Welcome to this week’s blog hop for Nature Friday. Today we join our weekly hosts, Rosy, Sunny, Arty and Jakey from LLB in Our Backyard to celebrate a special edition of Nature Friday ~ Flowers for Marg.
Marg Elemendorf of Marg’s Animals, is a well known blogger who is loved and followed by so many over the years. Today we all come together to make Marg’s birthday extra special since she lives alone caring for her many and beloved kitties. Happy Birthday, Marg!
Please feel free to leave your own birthday wishes here at this link.
Today is a birthday two-fer for me. Norman, Elsa and I of course send best wishes to Marg but we also send them to one of my dearest friends, Cheryl who celebrates an extra special birthday today. Happy birthday, sweet lady. I’m looking forward to celebrating with you in person this weekend.
Alright, let’s see if we can put together a bouquet of flowers for these two special women who do so much for others. Although spring is taking its sweet time arriving in the Mile High City and it may be a bit premature to cut a lush bouquet for indoor display still, there are some early spring bulbs that suggest bouquets gracing a table won’t be too far away.
Earlier this week we saw the first blooming tulips in a border along one of our walks. So cheerful and happy looking.
While the past couple of days have been cooler than our warm Easter weekend, seeing tulips blooming always brings smiles to winter-weary hearts in the Rockies.
While our garden is just waking up, there was one early bloomer that caught me off guard. I don’t ever recall seeing pink Phlox quite this early. What a nice splash of color, wouldn’t you agree?
On a quick trip to a store I rarely shop at, I stopped by their flower department a couple of days ago and saw an incredible display of indoor orchids. These two deeply colored (and not edited to boost their vibrancy, mind you) stopped me dead in my tracks. I stared for several minutes taking in all that beauty.
Definitely out of the ordinary yet stunning in true orchid style.
We hope you all have a beautiful Friday. Please enjoy some nature and find time to make your weekend grand.
Live love, bark! 🐾

What lovely flowers. I am happy to admire other people’s flowers whilst unable to grow my own. Probably why I go to the Gardens so much – apart from the walk.. Happy Birthday to Marg. Tried to join your blog hop but failed, so I wish you Happy Birthday here..
Thank you. And no doubt, Marg felt all the wonderful birthday vibes. When I first started gardening, I foolishly thought I could do roses. This of course, without knowing a single thing about them. In Colorado, growing roses can be more than difficult so I quickly learned (after killing all the roses at my old house) to aspire a little closer to my limited abilities. If I want to see roses, I go to the botanic gardens. Now I make sure things I try have a fighting chance despite my abilities. 😇
What beautiful flowers! We are finally getting our first blooms now, the mini daffodils are always the first to open!
They are always so cute. No doubt things will start moving along quicker.
Beautiful flowers and Happy Birthday to both of your friends! I’m sure they are enjoying your photo bouquets. Those orchids are gorgeous.
Thanks. I’m a big fan of those brightly hued orchids and those two are the most intensely colored ones I’ve ever seen. Have a lovely weekend.
Oh, now those are some BEAUTIFUL blooms!!!! Oh, yes, Ma is a sucker for the orchids! She will usually pick up a small one at Trader Joes if they have some purty ones (since they are cheap 😉).
Marg is just gonna looooooves them!
Have a FABulous weekend my furiends!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Thanks Ruby. I wish there was a TJ nearby so I could pick one up as soon as I murder the previous one. I;m not very good keep them alive but sure love their beauty.
Lulu: “What lovely flowers for Marg! We hope she had a wonderful birthday!”
We hope so, too, sweet girl.
Taking its sweet time? Whatchu talkin’ about? You had crocus way before us! Here, they are just popping and a few houses, on the sunny side, right next to the house, are starting to be seen the daffs and a tulip or two. I, so far, have only green shoots of promise.
Those orchids! Wowowow!
Happy Weekend to you!
Crocuses don’t count. They come up in snow! 🤣
Not here they don’t!
Not here they don’t! Or rarely!
The awakening of spring, after winter (and especially this one) always does my heart good. So nice to see color return after the long gray and brown and sometimes white months.
Marg sure is one of a kind, a very special lady!
Your flowers sure are beautiful!
Marg will enjoy them so much!
Happy Birthday to our friend, Marg!!
That thought makes us very happy. Hope she had a great day!
Many thanks. It’s the least we can do to someone as revered as Marg. We hope she had a great day.
Gorgeous flowers. Thanks for sharing, and have a great weekend,
Pit
Right back atcha!
Those are all such beautiful flowers. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Happy to share them with the birthday girl!

Happy weekend!
No doubt Miss Marg will be delighted with your birthday greetings. Thank you!
You found some lovely flowers for dear Marg. She is a very special person.
Happy Birthday to our dear friend, Marg.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Not a lot blooming yet but a few bulbs might be a good birthday bouquet.
I love blue flowers! I have had to have one of those orchids!
Isn’t it quite stunning?
Yes!
So that’s phlox…hmmm…wondered what I’d been seeing in abundance in the neighborhood. They make nice ground cover..think I’ll see what I can do with some.
Happy Weekend!
Yes, it’s a lovely ground cover. Love it’s pops of color in the garden. Hope you guys have a good weekend. Hope Riley is feeling better.
His eye is still pretty bad, but it’ a teeny tiny bit better.
Glad to hear he’s improving. Hopefully the process will speed up the healing with each day.
Beautiful tour, Monika. You are right about the orchids. They are stunning.
Wish I knew how to keep them happy. They seem to rather enjoy vexingly gardening skills. 😊
I wouldn’t touch orchids with a ten foot pole.
I think most people overwater them. I include myself in that category sadly.
There is all this information about misting and humidity levels which is enough to chase me from the room.
I’d like a birthday bouquet that has these flowers! Those orchids are incredible and the phlox are pretty stunning too.
Those colors really shouted out to me. Have a lovely weekend.
You too!
I’ve never seen such deeply vibrant orchids like those before. If only I didn’t kill them. 😕
Yes, easy to have a black thumb with them!
Boy, do I know that all too well! 😇
Same 🙁
What a wonderful post for 2 wonderful ladies! You “picked” terrific flowers for the bouquet’s too! We hope you and your family have a marvellously happy day!
Thank you. Beautiful flowers for a couple of beautiful souls. Hope you have a ‘pawsome’ weekend.
Wow and double wow, what a gorgeous collection of flowers for Marg today!!!
Thanks. Beautiful ladies deserve beautiful flowers. 💐
Marg totally deserves beautiful flowers. Have a furbulous weekend.
What nice flowers for the Birthday ladies
Flowers are always good for birthdays. Have a wonderful weekend.
WOW those orchids are STUNNING x 2 !! I’ve never had much luck with them but those colors always draw me in and FORCE me to keep on trying. I think our house is just too dry. I hope your friend Cheryl has a wonderful birthday and I’m hoping it’s mighty HAPPY around Zoolatry today as well. Marg is amazing with all she does. The tulip photos make me wish I had some tulips around here but the squirrels dug up the bulbs every time I plant more! Little devils!
Hugs, Pam
Yes, squirrels tend to view tulip bulbs like a salad bar. Thanks for your birthday greetings. Both ladies deserve a wonderful day full of good cheer.
I know what you mean about orchids, but their seductive looks keep me trying as well.
Wishing Marg a happy birthday!
Those flowers, especially that intense blue orchid, are beautiful. It was 27 degrees here this morning, but it will make it up into the 50s today.
Weren’t those orchids something else? Our temps mirror yours somewhat (but not quite as cold) but it’ll warm up a bit over the weekend. Have a good one!
Your new phone camera is amazing. I need to get a new phone.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, my friend. Scritches to Elsa and a smooch for Norman. ♥
Thank you although it’s not particularly new, guess I’m just maybe learning how to take some photos better. Wishing you a ‘furbulous’ weekend.
Nothing like birthday flowers. And WOW those orchids!
They were definitely jaw droppers in my mind. Have a super weekend!
oh the orchids. and the tulips are like a birthday firework for marg ;O)
I like that description…birthday fireworks. Totally. Here’s to a pawsome weekend.
