Hello everyone, it’s me Elsa…fabulous Ninja sister to Sam. I stole the blog from my naive brother by flipping a coin for it. Unfortunately he lost. I won (nah, nah, nah, nah, nah). Anyway, even though I won the coin flip gotta love those two sided coins, I promised it would only be a short post.
My mom complains says I’m too hard to photograph because I’m a black dog. Even in a well lite location my gorgeous facial features disappear especially if my fur is a little long. So after she whined about not being able to see my face yet again when I was chillin’ yesterday, I told her I would fix it. Well, what do you think?

As you can tell we had a nice relaxing weekend, how about you? Do anything exciting?
Live, love, bark! <3
Lovely eyes Elsa 😘😘
Why thank you!
Hahaha. Poor Elsa. I have a hard time getting a good picture of Tippy too. The fact that she does have some brown on her face helps a lot.

She’s tried everything, even our professional friend had a hard time seeing my sweet face. We’ll probably just ‘tape’ eyes on pics of me and my curly furs. 🙂
Mew mew mew what efurr werkss Elsa gurl…..mee finkss yur gorgeeuss!
Wow those are some lovely eyes!

Gah! No, E. Those eyes are wrong on so many levels. Yikes! We like your regular face.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
Whatever it takes. Next time, you could try some eyebrows – they work for Choppy!
We might shoot for some strategic highlights. 😉
Oh Elsa! You crack me up!
I do my level best even if my brother and mom don’t quite appreciate my sense of humor. 🐾
We love your new beautiful blue eyes Elsa!!
Smileys!

About those…I couldn’t find a lovely set of brown eyes so I went with the next best thing. Mom’s eyes are blue so I chose that.
Such a cute dog! <3
Thank you. My mom says I’m a bit of a pill. I think my brother would say something stronger. LOL
Hmm, smells like sibling rivalry!
Oh yessss! But I think I’m winning him over with my girly personality. He better start responding ‘pawsitively’ or I’ll beat him up! BOL
Tell your mom she should paint a portrait of you. That would give her more flexibility to show your beautiful dark eyes against your curly coat.
She’s working on something but it might take several days. Since my brother has to go to the hospital this week and mom has to drive him, it may be next week before we can share it. 🙂
Your fur-iend,
Elsa🐾
Hahahaha….good idea! I have the same problem with Luke. He’s black and white but photos would be easier if his face was the white part, not black! Now we know what to do. 🙂
hello gorgeous! or…gramma what big eyes you have!
Bwahaha! I am getting more and more kind of wolfish the longer I’m with my mom.
We like you best as is, Elsa … but that picture is nice in its own way! I went to the BlogPaws conference last year and the lady running the workshop on photography said it’s best to photograph dark subjects on a dark background. It seems counter-intuitive, and I’m not entirely sure it’s true … but maybe it will help you 🙂 Bear is dark too and we get no natural light in our unit so I’m forever editing pictures to death.
Mom had professional photos taken at Christmas with a dark background and even the photographer said it’s hard to get any highlighted details on dark colored dogs. I was even laying in front of the sunny window with a doorway open letting some light in. I’m just a Ninja, first and always. 😇
that photo cracked me up! Your Mama is one silly lady! xoxo
I think it pawfectly captures my essence. 🐾
Haha, thank you for the smile! Completely understand the pain of photographing a black dog, but they are worth it! 🙂
Totally. While you may not be able to see their faces they show you their hearts. Every. Single. Day. ღ
Couldn’t agree more! <3
So is this the doggy version of Mr. Potato Head?
Hey, I
resembleresent that remark.Haha cute! I know the pain of trying to see their pretty eyes with such dark hair! Paisley either has no eyes or has glowing alien eyes lol…
So true!
Hilarious! I clearly did not have as much fun as you all at the Ranch.
Every day is a fun day, some just more than others. 😉
Had the same issue with my black cat Jake. If I could get him in the sunlight, all was good.
Mom says our personalities show through even in the dark.
Haha…LOL!!
Glad to hear from you here, Elsa. I hope you’re doing fine and dandy.
Have a great week,
Pit
Ganz gut, vielen dank, Herr Pit. Und eine gute Woche für Sie.
🙂
Elsa spricht Deutsch! WOW? 😉
Ja, Ich bin ein Deutscher Hund (meist).
Dann wuensche ich Dir alles Gute! Hab’ eine feine Woche!
Auch Ihnen!
Danke!
We have the same problem with Kali. Black pups are the hardest to get adopted.
Kitties and pups both. So sad, they have so much to offer.
Good morning Else. Oh those Beautiful eyes. Our dog Sammy is black and his brother Bear is golden, similar to your family only not poodles. 😎
Those color combos make for loads of fun, don’t they?
Yes they do.
Silly girl! You black pups ARE difficult to photograph well! Ducky had such a cute expression on her face last night, and I couldn’t capture it…so disappointing!
Exactly, no one gets to see how truly adorable we are-their loss!
Hi there Elsa – well done on the coin toss. I wont tell Sam – I know nutting! Didn’t really do anything exciting on the weekend. We went out for a bit of a drive, but stayed away from the Beach – too many people and dogs at the weekend. Much better weekdays. So, how you settling in? I hope Sam is treating you ok and being the Gentledog he usually is. Ok short reply, lovely to hear from you – hope everything is well.
From us all
John, Benji and The WaWa
I’m doing pretty good and Sam is treating me well. He’s even playing with me a little on occasion. Sorry you guys didn’t get to the beach but know all about the weekenders. Mom stays away from them too. Give Benji a nose nudge from me and let me know if the Wa-Wa mistreats him. 😇
Elsa, you sure do have dreamy eyes. 🙂 Black dogs really are hard to photograph. It helped that Lexi had the silver eyebrows. Hey, maybe some well-placed highlights?
Ooh, highlights…I like that!
yes… it’s not easy to take a photo of a black pup… but you are beautiful no matter what :o)
Thanks, Phenny. They may not be able to see my face clearly but they definitely can see my charm. Woof!
