To say I’ve been overwhelmed by all the kind messages about Angel Sam would be a definite understatement. Thank you all for your notes of comfort. It has meant the world to me.
Because yesterday was a sad day, let’s turn things around and share a smile. After last week’s Nature Friday post, my old pal Vince the Sign Guy from Indian Hills delivered a timely follow up bit of advice. Enjoy it and have a good day.

We sure hope that all adversely affected by that awful weather will soon be recovered and a=back to a more normal state, but I do imagine there will be a ton of mess to clean up, such as from all the burst pipes, etc. I can’t believe no one planned for a possible worse case scenario, knowing that it WAS possible, so why not prepare for it. Sheesh:(

You’re absolutely right, really had to fathom. There’s a shortage of plumbers in many locations and no doubt the scammers can’t be far behind. 😢 We love the Indian Hills signs-Vince spins some hilarious puns.

It cracked me up too and was particularly needed as you can imagine.
I can imagine all too well. It’s hard to believe my sweet Shadow rejoined sweet Callie nearly 2 years ago. And Callie’s gone 5-1/2 years tomorrow. It just doesn’t seem possible. Knowing that they’re together, though, makes it easier on me. And Radar is with them to help them watch over Ducky when she’s alone in the house. My sweet Golden angels. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out they’re playing with Sam.
I can just see your Golden Girls (and boy) having a good tail wagging session with Sam. He loved everyone whether they had 2 or 4 legs.

You would think that preparedness for hurricanes would have carried over to some degree. I do understand about not having snow removal equipment and such. To an extent, that’s why there is panic here when snow is forecast.

Texas does things differently (because it’s its own grid). Don’t presume to know all the in’s and out’s on the billing from ERCOT but it doesn’t sound right or fair to me.

Texas people seem to be trying to pull together…but where is the state in all this?
AWOL or too busy billing customers for beyond outrageous electric bills. I saw one guy who received a bill for almost $17,000-outrageous during a power outage! Life in the Lone Star state is a whole different world especially how they bill for energy.
Do they still have lynch mobs? If not, better resurrect them for these crooks.

It’s stunning that running water is still an issue nearly a week later. I hope the citizens demand better of their officials.
We can only hope that people won’t have forgotten by the time of the next elections.

That sign guy gives good advice alright! We too are hopeful things can get back to SAFE for the people of Texas. It will take years to get homes repaired, but clean drinking water is a big help.

It’s unconscionable the state had such a massive fail in power and running water. I’m just stunned it happened in the first place even in the face of a bad ice/snow storm.
