Monday Musings ~ August 24, 2026

Happy Monday! Do you ever feel like you’ve completely lost it? Things didn’t go quite as you planned? I think this chuckle fairly accurately describes it.Monday smile

But all is not lost, Despite a bit of a minor hiccup this morning (a lost sock that somehow managed to wander away from its mate after a few minutes of searching for it but it eventually turned up), I’ve decided to consciously adopt a ‘bloomscrolling’ attitude for the day. Who knows, maybe one of those MIA Tupperware lids will show up. Hope springs eternal. Have a great Monday. Happy bloomscrolling today.

  1. I think all you need to do is sit down in a comfy spot, have Wilson sit before you … you
    each look into one another’s eyes … and you’ll both know that all is right in your world.

    1. Yes, Wilson and I regularly ‘dog pile’ to gain perspective-now if I could just figure out how to wrangle those pesky errant socks. 😉 Have a great week!

  2. Mee-yow THE comick iss purrfection Miss Monika an Wilson…..wee still lookin fore THE MIA sock!! An THE dessert fork an BellaSita’ss mind 😉 Mee mighta sorta freeked her out Saturday an diss-appeered…
    Life sure can bee topsy-turvy can’t it?
    ~~~head rubss~~~BellaDharma~~~ an ((hugss)) BellaSita Mum
    1. Oh no, it’s not recommended for you to go MIA. Remember you’re not a sock or a Tupperware lid. 🤣 Hope it’s been a great Monday.
  3. The first meme gave me a big chuckle, it sounds like my life. Maybe bloomscrolling is all I do as I read/consume a certain amount of news each day, then consider myself informed enough and stop, and spend the rest of my time with online friends who are positive, or reading uplifting material.
    1. Glad you enjoyed our smile today. It’s more important than ever to surround ourselves with positive people. There’s too much negativity any more. Hope it’s been a positive Monday!
  4. You’ll find that lid after you start using the Tupperware bowl for cleaning paint brushes. As for the sock, wearing mismatched socks is a fashion statement.
    1. Hahaha! I’ve actually had that happen to me with a plastic container. Talk about embarrassing. I’ll have to remember the fashion statement thing though I’m not sure my OCD will let it slide easily. Hope you’ve had a great Monday, Dan.
  5. The missing socks gremlins are in cahoots with the missing Tupperware lid gremlins . . I am totally convinced of this.
    Bloomscrolling sounds like the kind of something the world needs right about now.
    1. I totally agree about socks, lids and what this country needs more than anything. Happy Monday.
        1. And it never seems to fail once you ditch the container, all of a sudden the lid magically appears. 🤦🏼‍♀️
    1. Yes! And any day of the week bloomscrolling is so much better. Hope it was a happy Monday for you.
  6. YES! I have had plenty of those day! LOL! The lids drive me batty! Love the bloomscroll quote. I enjoy a lot of her quotes, as you can tell in my Tuesday’s posts. LOL!
    Happy Monday! Glad you found the sock and hope your lid shows up. 🙂
    1. Thanks. Yes, in fact the missing sock appeared but not without having to tear apart the whole drawer. Which, under normal circumstances wouldn’t be a problem except I wasn’t really prepared to that at 4:45 AM. 😂 Have a fantastic Monday.
    1. I know, right? Thank goodness for bloomscrolling on those first world problems. Happy Monday, Carole!
    1. Thanks. It took a while and I was surprised I had that level of patience at 4:45 in the am! I’m not usually that detailed oriented at that time. 🤣Have a swell Monday.
  7. I gave away all my Tupperware. End of lid problem. I now use glass, and there are only two lids for all volumes. Wishing you a great week of bloomscrolling, Monika.
    1. Good for you! Glass is better than plastic any day. And eliminating all those lids makes great sense. Let’s hear it for pleasant bloomscrolling!
  8. It is always a mystery where things like lids and sox go missing. 😉 Although, at least my sox are pretty well-behaved. 😉 I’m DEFINITELY a bloomscroller! 👍🏼 Happy Monday.
    1. Bloomscrolling makes for much better days when the kids and socks get out of control. Happy Monday, Eliza!
  9. I chuckled with the first one and yes on the second. Beautiful.
    I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
    Have a fabulous day and week. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to Wilson. ♥
    1. Many thanks, Sandee. As always, we are so grateful you add us to your Monday blog hop. You’re the best. May this week be full of bloomscrolling.
  10. Bloomscrolling is a concept whose time has definitely come. This should be incorporated into everyone’s daily life. Smiles instead of frowns. Happy Monday, Monika!
  11. Yes, this has been the year from H-E double hockey sticks, as Xena would woof. It feels like if something around here can go wrong, it will. We can’t seem to get one major repair done before something else happens. Ugh! Oh, and BTW, have you checked the on-line price of older Tupperware, even just the seals, lately???
    1. I think Xena has good observations. Tupperware was never cheap-luckily I’m transitioning to glass these days whenever I can. We hope you all have a positive bloomscrolling kind of week with no more major repairs.
  12. Jimmy Buffett wrote, “if we couldn’t laugh we would all go insane”. So I laugh and often start my week with a good chuckle right here in your posts. 🙂. And now I’m off to bloomscroll the week away. Hope yours is a good one! Belly scrubs to Wilson! 🐾
    1. So glad you enjoy are weekly smiles. Hoping there are plenty of ear rubs for the Golden Girls and loads of bloomscrolling for you this week!
    1. So happy to be able to share it with you. Hope you have a wonderful bloomscrolling day.
  13. Keeping one’s sanity intact these days often feels more like an Olympic sport. That’s why I depend on my favorite journalists on Substack (like Dan Rather) and my 1440 Daily news email. Once in a while I might read an article posted on FB by a trusted friend, but I just don’t have the patience for the daily dramatics any more. I do love the “Bloomscrolling” though – it’s perfect!
    And as for missing socks and Tupperware lids? I stopped worrying about them a LONG time ago. When you’ve lived with a dementia patient who constantly put stuff where it didn’t belong, or just plain threw it in the trash when you weren’t watching, you learn to “let go” of material attachments. (((Sigh)))
    1. Thanks. Daily dramatics indeed. The non-stop firehose of online drama is so overwhelming. Bloomscrolling seems like a perfect remedy. Here’s hoping your day is filled with lots of blooms. Happy Monday, friend.
    1. Thank you. It seems like especially good advice for these crazy times. Have a marvelous bloomscrolling day!
    1. Some days it’s not as easy as it sounds but we agree with you…blooms are always better than downers. Happy Monday.
    1. It certainly does! Here’s hoping there’s loads of it taking up space in your world.
    1. I’m going to dedicate myself to ‘bloomscrolling.’ Although a teeny bit of insanity can be interesting. Have a grand bloomscrolling Monday!
    1. That’s a positive strategy, Kate. Here’s to keeping hold of your sanity. Happy Monday.
    1. Isn’t it just perfect? I think we all can benefit from doing it. Here’s hoping your day is filled with bloomscrolling. Happy Monday, Paul.
    1. Isn’t that such a delightful approach for dealing with these crazy times? I loved it too. Have a splendid Monday!
