They are pretty birds! Around here we know it’s really spring when the goldfinches actually turn gold again. We don’t see the house finches quite as much.
Thanks. I hadn’t noticed these guys around the hood much before but on drab days in between spring and winter (with winter coming again tomorrow), they sure punch up the landscape. Plus they are noisy little buggers!
Awww…we had house finches build nests in the rafters under our deck every year when we lived in Arvada. Endless entertainment for the cats, and so sweet when they’d perch on the railings above the nests and sing!
Is he married?
No, but hear he’s available.
I think I saw a birdie…can I have it…MOL😸Clean Pawkisses for a Happy Thursday. Stay Safe Healthy and Yourselfie🙏🐾😽💞
We’ll save it for you, Binky. 😸
Great picture!!
Many thanks. Truth be told, I got lucky. These guys flit about so quickly, it’s hard for cell phone cameras to focus in time.
Yes it is!!
Very Pretty.
Thanks. The males are primed for mating season with their increasingly more colorful heads.
I met that bird. His name is Atticus. :snorf:
Are you mocking-bird me?
A lone Finch
As scrappy as they are, probably just as well.
Spring is gonna make it!
Not before a few more spring storms will arrive. Forecast says anywhere from 4-6 inches tomorrow. ❄️❄️❄️😲
Pretty bird, nice shot.
Thanks! He didn’t hang out there for too long so I got lucky.
Gorgeous bird and fantastic photo!!!
Woos, Lightning and Timber
Thanks. Not too bad for an iPhone pic.

Rarely had I seen these guys before in the city. I’d have remembered with those pretty redheads. 🙂
What a beautiful little guy!!
Those guys are so perky and bright. Wish I had half their energy!
because you inform so well, I think you’d be a task light, a bright task light!
That’s sweet of you to say. Tasks aren’t getting done much these days. Just going through the motions.
Love that vibrant pinch of color right smack dab in the middle. Perfect framing, Monika.

Good thing they’re easy on the eyes! 🙂
Only the males. I couldn’t spot a female in an all female house finch lineup. They’re drabber than the present landscape!
I love how you used the branches as framing.
Thanks. That was all Mother Nature. And lack of any freaking vegetation. 😇
It works beautifully.
That’s very kind of you, sir. Thank you.
Thank YOU
Beautiful! Especially against the blue sky………..
Hugs, Pam
They are pretty sweet little birds.
A feast for the eyes! A spot of color after between our spring snow storms! Thank you.
They are very welcome in a sea of brown alternating with white. Stay warm tomorrow.

They are quite plentiful this year. And wonderfully vocal! 😊
Yes, love their songs!
Chirpy little buggars, aren’t they?
😀
I’m with Dale. I liked it too. We don’t see finches here often.
Hadn’t really noticed them much until recently. Feisty little fellas and that spot of color just adds to their charm.
Yes it does.
Spring has sprung here. Violent storms and tornadoes. And yes, we’re all ok.
Have been hearing stories about those storms. Holy cow. Stay safe!
There will be leaves on that tree soon. Hang in there Rockies!
Hope springs eternal!
And this? This is wonderful, Monika! Funny… I almost went with a Robin today, as well 😉
A throw away. It left me feeling…’meh.’ Sigh
Now, now… it is lovely. Not ‘meh’!
Aww, thanks. That’s very sweet if you to say that. 🥰
🥰
Spring is a magical time of year. Beautiful.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Big hug. ♥
Thanks. Sometimes images are far better than words, especially when you’re stuck. 🤨
