Yesterday was a gorgeous day in the 303 with mild temps and even a shower later in the day-something we haven’t seen in a couple of months. Mother Nature has been quite schizoid this summer so it was wonderful being able to take advantage of this pause in blistering temperatures. It was the perfect day to visit the Denver Botanical Gardens with a dear friend. My dear friend, Cheryl and I were awed by nature’s kaleidoscope of color and texture. Here are a few highlights from our meanderings. It was a great day shared with a great friend that reminded me how truly blessed I am by this friendship and the gorgeous venue in the heart of the city.

At first glance, I thought your opening line was stating it was a gorgeous day with a temp around 303! Actually, now that I look it up, on the Kelvin scale 303 is equal to 85 F…. so really, not far off!
It’s been delightfully temperate so far this week. Mid to upper 70’s, making trips to the gardens most enjoyable. I hear it’ll be back in the 90’s by tomorrow and through the weekend.
BEAUTIFULS!!! We haven’t been to our Japanese Garden in years! Ma says it’s time to go again…butts, she says doggies aren’t allowed! rude. Thanks for the wonderful pictures!

Visiting the gardens always improves my disposition. Being around all that beautiful growing stuff is nourishing to one’s soul.
Same here, I have to get at least one walk in nature a day in. Dogs are a perfect excuse for that.

We are too small to have a Botanic Gardens. Our nearest one is 50 miles away – The Arid Lands Botanic Garden. The Main Botanic Garden is is Adelaide. Really liked the photographs and the four legged intruder.. I have not been in the Adelaide Garden for ages. Must make a point of visiting in spring.
It’s good for the soul to visit places like this and I feel fortunate to have a nice one in our city. When I lived in a small town, I relied on parks for spots of nature.

the dahlia makes me want to drop everything and go make a dahlia quilt. This photo would inspire a piece of art, why it even looks quilted. The orange flowers I grew wild in my MD yard. I’m surprised that some of the same flora grows here. We have been getting nearly daily rain in Aurora, so close yet so different. Rained nearly all day yesterday, and for a change, it went down not sideways. Milo had a play date and came in soaked from wet grass. The other dog was dry, so apparently my boy rolled in it!
When it rained, I felt like rolling in it! It’s been so long since it rained in our neighborhood. ‘Scattered’ showers is the norm for the Front Range.

LOL…I too have followers all over the world. I suppose I could have used a mailing code or a nickname for the city, but have used the 303 moniker for over 30 years. Guess it’s a Colorado thing. 😉
