Came across this chap on my walk who refused to move for fear of losing his prized meal. Maybe squirrel Thanksgiving is this week? Anyway, he kept giving me the stink eye the whole time I positioned myself around the tree limbs to try to capture his pic. He must have thought it was rude to stare while he was noshing.
Here’s hoping your week is stink-eyed free with tasty treats galore. Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
Live, love, bark!🐾
He does not want to share!! 🙂
Squirrels never do.
Lulu: “SQUIRREL!!!”
Sssshhh…Elsa will get riled up if you say that too loudly.
What a great shot! This time of year, there should be some delish foods for the squirrels with all the apples and pumpkins!
Thank you. Apples, pumpkins and unabashed chutzpah-yup, the perfect scenario for squirrels. 😇
That was some prize! That dude can almost not hold it to have the nibbles he wants:)
Was it a quince?? Or a golden delicious apple?? My hubby’s fave variety of apple!
It was a Golden Delicious. It was almost as big as he was!
score!!! lucky squirrel. I passed by a hawk once, eating something on the road. It didn’t flinch or fly off in the face of a poodle. It was not leaving the dinner. A squirrel ran right through our yard yesterday, right within the fence, Milo by my side watched it run and didn’t chase it. Okayyyyy
They sheer nerve sometimes confuses dogs. They can’t believe something would be so bold and obnoxious!
What a great photo! Squirrels make me laugh a lot!
Thank you. This guy made me laugh too since he was bound and determined to hang on to that big apple!
I never knew squirrels like apples. It’s one of Xena’s very favorite foods, and the pups often share an apple at supper time in with their other food. Great photo!
Thank you. The squirrels in our neighborhood will eat just about anything and are well known garden thieves.
What a fantabulous capture! Worth getting the stink-eye to share with us 😉
I got lucky-usually squirrels know how I feel about them and can run away fast enough. Or maybe it’s Elsa they’re running away from. LOL
I have an inkling they are escaping the Ninja more than you 😉
And yes, such a clear shot involves some luck, great timing and some skills so don’t count yourself short!
You’re very kind. They should probably be put on notice that I’m less of a fan than Elsa. 😈
I try 😉
Oh, really? LOL!!
He knows what he wants and it isn’t you.
He was cautiously eyeballing me AND the Ranch Hands. Elsa is notorious for disliking squirrels even more than me.
And the feeling is quite mutual! 😈
What an adoorabell Squirrel Miss Monika….mee thinkss hee was just a but shy iss all….
***nose rubss*** BellaDharma an ((hugss)) BellaSita
There’s no such thing as a shy squirrel! The ones in my neighborhood are as bold as all get out.
Mew mew mew Miss Monika yore Squirrelss are purrty bold fore sure!
Minnie (R.I.P.) was a blod an frendlee Squirrel. Mimi her Sistur iss sorta shy butt doess recognize us. Macy iss tote-ally shy as iss Browny THE Black Squirrel…maybee they bee unshy next yeer???
**purrss** BellaDharma
Our squirrels are definitely hoodlums, looking for ways to cause mischief. They are constantly torturing the dogs. I’m sure I heard Elsa whisper “one of these days, dude…one of these days.”
Happy Monday, Monika – but in that pic, I see the eyes of an alien.
I’m with you. Squirrels are not of this world.
Satan’s rodent. How dare you post that in a family blog.
Umm, would you accept it if you knew it was a PSA?
Well, maybe, but you have to promise not to let it look cute.
Squirrels (contrary to some) are NOT cute. They are the evil spawn of the devil. Elsa and I agree on that. Norman is more in the ‘whatever’ camp.
Glad to see we agree.
Loath is the nicest thing I can say about those little buggars!
Cute!!
They do have a fairly captivating expression, even if they’re a furry version of the devil.
What a prize. I would have given you stink eye too. You are bigger.
Haha! Squirrels aren’t interested in sharing. Anything!
That is for sure.
It’s so long since I saw a “Chap” that I had forgotten what they looked like. Nice apple..
And the only chaps I usually see wear masks. 😇
Glorious looking apple. No wonder he’s so protective. Those don’t grow on trees! Oh wait! They do!
It did look tasty. I suspect it was a Golden Delicious and he sure seemed to think so.
Awww, what a cutie pie. A great shot too.
Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the pups, a smooch to Norman and a hug to you. ♥
Thanks, Sandee. Wishing you a great week. Hugs and tail wags from me, Norman and Elsa.
You can see him thinking ‘Another one of these pests who photograph the food in restaurants….’
Hahahaha! So right!
We have 13 apple trees here. That squirrel would have a blast!
A definitely food coma of apples!
ove this guy… a golden apple is a super gift …
He sure seemed to think so!
That little guy scored BIG with that apple – probably he worried you might be considering taking his prize away. LOL
Hugs, Pam
No doubt! He might have had reason to think that too. 😉
For 14 years we worked Thanksgiving and ordered our dinner packaged up from one of our favorite local restaurants…amazing pumpkin pie too. This is the first year we’re not working the holiday but we still ordered dinner! Looking forward to a quiet, relaxing holiday for the first time in many years.
Good for you! We wish it’s a peaceful day filled with love and gratitude.
I’m glad you said “chap” because my girls would go nuts if they heard “squirrel”. Doh! I said it and there they go…. 🤓. Have a great week at the Ranch!
Funny how some words trigger loss of mind. 😆
