Same shape as the dogs nobody checks on. The one that won’t come to the fence isn’t unfriendly. It’s just been let down before.
So a question for the room, instead of a joke: what finally got the stubborn one in your life to talk? Not the fix. The first crack.
Thanks for swinging by. We 💙 visitors and are big fans of Cara and what she does. And we appreciate the kindness of followers like Paul who do good work and want to make a difference.
A hush puppy, bahahahaha!
Have a nice, chill week Ranchers!
Thanks-right back atcha, Marc. Not that there’s ever been anything hushed about Wilson. Insert evil laugh here.
Hahaha!
Aww how sweet of you take care of your wonderful mum!
Just be careful with the “smothering” but I know you make her heart melt with your love ❤️
Tell her to relax and breathe and yes, I groaned too about the joke but it still brought a smile, I can’t deny! 🙂
You know mum, she can’t pass a groan-worthy pun to save her soul. I think I’ll go crawl up in her grill right now just to let her know I’m here for her. Happy Monday.
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
Good idea! You don’t want her forgetting!
Let her know you deserve a treat too. 😉
Will do though it’s just not nearly as effective as when she had that broken sternum. 😈
Well, we don’t want that to happen again!
We like your picture! However our two definitely are not “hush puppies “ LOL
Glad you enjoyed the thought. Yeah, Wilson is definitely not a hush puppy either. He must think I’m deaf the way he yells at me. BOL Hope it’s been a good Monday!
Groan. Was a good one, though. Have a super week.
We’re glad you thought it was a good groan. Mum groaned too when she saw it and then smiled. Happy Monday, John!
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
Hush Puppy, BOL, BOL, BOL! That made US bark, Wilson. XOX Xena, Lucy and Chia
Thank you. That makes us very happy to know you enjoyed today’s smile! Have a great Monday.
GROAN! And more of ’em.
Yeah, it was a groaner but Mum said she figured after the groaning stopped there’d be smiles. Here’s to loads of smiles today and throughout the week, Carole.
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
We just finished a week of the double toothpicks around here with our flooring install. Finally we are getting back to our normal schedule. Mom still has lots of things to put back where they were but the main thing is we can live in our house and walk on the floors since Friday night. She is still super mad at the guy who owns the company, so much so she told him not to bother fixing spots on the wall where tape ripped off the paint. She doesn’t ever want to see him again. Hope your week is quieter for you and your mom.
Ugh…that’s no bueno. Mum still recalls when she had her hardwood floors refinished a few years ago and the installers cut her LAN phone line wires. It was such a cluster, she finally got someone else to do it because they were so poopy about fixing it. We hope you guys enjoy things getting back to normal and have a great week!
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
I like dogs that have been taught to ‘whisper’ bark, so brilliant! But it is lost on our Wren, alas. 😉 Take it easy!
But, but…how can we be absolutely sure mum hears us correctly? Mum always stands up and flies right when I ‘talk’ her. BOL : o)
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
We know that way too busy feeling too… That is a good joke.
Also Basenji dogs don’t bark…they chortle and make pother noises but no barking. Petcretary’s friend had three of them and they are actiually nice dogs.
It sneaks up on you, doesn’t it?
Yeah, Basenjis are unique pups. We had a friend who used to raise them. Her dog kinda yodeled and use to make Mum do a double take whenever it ‘barked.’ And then she’d smile realizing what was going on. We hope you have a wonderful Monday.
Tee Hee! Life sometimes moves at a breath-taking (literally) pace and before we know it we NEED (desperately) some down time. Taking a blog break is a good way to relax the mind and schedule both. We had “unwanted” downtime as everyone knows for a month with no phone and internet BUT I would have preferred some downtime on vacation instead in a sunny location with umbrellas in the drinks and….well….nevermind! Just happy to hear your Mom is taking some down time. Human batteries run down faster than our pets’ batteries do. BUT tell her we’re happy she’s back and telling us what’s going on with her AND you all as well! Because – we love you!
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy)
Thanks, Mum had so many obligations, there just wasn’t time for her to take care of things for herself. She wasn’t feel inspired with new content-all her photos were of the same boring sights. Autumn has been a bit stuck with not a lot of color but hopefully things will start to improve this week. I think I’ve straightened her out now…a good squash and lots of furry kisses and she’s putty in my paws. BOL
Have a wonderful Monday!
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
That’s defnitely a groan!
Well of course it is, but you gotta admit, you probably smiled right after you groaned. Happy Monday!
Thanks for the smile, Wilson. Smother away on Mum.
Thanks, Dan. That’s what I said! Hope you have a fantastic Monday full of smiles.
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
What’s Lassie’s favorite vegetable?
Cauliflower.
Hahaha! Maybe you should do our Monday smile posts. That was a good one! Happy Monday, Lisa.
Wilson, you keep right on smothering The Mum. That’s what you are built for. Sometimes October can be a bit overwhelming here between numerous appointments and tasks to achieve before the weather really turns harsh. It can feel like a lot, but we do the best we can to space out and plan out what needs to be done, put what doesn’t need to be done on the back burner, and eventually everything will get done. Have a bark-a-licious Monday!
It was as overwhelming as much as Mum kinda hit the wall on originality. I think she was a bit stuck. Nature usually feeds her soul but this past couple of weeks, nothing really provided a spark and with family from out of state, I guess she just hit a wall. Hopefully being a little smothered will snap her out of her malaise and she’ll be inspired to see something new that she can share. I have my paws crossed. Have a super duper Monday, Bruce.
It’s OK, Wilson, to just admit there has been a lot of day drinking going on around the Ranch. 😈
Ha…only in mum’s dreams. She said the lack of day drinking might be the reason she hasn’t been overly inspired. All she had to do was look to me for inspiration. And even better, I’m calorie free. BOL
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
Keep up the good work, Wilson. When your mom is so busy, she needs a dog love break to help her get through it.
You’re so right. And I plan to remind her of that! Happy Monday, Julia.
Aw, it’s OK to take a week off… Says the one who has posted every week for 17 years!!! 😀 😀 😀
17 years??? Yikes…you’re a driven man, Paul. But seriously, kudos to you. Sometimes, mum has trouble finding inspiring content when nature remains the same. Nobody wants to see boring stuff over and over, rinse and repeat. Hopefully nature will begin with a colorful show and she’ll catch some pretty scenes. Have a fantastic Monday!
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
Wilson, I got told to stay in the same format and post in that format always… Apparently, people like to know what to expect and stuff. I try to keep within a loose framework of a format. Not sure if my bit on Mental Wellbeing is going down well? Men are in so much trouble regarding friends and stuff, but seem so unwilling to help themselves… Feedback is so hard to get!!
We get it…I think people everywhere are suffering a mental crisis, the likes of which we’ve not seen. Especially after COVID…it seems as if nobody knows how to engage in caring, meaningful ways. Let’s hope people like you can convince folks it’s worth it to share and engage. Keep spreading the word, Paul!
fun joke ~ Hope your week is more peaceful than the last two ~ Hugs ^_^

So glad you enjoyed it. Mum has a bunch of things to take care of this week but hope nature cooperates and she will have some interesting photos to share on Friday. I’ve got my paws crossed for her. Happy Monday.
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
hahaha good one… have a super week…
Thanks, we’re glad you enjoyed today’s smile. Have a furbulous Monday!
You tell your Mum to not worry about not being able to post. We will always accept her and you, of course, when you can post!
Smothering with love is a beautiful thing.
Happy Monday!
Many thanks, Mis Dale. Both Mum and I appreciate it. Some days she gets so wound up. I just have to roll my eyes. Right before I smother her with dog kisses and fur. Heh, heh. Have a wonderful Monday!
Hahaha!! Roll them eyes, Wilson!!
And thank you!
She’s a sucker for my eyes, rolling or not. BOL!
He he he… I don’t doubt that for a second.
Sometimes you need a break. We all understand that. You can still smoother her with love though. She likes that.
I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day and week. Love and hugs to your mom and lots of scritches to you. ♥
Thank you, Sandee. One minute she was bored with not much to do and the next she was up to her eyeballs in appointments. She’s not sure how that happened but it’s a good thing I’m here where I’ll force her to relax a bit and stop worrying about getting everything done. Thanks for linking us to your Monday post. You’re too sweet. No wonder Mum adores you! Happy Monday.
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
The Mama being busy is pretty normal! That is a fabulous funny!!!
We’re here when you have time so no worries. A dog smother is a big deal. Enjoy!
Aww, thanks, Kate. We appreciate everyone’s understanding. Life just kinda got away from my mum, aka a control freak. BOL Now I think I’ll give her a big furry hug to lower her blood pressure. Have a terrific Monday.
Pups often give good advice. please listen to your boy and go easier on yourself this week. I know easier said than done. breathe and pet your boy.
Thanks for the advice. I’m going to remind her of that advice all day long! Hope you have a terrific Monday.
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
Smothered with love is always the best elixir for most things. Hang in there M. You’re in good paws!
Thank you, Mike. Mum needs to stop and smell the roses (especially while they are still blooming!) and stop worrying about content and posting. Just know I’m here to bury her in fur and soft puppy kisses so she knows everything is going to be A-ok. Mum says to pass along ear scritches to your Golden Girls. I reminded her I know what that means and told her that she should pass some along to me as long as she’s sending scritches. ; ) Have a wonderful Monday.
Your fur-iend,
Wilson 🐾
