We’re off to West Pines today which requires Sam get bathed. Do you think he could be any more pitiful? The scar looks worse when he’s wet but does seem to look more pronounced than we thought though the vet said the hair might grow in but it could take a couple of months. I rather doubt it, but it does kind of give him some street cred.
Elsa was afraid she might be the next bath
victim subject when Sam was finished and immediately declared ‘King’s X’ and ran to her self-designated safe spot. These knuckleheads should get an Emmy for best dramatic performance by a dog.
Happy Hump Day.
Live, love, bark! 🐾

I guess they see bath-time for what it is —- a necessary evil
Not necessary and certainly evil judging by the grimaced faces. Luckily they have pretty short memories. I mean, we are dealing with an intellect on the same level as a radish, right? 🤣
Sorry about the bath, Sam. I had a thing cut out of my nose – and stitches. All have been removed now and I am happy to report that it has not altered my profile in any way. I don’t see that your scar has made you any less handsome.
Oh, you’re too kind. Thank you!
THOSE BIG EYES <3
I know, right?! So dramatic.
Pawsome work Sam! Wash day is not easy but we’re hoping you’ve enjoyed your visit at West Pines.
It was one of the more intense sessions but we definitely did. Today we go to the hospital and hospice for more fun.
Wow, you are both busy bees!
Two days of visits, so not too overly busy. 😄
Oh dude, I likes your scar! You can say that a pack of rabid wolves tried to attack your Moms, butts you fought them off and they ran away with their tails between their leggies! That’s your story, and you are sticking to it!
Elsa, I gots you gurl! I so understand….My safe spot is under the kitchen table. If Ma wants to gets me, she has to hit her head to do it! ☺
Us girls gotta have safe spots, eh Ruby? I like the idea of yours!
Uh Oh! What happened to Sam?!! We are in summer mode and way behind in visiting 🙁
Elsa, Avalon feels the same way you do about baths! She will go to great lengths not to get one!!
We hope you are all enjoying the summer 🙂
the critters in the cottage xo
Sam has his teeth cleaned and a couple of tiny growths removed. He’s fine and happy to have had those annoying stitches removed. We’re totally over the summer heat and are counting down the days to the start of autumn. Don’t work so hard 😇
Your nose looks like it healed up really well. You look good.
Still handsome! <3
Sorry about bath day, paI. think your snout is healing up just fine, S. I’m sure the hair will grow back like crazy.
Love and licks,
Surprisingly no one asked about it today during our visits. But there were other issues that had more import at the detox center as well as the treatment center so I’m grateful for that.
Oh, that wound healed so nicely. We bet the hair grows in and long around it before long. Handsome Sam.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
He might rather enjoy imitating Hercule Poirot. 🤣 especially if he gets free beer in Sturgis.
Take him up to Sturgis and have him sit in the bar and tell everyone that he got the scar fighting wolverines. He’ll never have to buy his own beer.
Bwahaha! Maybe as his wing person I should expect free beer myself! 🍺
Oh joy. I’ll even wash the car to take him on those beer runs!
Sam don’t you worry you look pawfectly handsome🐾
Elsa, I’m with you😉🐾
Elsa looks like her butt is glued to the dog bed. “If you wash me, you’ll have to wash my bed, too, and I know there isn’t room for that.”
Sam will soon forget the bath for the joy of doing his pawsome job.
You absolutely nailed it!
Oh, those baths!! I remember when I used to give Kissy her baths. But she was so easy…she let me do just about anything. It was the drying off part she didn’t like. I guess having the towel wrapped around her was a little scary. Bless her heart. I wish Ducky were that easy!
He hate baths but bless his heart, he stands there and takes it like a champ. Course he makes me feel oh-so guilty for putting him through such torture! 😊
Many dogs seem to be all about the drama! If only I had a nickel for every time I used the term “drama queen”. LOL
Academy award worthy performances, for sure.
rub a dub dub … we rather watch that event from a distance Sam ;O)))
I think Sam would have preferred watching from a safe distance too. Good thing he doesn’t hold grudges.
Oh my! The tub of doom!
Tub of doom…I LOVE that!
I’m with Elsa-who can see dirt on a black dog?
Surprisingly, dust shows up worse on a black dog than a ‘blonde’ one.
Oh crumbs, what a vision! Sam with a Hercule Poirot moustache!
It does lend itself to a certain je ne sais quoi quality, doesn’t it? 😄
My Poodles would love to have a dramatic scar.
I think all poodles would!
The hair will curl around the scar so it’s not as noticeable. Cole’s never grew hair again, but luckily naturally curly hair fills in gaps. He can tell the girls it was a rough squirrel incident.
He’ll end up looking like Hercule Poirot if it curls. That’ll be hysterical.
Why not have Sam follow that old cowboy rule, “I have a bath once a year, even if it’s not necessary.”? 😀
He’d totally be on board with that but the hospital, not so much. 😊
But of course I can understand the hospital. 😉
And yet people walk on the same ground as dogs and there are no extra measures required of them to enter the hospital. Just saying. 😇
You can’t have drama without a character! She does an excellent job at expressing herself. 🙂
There’s definitely no grey areas where Elsa is concerned. 😁
And the award for best actress in a leading role goes to . . . Oh, we seem to have a tie!
Bwahaha! No doubt Elsa would ‘Kanye West’ her brother when he wins. She can’t stand not to be the center of attention, unless of course it involves a bath. 😆
“Kanye West” her brother!?? I love that! Imma use that in something! I’ll credit you.
😇 I got a million of them. LOL
