Catch Up Tuesday

Returning from a wonderful vacation, I’m more behind than ever so this week may not see a lot of blog action but don’t be alarmed if I don’t comment on your posts. The WiFi situation (along my international data plan) were inadequate to keep fully on top of things but rest assured, I will read every blog post that arrived in my inbox, even if I don’t leave a comment.

Suffice to say the trip was worth every sun-filled moment. What’s not to enjoy and love when there’s good company, good food, and good drinks? Oh, and a gorgeous view that will remain in my memory banks for a good long time.

On a less happy note, just a week shy of being six-months seizure free, Elsa had a small seizure last night. She’s fine and back to her normal self and resting right now. While I was gone, she apparently learned how to amp up the motor that controls her tail wag speed because when I walked in, I had never seen it wag so fast. It fills my heart with such joy to see this once shut-down precious Ninja expressing canine glee. In looking back over her seizure log last night, I noted this has been the longest period of time she hadn’t had an episode which I attribute it to the switching of CBD oil brands to Black Dog Botanicals (which can be found in the e-shop here in both canine and human strength). Her blood values will be screened sometime over the next couple of weeks and I should have a better sense of her progress then. The vet said if we could limit her to a couple a month, she’d be happy, so I’m sure this will merit some pawsitive note in Elsa’s medical file.

Sam, Elsa and I  send our very best Happy Thanksgiving greeting to you and yours. We’ll see you soon!

Live, love, bark!🐾

  1. Welcome home! I am sorry about Elsa’s seizure 🙁 We struggle with the same monster but phenobarb has mostly tamed it for Shyla. I hope for a tamed monster for Elsa too.

    1. Thank you. Yes, between the Phenobarb and some organic CBD oil, we’ve managed to keep the monster at bay for almost 6 months. We consider ourselves very lucky. And grateful. Hope you’ve had a ‘pawsome’ Thanksgiving weekend. Is there snow flying up north? Just drizzle/rain showers here.

    1. No worries. She’s doing fine and going almost 6 months seizure free was quite a feat from the little Ninja Warrior. 😍

    1. Thanks. Hope your Thanksgiving has been grand! Ear rubs to the cutest kitties around. 😻

    1. Thanks! We’re all good and waiting with anticipation for the next storm. Happy Thanksgiving to you, the hubs and the pups.

    1. And a hearty Thanksgiving greeting to you and the kitties. Guess you’re probably ‘enjoying’ the opening of the season of madness at Mecca. Here’s hoping it isn’t too crazy.

  5. Glad you had a great vacation, I’ve enjoyed the pictures. Sorry Elsa had a seizure, 6 month time is great.

  6. Welcome back, Monika. Being away from the normal routine is always good – then again, returning home is always a pleasure. Best wishes to Elsa. … and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

    1. I’m not into tanning, instead I prefer sitting under an umbrella with a large fruity drink. 😊

  7. Sooo happy you had a sun-filled glorious, well-deserved trip!!! I am happy that Elsa is ok after the last seizure and I loved reading about her adorable tail! Welcome back and we wish you all a blessed, happy, healthy and delicious Thanksgiving! xoxo

    1. Right back atcha, sweet friend. I’m still blushing at the incredible post you penned about our little shop. Thank you so much! Have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving! 💖

    1. Thanks. The abrupt change was quite the shocker to the system but it’s pawfect for Thanksgiving week. Hope yours is terrific!

  8. I was just thinking about Elsa last night and how well she has been doing. I’m sure this was just a hiccup and she will keep improving. I’m so glad you had a great vacation in a sunny clime. I only wish I had been with you! 🙂

    1. We have our paws crossed. She’s no worse for the wear today though she’s been napping lots which is good for her. Wish you’d been there too, Amy. It was incredible and the weather was perfect. When I left, it was snowing and snowed the day before I got home. It was nice to have missed that. 😇

    1. Indeed it was, Puerto Vallarta in fact, or as the locals refer to it, ‘the fun side of the wall.’ 😊

  9. Welcome home!! Glad you had a good rest away from things. So very sorry to hear about our favourite Ninja, but also glad that it was a mini-episode. Benji and I are sending out positive thoughts to her, Oh and Hi Sam, you’re not forgotten…

    1. Sam sends much butt wiggling and tail wags in return. Both dogs are doing well despite yesterday’s hiccup for Elsa. Thanks for the welcome back message.

    1. Thanks! I was in sunny Puerto Vallarta and am adjusting to the 60 degree difference in temperatures. LOL Actually, it’s good to be home. There’s only so many restaurants you can eat out at and probably good I can ‘dry’ out a bit. 😇 But boy the margaritas were very tasty.

        1. That combo is hard to beat ANY time of year but especially when it’s snowing back home and you’re on the beach.

  10. So very glad you had such a wonderful vacation, Monika. Too bad litle Ninja had a seizure but good thing it’s been a good long while. It’s nice when our furry friends are happy to see us back home!
Have a fabulous day and Thanksgiving!

    1. Thanks, it was a great time with perfect weather. Just trying to get used to the 60 degree F differential. 😳

        1. Especially when that reality is so cotton-pickin chilly! Luckily it should be back in the 60’s here today and tomorrow with another storm forecast for the weekend. I’ll be ready with enough layers by then. 😊

            1. It’s storms like that which offer us 4 season inhabitants smiles. Stay warm, safe and keep smiling even after the umpteenth time of shoveling the walks my friend.

                1. LOL, damn doctors. Wonder how many cardio their walks! Over and over again in the same storm.

                  1. LOL… as he told me, walking is fine and dandy, but does it get my heartbeat up to 120 beats? I think not… sigh. Gonna have to included jumping jacks or sumthin’!

  11. Welcome home and I’m glad you had a great vacation. Your shot is paradise indeed.

Good news on the lack of seizures. That’s very happy news. Loved the tail wagging. She’s just happy you’re home and her pack is complete.

Have a fabulous day. Scritches to the pups. ♥

  12. Welcome back! So glad you had such a wonderful time in “paradise!” 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you and a cuddle to dear Elsa. Yay on her going so long without a seizure and hoping that she will continue on being seizure free, that this small one that she had will be the last!

    1. Thank you for the well wishes. We have our paws crossed the epi-monster stays away for a long time and the Ninja resumes her normal wily ways.
