When Granny saw the picture, she said to me “look, Binky, I have been there not so long ago” and then she smiled😸Great Picture, Monica! Pawkisses for a Happy Thankful Thursday🐾😽💞
Burg Satzvey is now on my bucket list! It is in an area of Germany I have yet to visit. Too many places in the world to visit and too little time (and money – LOL)
It’s a great place to visit for many reasons. They even offer a course called ‘Ritterschule’ (Knights’ School) – where you learn how to put on armor and see if you have what it takes to be a knight.
Thanks for the clarification. Once I saw your answer to easyweimeraner, I realized that I had passed that castle quite a few times on bicycle tours. I only didn’t recognize that view as I’ve never done more than hust peek inside through the gate.
Isn’t that beautiful!!
Nice! Germany, like Scotland, has some very interesting castles.
Aye, you’re right there.
WOW! Monika where in Germany is this spectacular Castle?? It is breath taking!
Sherri-Ellen & BellaDharma
It’s west of Cologne & Bonn, close to the Belgium border. Isn’t it like a fairytale?
Beautiful!

Isn’t it a wonderful place to visit? I just loved it and the graciousness of the Count and his staff.
Looks so lovely.
It was a day made of fantastical memories.
🐬🐬🐬
If we lived there we wouldn’t need to bark!
There’s always something to bark about!
Beautiful – looks like a scene from one of the jigsaw puzzles Mom likes to do.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Those kinds of puzzles are the hard ones!

You’ll love it!
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Oh, to be there RIGHT NOW!!! Thanks for sharing such a peaceful place!
My pleasure!
What a beautiful place to take us today.
Beautiful castle. It doesn’t look huge though. I’ll bet it was a lovely stay.
It was a wonderful time spent there!
Oooh this looks so lovely!!!
It is lovely and the owner, Count Biessel of Gymnich was very hospitable.
How nice that you got to explore it! Thanks for sharing 🙂 I can close my eyes and pretend I am there. Perhaps if I click my heels 3x.

LOL! Well now that could be fun. Did you try?
I know my limitations. I’m not nimble in normal clothes, but in armour…hahahaha!
Haha!! Same here!! 😆😆
Oh my, how I would love to explore there.
They even have tours if you’re not an overnight guest.
I want to go snoop around that castle.
Have a fabulous day. ♥
It’s quite the fascinating one!
I want to be the QUEEN of that castle!!!!!!
I’d even settle on Baroness 😆
Gorgeous!
The grounds are incredibly peaceful.
Does it have central heat and air, indoor plumbing, dishwasher?
It does now. Not when it was constructed back in the late 1300’s. 😉
i’m not showing Leo this…he’ll want it….
He could do worse! But the family that owns it have been there since the 1700’s. I think you’re safe.
He’s a very determined man…..
I’m sure he’d meet his match from a family that has owned the castle for 400 years.
I can but hope!
Is it somewhere in Westphalia?
In the Rhineland, west of Bonn. Mechernich to be precise.

It a lovely place to visit. You should have stopped by and had lunch or a beer. Nice restaurant inside the courtyard. 🚴🏼♂️
Well, these were my younger days [sadly days gone by ;D ], when I quite often was in kind of a “racing mode” = going on and on.
Welcome to my {slower moving} world. 🙂
🙂
Nice fishin’ hole!
If you like bottom feeders. 🙃
Imagine living here…
You can stay in one of the rooms for about the same rate as nearby hotels. It’s one of the loveliest moated castles in all of Germany.
oh yes! to be there would be great!! and some gators in that pond for unwelcome visitors…
Do you know this place? Burg Satzvey, Mechernich, Deutschland
Ooops! Just saw this reply here. Makes my question moot.
