Greetings. Elsa and Sam here. Mom was looking for some Howliween inspiration and thought this would be fun with left over Easter egg coloring tablets.
We told her if she did that she might as well build this sign while she’s at it. We apparently convinced her of our major Cujo skills and she decided on a ‘simpler’ approach. She’ll be lucky if she gets to brush us now or add a festive collar.
Here’s hoping the week starts off with smiles and treats, not retreats. Happy Monday.
Live, love, bark! ❤︎
I don’t blame the pups for not wanting to look like easter eggs. I mean pink AND blue? Hardly co-ordinated.
Pastels are the worst!
Mee-you LadyMum sayss shee reememburrss thee Red Dye #5….shee said what about Koolaid powder which can bee used like food colorin???
More chemicals to get those colors. I won’t drink it so I definitely would’t put it on my dogs.
EEKK! I wouldn’t dye my 4 legged either Monika!
This post made me howl with laughter. The Poodle would go Cujo most likely. He grudgingly sports his rain jacket but only after I have to hunt him down to get it on. My sis had her pooch Nica wearing a pink tu-tu on Halloween. Miss Nica didn’t even blink. In fact, I think she rather liked it. Go figure. 🙂
It funny because the fur-kids love wearing bandanas but that the extent of any allowed clothes wearing. We were at the hospital on Halloween and I put a Davy Jones locker hat on Sam, you should have seen the stink eye he gave me. Didn’t seem to mind the visitors fawning all over his ‘costume’ but as soon as they left, he’d shake it off. At least I tried, right? 🤣
Pawsum Pastel Poodless!!! Far out Sam an Elsa!!
**Hi-5’sss** Siddhartha Henry =^,.^=
We tend to think the dying of pet fur for human amusement is borderline abuse. These poor guys look more like Easter eggs than Howliween ghoulies. 😃
Sam an Elsa isn’t there a food colorin that doess not hert 4 leggedss an Hu’manss if they want to color themselvess?
Not sure about that. Food colorings probably have some sort of harmful dyes in them and probably some more than others. Remember Red dye #5?
3 bum swings! 3 more!👻
BOL!🎃

OMD, I gots to come live with you guys! YOu should see what Ma put on me THIS year! sigh.
Okays, so the headbands are TOO bad, I gets those off in like 15 seconds, and I DO likes my giraffe one (shhhh, don’t tells her, k?) butts THIS…THIS was just too much!
you’ll see…
Kisses
Ruby ♥
pees: the end of that sign says…AIREDALE!
Sometimes it’s such a burden being a dog with pawrents who want to dress us up. Looking forward to seeing the giraffe!
I don’t think I could ever dye my dogs! They look like cotton candy
hugs
Hazel & Mabel
Floofy Easter treats!
BOL!!! I love that sign!! I should show my humom that! She already has a costume for me and Nymeria! Sigh…
It would totally be a pawsome label for a cutie like you!
Hey look! It’s dogs made out of cotton candy!
LOL…who’d have thought there’d be Cadbury poodles? 😊
I’m with Sam and Elsa on this one. LOL Hope your week goes well also. Tippy and I will be hibernating up on our little hill tomorrow night. I don’t do trick or treat anymore. Living out in the country, there aren’t many people who come by anymore anyway. They all go into town for the trunk-or-treat extravaganza where they can get loads of candy in a short amount of time. Sort of takes the fun out of it, if you ask me.
I can only wish to hibernate. The constant ringing of the door bell sets everyone off on a barking rant. Second worse night of the year, after July 4th. 😬
Oh my! Around here, if your porch light isn’t on, people don’t come around. They know they aren’t welcome, which sounds mean, I guess, but there are reasons. It helps that I live a quarter of a mile off of the road with a gate at the bottom of my driveway.
Oh, to have that quarter of a mile buffer zone! Lucky you. 😇
Hope you escape the colouring!
No worries about that. Mom doesn’t dare try it. 🤣
Your fur-iends,
Sam & Elsa 🐾
Ha….wouldn’t that be cute though?? However, I totally relate….we stick to Halloween bandanas around here! 🙂
My two fur-kids said ‘nope, no-how, no way.’ Trust me, there’s nothing worse than a visual scathing glance from a Standard Poodle on demeaning costumes.
Wow!
Clearly some people have too much time on their hands. I can barely manage a bath and full groom, let alone fur dyes!
Happy Halloween to the three of you!!
And to you three as well. 🎃
best to be naked or use photoshop instead,xx Speedy
The pups agree!
Few breeds have to endure more grooming indignities than the Poodle.
So Sam and Elsa reminded me. ☺️
Their mom would never…..
Yeah, their mom isn’t a ‘pastel girl.’ BOL
😀
I thought the poodle were adorable, especially if it is Easter time. 🙂 It would be a bit hard to do that on Elsa, though. My pups will be spending tomorrow evening naked in a secure, non-scary part of the house while the trick or treating is going on.
Just like my two knuckleheads. I’m astounded at the level of fur dying that goes on with groomers on poodles. Along with the pups, I’m not a fan. Give us a simple ‘puppy’ cut and we’re happy as clams at high tide. Anything else, there’s growling on both sides of the clippers. 😇
I do not dye nor paint nails (or express anal glands.) 🙂
Now that’s quite the range of “don’ts,” Amy. But certainly understandable on both counts. 😇
No one has asked me to, so why add cost and time? I do put pretty bows and scarves on the pups, though. 🙂
I think too many owners forget (or more likely don’t want to remember) to ask about anal gland depression until their poor pooch is scooching across the floor. I know I’m guilty of it and it can be a problem in poodles.
The vet I worked for years ago told me only vets should be doing that, as it is easy to harm the dog if you don’t do it just right. Also, I’ve been reading lately that most of the time, anal glands get “addicted” (my phrase) to being expressed and would simply respond to the dog scooting if left alone.
Works for me! 😉
Ears of Kismet blue-that’s more than I have.
Blue is far better than those pastel colors.
Poodle Parfait …they do look festive if not scary.
Too bad they’re pastel colored.
😊 they look cute rather than scary
Cute yes, pastels NO. 😄
a collar is a good costume… I will go as the nekked weimaraner this year ;I)
btw: stay away from easter egg coloring stuff… the mama once used it for her furs… she looked horrible… and her cruelty parents sent her to scool anyway…
In your costume, you may be the best (un)dressed of everyone if they look like these poor poodles.
